Just the Facts:
  • This is our first look at what the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette convertible will look like when it arrives next year.
  • The C7 Corvette convertible is expected to retain the current model's soft top configuration.
  • Production is expected to begin in the spring of 2014.

DETROIT — This is our first look at what the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette convertible will look like when it arrives next year.

Based on the 2014 Chevy Corvette coupe introduced here yesterday, our latest renderings peel back the top on the redesigned sports car to reveal an equally stunning convertible.

Even with the distinctive new roof folded away, the C7 Corvette still looks like a serious sports car. It makes the Ferrari California look even more pathetic in comparison.

Everything else on the 2014 Corvette convertible is likely to remain the same as the coupe. That means a 450-horsepower V8 up front, a seven-speed transaxle out back and an interior you won't be embarrassed to be seen enjoying (provided you don't order red accents like the showcar).

With sales of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette coupe scheduled to start in September, the Corvette convertible should have no trouble making it to showrooms by the spring of 2014.

Edmunds says: Even with its most distinctive lines folded away in the trunk, the Chevy Corvette convertible will still look the part of a rear sports car.

Another Corvette win. The new C7 convertible looks cool and exciting. I agree with Edmund's in that the Ferrari California looks pathetic in comparison. I still am waiting to hear when a ZR1 edition of the C7 will be made. Anyone know?

Actually better looking than the hardtop. Wonder what the top will look like when up.

Why does the rear of Corvettes have to be so big?

Looks like the recent "improvements" at Edmunds, has reduced the number of comments. Has it done the same for overall traffic? Edmunds/Inside Lines used to be one of my favorite sites. I find the new site to be cumbersome. I haven't found a way to view comments with out making a comment. To quote the great BB King "The thrill is gone..."

I'm not a huge fan of the coupe, but this thing looks pretty darn good. The longer rear deck lid seems more in proportion to the rest of the car.

WOW! I think that is the best looking convertible I've ever seen! Interesting how the a pillar is body colored and not black like the coupe.

I like the red accents, Ed.

  • I like it better than the hard top

Give it up, red accents are fine.
