WOLFSBURG, Germany — Volkswagen unveiled the Amarok Power-Pickup, a more muscular version of its midsize truck, at the annual Worthersee enthusiast meeting in Austria.

The Amarok Power-Pickup has a 3.0-liter V6 TDI engine that packs 269 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque, and drives all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration from zero to 62 mph takes 7.9 seconds.

The single-cab concept has been lowered 3.2 inches and rides on 22-inch wheels and tires. Other features include extended wheel arches, bi-xenon headlamps, chrome grille, larger air intake, dual exhaust and a carbon-fiber diffuser.

The cockpit is rendered in black, red and white, with leather-trimmed seats and door panels, plus an infotainment system with a 500-watt subwoofer and an 8-inch touchscreen.

The Amarok is built in Argentina and Germany and is sold throughout the world, except in North America.
