CHERRY HILL, New Jersey — Car shoppers get a peek at the redesigned 2015 Subaru Legacy ahead of its formal debut at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show.

The wraps will come off the new Legacy on February 6.

The Legacy gets a sleeker silhouette and a more coupe-like profile. Subaru also noted that the midsize sedan also gets a "faster windshield rake angle and narrower A-pillars" to create a "sporty, modern" look.

The automaker did not release technical details, launch timing or pricing on the 2015 Legacy.

The 2015 Legacy will also offer an improved Subaru EyeSight system, which is designed to help avoid crashes. Pricing has not been provided on that option.

The Legacy competes in a crowded segment that includes the Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and Volkswagen Passat.

Edmunds says: A tantalizing look at a car that's always been something of a hidden gem in the midsize sedan segment.
