According to the resident "experts" on the Honda Ridgeline Owners Forums, the current design will carry on through 2012. What happens after that is anyone's guess. Supposedly Honda has prototypes of a new, completely redesigned RL running around, but no spy photos of them seem to exist. Honda has not officially announced a cancellation of the RL, and most of the die-hard RL lovers take that to mean the redesigned RL ... Read More

As I recall, the transmissions used in the Ridgeline starting in 2006 were the first "new" 5-speed transmissions used by Honda since they had all their transmission problems in most of their vehicles--like the problems you have had with your MDX. The same transmission has been used in the Odyssey since 2008. We just picked up a new 2010 RL RTL to replace our 2008 RL RTS. It turns out that ... Read More

Hope this helps someone. On 12/13/10 we bought a new (left-over) 2010 RTL w/o NAV. Price before all taxes & "handling" fees was $31210. We thought we did pretty well since there is no difference whatsoever from 2010 to 2011. Only way to tell the difference is the part of the VIN that covers the model year. We are hedging our bets, as it sure seems Honda is NOT very committed ... Read More

Not a remodel year, just a midmodel makeover. The real makeover will not come until the 2011 model year, so in late 2010. A couple of years away. The larger wheels are nice and the back-up camera. The fogs are a good addition. Supposedly the instrument cluster is changed but no pics as of yet. Brad

It is well known that Honda has a 6-cylinder diesel in the works. It's slated for the Pilot, Odyssey, Ridgeline and probably some Acura models as well. I expect to see it in 2010 or 2011. Here are a few links stating that: http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061205/FREE/61204019/1024/c- - ara_submit http://www.autoblog.com/2006/12/04/honda-may-outfit-ridgeline-and-others-with-v6- - -diesel/ http://www.leftlanenews.com/honda-to-make-diesel-v6-for-us-by-10.html As to the diesel having too much torque: I'm sure Honda will engineer it properly to handle the increased torque. Bobber 123, Here is how I look at it. Every vehicle I leased, I could buy at the end of the term lower then the residual. They would rather sell you the car a little cheaper then play the auction game. --- Glad to hear that some people see the wisdom of leasing too.I do agree though that leasing has its inherent disadvantages.
