Really more than I expected.
Vehicle
2006 Ford Fusion I4 SEL 4dr Sedan (2.3L 4cyl 5M)
Review
We purchased this vehicle used with 22,000 miles on it and we now have 70,000 miles on it 20 months later. The only thing we have done to it so far is to consistently service it, and put a new set of tires on it. The Fusion seems to do a pretty good job of combining decent performance, handling, gas mileage, and comfort. Although it has leather, it is not very good quality and the headrests seem to be bricks covered with a little foam pading and a little more leather. Everything seems to be very easily reached and other than the steering mounted temperature adjusting button has worked without flaw. Overall, this vehicle has served us in a way that we would buy another one in a heartbeat.
Favorite Features
Styling, handling, gas mileage (20- 29mpg), interior and trunk dimensions. I am 6'3" and I fit relatively comfortably in the front or backseat.
Suggested Improvements
Better seat coverings, better headrests, shorter turning diameter.

Best Car I've Ever Driven
Vehicle
2006 Ford Fusion V6 SEL 4dr Sedan (3.0L 6cyl 6A)
Review
For looks, comfort, performance and fuel economy, this car is extremely impressive. The only negative I can see is that the high-mount brake light in the back window slightly obscures the view through the mirror.

I love my Fusion. The V6 has good punch and great economy. The styling is also a big plus to me. The Camry and Accord were far too ugly for me to handle, not to mention boring. The Fusion brings a nice breath of fresh air to the boring mid-size segment!
Favorite Features
6-spd trans. Edgy styling. Great handling characteristics. Comfortable interior.
Suggested Improvements
Audiophile sound system is not that great. 3.5L V6 should replace the 3.0L Replace the ugly steering wheel!

No complaints. I think Ford has finally pushed there #1 selling car (taurus) to second spot. The Fusion runs, handles, and looks great. I am a former ford owner of a Mustang. Many head gasket problems. I told myself I would never again go Ford. I did, and happy I did so.
Favorite Features
6 CD changer, heated leather seats, huge trunk.
Suggested Improvements
Turning radius, view out back window. Car sits a little high in back.

It's about time domestic
Vehicle
2006 Ford Fusion I4 SE 4dr Sedan (2.3L 4cyl 5M)
Review
Tried the Fusion after my bad experience with my 04 GM SUV and also for better gas mileage. I was hesitant in purchasing used but was good value for the money. It had 59k on it but runs and feels like new. This is a gas saver with a full size ride and feel. I have cut my gas bill in half. So far the best used car I have ever purchased. Ford finally got one right. Don't be afraid to at least test drive one. Things are finally getting better for us die hard north american suporters. Remember build it and they will come. Thanks for restoring my faith in North American!
Favorite Features
Telescopic steering column, cruise and stereo control on steering wheel, storage compartments, on the floor transmission shift middle console with cup holders easy access, power driver's seat, roomy for big guys, comfortable seats, XL trunk, fantastic stereo system, heated mirrors, sporty look.
Suggested Improvements
Low to the ground for entry and exit, mirrors could be larger

Fun to drive, missing some key things
Vehicle
2006 Ford Fusion I4 SE 4dr Sedan (2.3L 4cyl 5M)
Review
The 2006 Fusion is a solid car and fun to drive. Furthermore, it is really good on gas (I average 25-26 MPG mostly city driving, 32-33 MPG on the highway). I have yet to have a problem with it. Unlike other Fords I have had, it is built pretty well. The only thing I don't like about the way it drives is sometimes it feels like there is a second delay in when i hit the gas and it starts moving.
Favorite Features
Tilt and telescopic wheel, six disc changer, steering wheel controls, power seat (don't see that in a sub 20K car). Audio system is easily replaceable
Suggested Improvements
I kind of wish the car had an AUX jack or I could retrofit SYNC in it. Also, the car doesn't have side airbags (corrected in 2007). Finally, elecroluminisent gauges would be really helpful.

Poor gas mileage
Vehicle
2006 Ford Fusion V6 SEL 4dr Sedan (3.0L 6cyl 6A)
Review
Fun to drive, looks great, had lots of good comments on it. Was very road noisy on cement pavement. Tires really hum. Changed to Nito tires and much better. Gas mileage is terrible. 20MPG avg with most miles at speeds of 45 -55. Best I ever got was 24.6 on a trip all highway mileage. I do not pound the pedal so it is not driver abuse.
Favorite Features
Heated seat. Northern WI car
Suggested Improvements
Better sound proofing and gas mileage

Hate My Fusion
Vehicle
2006 Ford Fusion I4 SE 4dr Sedan (2.3L 4cyl 5M)
Review
This car is not what I was told when I bought it. If you have kids, buy another car. The price is great, but the cup holder built into the seat with cloth velour seats is crazy. I was told by the dealer to just buy seat covers. Well, guess what, there were none available anywhere for about one year. Then my car has no adequate storage inside, because it has a lot of "little" compartments, but none large enough to actually store something in, especially the glove compartment. I have owned a Ford since 1999 (SUVs) but with the cost of gas. I hate my car. The inside doors cannot be cleaned when dirtied by a seven year old. he bottom rides too low, it's too long, etc. Wipers stink.
Favorite Features
I like the trunk and it rides very well for a 4cyl.
Suggested Improvements
Rear is too high to see well out the back. Change cloth interior to something sportier for child owners. If the car is so low the bottom cover is ripped off by something (according to dealer, a speed bump) then accept as a defect; fix it. I had problems w/alignment, oil leak, vibrations, rattling
