AUBURN HILLS, Michigan — A special 2013 SRT Viper GTS is set to cross the auction block to benefit the Sons of Italy Foundation.

The one-off SRT Viper GTS features a tri-coat pearl white body, black vapor chrome wheels and the colors of the Italian flag on the seats. The GTS badge on the glovebox also features the colors of the Italian flag.

The charitable group has not set an auction date at this point. The Sons of Italy Foundation has not provided a pre-auction estimate on the car. The foundation is the charitable arm of the order Sons of Italy in America or OSIA.

SRT's YouTube video of the car and online posting made no mention of Chrysler-Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne's recent written apology to an Italian-American anti-bias group for saying at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show that an Alfa Romeo needed a "wop" engine.

Marchionne issued the apology earlier this month, saying his January comment had been "in jest." He apologized for offending anyone.

One Voice, a Bloomfield, New Jersey group dedicated to fighting the stereotyping of Italian Americans, published the apology on its Facebook page.

Edmunds says: The special model is a beautiful and subtle tribute to Italian-Americans. Expect it to fetch top dollar at auction.
