JAKARTA, Indonesia — Honda has released the first official sketch of the new Honda MPV that will make its world debut at the 2013 Indonesia Auto Show.

The unnamed MPV is not bound for the U.S.

"The new Honda MPV has been developed especially for the needs of customers and road characteristics in Indonesia," said Honda in a statement on Friday.

The Honda MPV features a low-slung, aggressive look with a roof spoiler and oversized wheels, a surprising approach for usually conservative Honda.

Honda's Brio-based MPV marks the Japanese automaker's debut in Indonesia's entry-level MPV market.

Few details, including pricing, were provided. Honda says the new MPV will be powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine.

Competitors to the Honda MPV include the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.

Edmunds says: Honda apparently feels free to take some risks with design, if local conditions merit it.

Looks like a miniature Honda Odyssey van----its amazing to continually see vehicles that a manufacturer thinks we here in the "USA would not want."...........This would be nice for the USA. Make it so Number 1
