Perfect Coupe

I bought this 2005 M3 because I was looking for something that performed very well but had some interior room and was more flexible than a two seater. This M3 is a 6 speed manual and is otherwise stock with the Alcantara interior. I really love the Alcantara interior, it looks great and really holds you in place during hard cornering. So far the M3 has been everything I expected it to be and more. It's a very balanced package in terms of acceleration, handling, braking etc..When you factor in the fact that with a descent set of winter tires it's a car you can drive all year round it almost sounds like great value. Build quality is superb and I have not had any issues at all.

Due to a lengthy involvement in "gentleman's " racing of sports cars, I am often enlisted by friends and acquaintances to find or evaluate the proper car for them, or for a family member. BMW has remained on the primary list of possibilities for some forty, consecutive years. My personal favorite (amongst worthy competition) for an enthusiast's road car is the BMW M3. Since its inception, following on the heels of the mighty CSL race champion, BMW has not put a foot wrong in the development of this package. Even in its current larger and heavier form it is race-course precise, extrordinarily well balanced, built to a quality level well beyond its price. A bargain, actually

One Word: Amazing!

Can't say enough good things about my M3. I love it! I have test driven many of these over the years, and I finally took the plunge and bought one earlier this year. It is everything I have always wanted in a car. Excellent good looks, enough room to have my wife and two kids in the car (plus a decent amount of luggage in the trunk), and power and handling that are absolutely breathtaking. Even with the amazing raw power that the engine is capable of, it still gets very good mileage if you aren't "on it" all the time. When not driving aggressively, I have averaged 27.1 mpg for a whole tank of gas. The ride is very stiff, so if you are looking for a cushy car, this is not the ride for you.

The thrill of a Bimmer

I am a person who believes a car no matter what make or model is meant to be driven not showcased. So I'll give you the driver's point of view. The car is a pleasure to drive. It is fast, it is smooth, and it can handle with the best of them. It's a mean looking car with a mean spirited personality. The tunnel vision you get at the higher RPMs is an amazing feeling. The security in the drive while pushing your car is unprecedented. Knowing a car can handle the high RPMs and the ability to stick to the road can make anyone feel like they are professional drivers. I own a manual, and Sports mode feels like you're driving a new ridiculously faster car. What a car to suit any occasion.

I use to have a 2001 X5 and it was a great car, but compared to my new 2005 M3 it stands not chance. Love everything about this car except for the exhaust sound. I need to do something about that. So far the cars been holding up like a rock.

This car is the best blend of performance and comfort that I have owned. There is a always a support of power available to the driver to maximize safety and handling. The braking capacity of the car is quick, precise and progressive. Driving this car in the U.S. at legal speed limits does not labor this vehicle at all. There is always a large surplus of acceleration and braking to maximize the driving performance, safety and comfort not only to the driver but also to the passengers. The interior design is clean and classic that offers excellent visibility, and all the features and ammenities that any passenger and driver would require. Instrumentation is direct, simple and not over bearing.

This car is a dream to drive, especially with the SMG transmission. However, one look at the interior shows that even the M3 is sadly dated. The 2005 model needs a better interior, especially when the asking price is in the $55,000 range. For example, the model I test drove only had a single disc CD player, no CD changer, no Nav system, and no satellite radio, but the dealer wanted $58,000 for it. It is a fun drive, but the Mercedes C55 AMG is a better, more complete package for the same amount of money.

M3 competition package

Overall, it is a great car. It looks as good as it performs. Solid performance thanks to the competition package. The competition package is an alternative for those who don't want to get aftermarket upgrade but want more for their M3. However, there are some electrical problems with the radio and the bluetooth connection for cell phone; not all cell phone can connect via bluetooth. The gas mileage is not bad. Got about 300 miles per a tank, 65%highway and 35% highway. If driving locally, a full tank will only give 220 miles. The exterior looks great all around. Need a wing spoiler to complete the aggressive look. The front seats is great. Back seats are very comfortable.

Aside from a few knick-knacks that have fallen apart and were quickly replaced by my dealer and the poor stock stereo, this car is amazing. Perfect for anyone who appreciates and loves to drive with precision, class and style at any speed. I am too often tempted to drive faster as the revs increase. When not in snow, it is a pleasure. Now my problem is paying off the lawyer and fines for my 125mph in a 55!

This car loves to be driven. It is the best mix of true performance and luxury. The car drives better at 100 mph vs 55 mph. The handling and acceleration of the car is unparalleled by any other car that is this practical and at the same time so precise. The interior comfort is awsome and inviting to any lovely that you would want to meet. The accolades are numerous and voluntary. There are no highway or street venues that this car can't conquer. The exterior styling is classic and inviting while the car looks as tough on the road as it performs in the curves.

Amazing performance, engine and supspension tuning come close to pure magic. Agressive styling make it best looking Bimmer out there, upgraded seats are fabulous, can fit to any torso. Exhaust sound is raspy, goofy sounding. Ride at low speed is busy, jiggly, smooths out as speed increases. A scalpel in a world of axes, makes you smile every time you drive.

