GOODWOOD, England — The revised 2015 Ford Focus ST hatchback debuted at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed, with improvements including a lower stance and an updated suspension.

The Focus ST takes aim at the 2015 Subaru WRX and the 2015 Volkswagen GTI.

The 2015 Focus ST is expected to arrive at dealerships in early 2015, according to Jayson Demchak, a Ford spokesman. Pricing will be announced near the end of summer, he said.

The base 2014 Ford Focus ST starts at $24,450, including an $850 destination charge.

Ford said the Focus ST has a more aggressive look than the outgoing model, with a lower, wider stance, new sculpted hood and slimmer headlights.

A sports body kit includes body-colored side skirts and a rear roof spoiler.

The 2015 Focus ST is equipped with the carryover 252-horsepower 2.0-liter EcoBoost inline four-cylinder engine linked to a six-speed manual transmission.

A redesigned cabin in the 2015 Focus ST includes a new center console with more storage space and a new media bin with USB smart charging port. Other interior changes include a new flat-bottom steering wheel and updated front door storage with cupholders.

Magnetic Metallic is a new exterior color and the Focus ST's signature Tangerine Scream exterior color is available on the ST2 model.

Edmunds says: The Goodwood Festival of Speed is crammed with lots of product news, but the global debut of the 2015 Focus ST is one of the standouts.

Comments

  • The face lift is nice but the addition of the Revoknuckle Front Suspension Geometry (from the European Focus RS) would have been even better. Just say no to torque steer :-)
