i love Volvos. I feel very safe in them. My first was 2002 S60 T4. I had never experienced that kind of power before. i really fell in love with it. I bought a 2008 S80 3.2. It has been very reliable, but what a bummer to have to get used to minimal acceleration. Has front and back air conditioned seats (the seat being perfect for the shape of the body). Unfortunately, even though it is reliable, when something breaks, be prepared. Mine needed a new air conditioner system for $2200. Steering is very tight, so i get an arm workout whenever i’m parking.

This was my first car in the U.S almost 4 years ago when the car had 110K miles and I needed something reliable, safe, and status symbol so this was a true fit. I drove this car like crazy whether for personal use, Uber/Lyft, Delivery literally everything and anything and that too with almost bald tires even in snow and the interesting fact this car drove like a king whereas other cars like cops Taurus was stuck in snow but this beast with bald tires kept on driving (Changed tires later on). Had no expenses other than oil change and new tires until it reached 140k miles when it started everything such as power steering got locked in the middle of the road (Changed power steering belt), replaced control arms, installed new brakes, bad control arms ate tires in 15k miles so replaced those too, new spark plugs, wheel alignment is must every 6 months due to the car's weight which is ok. Now the battery terminals are lose so have to press them to start the car (generate power) but i have taped it really hard so can start from my remote now, changed mass air flow sensor on my own. That's pretty much. The best part is that i have got a local mechanic who charges $40/hr so i bring the parts whether it's Ebay/online websites to save money. In all 4 years along with tires i have spent $2500 on it and drove easy 45k miles out of it. I hope nothing happens to the engine, transmission, belts if any so that i can keep this car forever because i don't wanna sell it. I have bought and sold 3 new cars YTD- Elantra, Escape and bronco sport but this beast will be beast. I love Volvo

Very Comfortable

I am very impressed with this car. It's the most comfortable car I've ever driven (most recent cars were Passat & Murano). Very elegant, simplistic interior, eye-catching exterior and solid construction. My only complaint so far is the fuel consumption (20 mpg avg - high for a V6)

Nice car but has a very rough ride

My S80 is a well built car, but after owning it a couple of weeks, I'm extremely disappointed in how rough the ride is. I called the dealership to see if they had could order shocks that aren't as stiff but they tell me that none are available. Their recommendation was to decrease the tire pressure; not much of response if you ask me. Next time, I'll be sure to test drive a car on something other than the dealer's recommended route.

We also own an 04 XC 70 and I do not like driving it so I was pleasantly suprised by the S80 and the different feel it had in comparison. It has great styling and it is nice to drive. The interior is quiet and the sound system is good. The engine could use a little more go, as we never test drove the 8 cyl or turbo but would recommend doing so. It is economical for gas (why we chose the 6 cyl) and love the AWD.