This car has impressed me in every detail and option. I ordered it basically fully loaded, and I am thrilled with the Competition Package. The only setback I have to the CP is the removal of Cruise Control due to the special steering wheel. However, the car handles extremely well, and has very fast acceleration, so who needs cruise control anyway. The seats and interior are perfectly designed, and the exterior is remarkably sharp. Definitely a head turner!

This car has surpassed all my expectations. It is quick, agile, nimble, powerful. It will surpass any challenges the streets of the US have to offer while beating most other cars on the road, but the M3 does it with confidence and a breath taking design that everyone compliments.

I got an M3 a little over a year ago & loved every minute of it. Recently, I traded it for one of the new E60 M5s. I thought I made a great deal. but I immediately knew I made a horrendous mistake after driving off the lot. The M5 is quick, but is nowhere near as fun or involving as the M3. It felt like what it is: a big, oafy family sedan with a powerful engine. I never thought I would be so disappointed. After 2 days of owning it, I returned it back to the dealership, took a hit & got my M3 back. Now I could not be happier. I'm just more comfortable with these smaller, quicker coupes. Only a new 911 Turbo could replace it (in my opinion).

This car loves to rev and is very, very fast! It also turns heads like no other car I have owned (I have had two other non-"M" BMW coupes and nothing has drawn so much positive attention like this!). The ride is not as bad as I had feared it would be (two friends complained about theirs). Fuel economy is about what I feared (hense the positive ranking)! I just hope I can keep my license long enough to enjoy it!

If you like fast then you will love this car, or should I say beast. This car begs to be driven hard. The tach hits 7000 rpm so easily that you don't even realize you are doing 80 mph within seconds. As the car shifts through the gears you can feel the raw and savage power of this awesome engine pulling you back into your seat. There are very few cars that will attempt to mess with you and if they are foolish enough to, then they always wind up in my rear view mirror. The car handles unbelievably. Wherever you point it, it goes. The traction control has helped me out a few times when I really pressed it. The brakes are extremely responsive, you can stop on a dime. This is a great fun car.

After owning eight previous BMW's, I can honestly say this is my favorite. This car is probably too much for the street in most instances, but don't let that stop you from picking one up. Maintaing one of these cars is a bit more expensive (namely the high end tires), but with the maintenance programs that BMW now offers on their new vehicles this is less of an issue. Very quick, amazing handling, and probably the best brakes ever put into a production vehicle add up to a whole lot of fun every time you drive it. In the immortal words of Ferris Bueller "If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up".

My 2004 M3 is a blast to drive, and gets appreciative looks from all walks of life. The smooth, hard-pulling I-6 engine, best-in-class suspension and aggresive styling are all worth the price of entry. The only gripes I have are the hard to view and hard to operate nav system, the fact that satellite radio is NOT an option in the top of the line nav-equipped models, top top-of-the-line Harmon Karden stereo is a joke, and a persistent short in the steering wheel radio controls.Power, cornering, driver's appeal and a sort of useable back seat. Plus, all its competitors list for thousands more. In fact, I have my name on the list for the new V-8 version coming in 2007.

It has been the best car I have ever had, not only does it perform like a super car, it has 4 seats. The reason why it astonishes me is that other rivals who have built a car in the past two years haven't come close to matching the performance and the frill of it. Just remember this is over 5 years old. And its soon to be replaced by a new model in 2007, I cant wait!

I got my M3 with competition pack. and I am in love. Build quality is good but not overly amazing. If you get an M3 do yourself a favor and get six-speed, my friends SMG is sluggish and real drivers know it just can never compare to the manual Trans. Real fast takes most other cars with ease, not close to an AMG but without the $100K price tag the M3 can put anything else on all 4's

The past year with my M3 has been a fantastic experience. I special ordered my car to have the options I wanted, and I highly recommend the process - it only takes 6-8 weeks. Fantastic overall performance, comfortable, and relatively economical, the M3 is the ultimate driving machine (for me anyway!). Reliability has been great, almost 10,000 miles so far and zero problems. The build quality and quality of components is first rate. Included maintenance for the first 4 years/50k is a real $$ saver.

This car could sell on looks alone, but fortunately it goes like stink, has awesome stopping power, and handles far better than you can drive. You should be sure to drive an SMG before you buy it; I hate them and the Gertrag double clutch system is WAY better. Go with the 6 speed and save $$ and complexity. The ride is harsh on uneven pavement, be sure you want to pay that price for the performance you cannot legally use. The BMW "free service" is insufficient for a performance car, review the previous recommendations (before the free service plan was initiated) and follow that if you plan to keep the car very long. the power is above 4K revs, this car is NOT torquey the way a big V8 is.

Great looks with the performance to back it up. Everything you want in a sports coupe (performance, design, practicality, and overall appearance. Uncertain about SMG, but am quickly falling in love. The handeling is second to none, and the engine is always willing to give the driver more! All of this with ample space in the rear seats, and storage in the trunk.
