SE 4Motion is the sweet spot for this attractive S
Edmunds review is very consistent with my view. Except I find my 27 combined MPG to be excellent. This SUV weighs in at 500lbs heavier than all of the competitors! That's overlooked by many. And there will be a small MPG penalty. German cars tend to be the heaviest. And I do agree that the engine turbo lag from stop can be a bit too much. But it does accelerate from 50-70 exceptionally well. Interior roominess is remarkable. NVH excellent. This is my first VW and I am very happy with it.

Love at first drive
I purchased this vehicle and I am so glad I did. I traded out of a 2017 Ford Escape Titanium. I liked the Escape alot; however, I never really loved it. So after my brother purchased a 2017 Passat R-Line and he raved about I started looking. I sat in one and loved it. Then I drove one and it was everything I thought the Escape would be. The interior space is so much bigger than my previous car and I am 6 foot 3 and its excellent. The seats are actually the correct size for someone as tall as me. So much room for passengers as well. The sound system rocks! The acceleration is great. Its not as fast as the Escape but there were numerous times that I thought the Escape was too fast for how light of a vehicle it was. I called it all turbo no engine and now its all engine with a little bit of turbo. I have never felt so safe. The quality of the interior is so so so nice. I don't have much else to say but I completely recommend this vehicle.......as of today 1/15/2019....I am still in love with the vehicle! almost 15000 no issues. Love love love.....cant say enough positives about it!

Love it!
This is my 4th VW vehicle. I had a 1989 VW Fox, a 2011 Golf, and my husband had a 2012 Jetta. Two of our daughters graduated from college recently, so we gave them the Golf and the Jetta (no payments- they have student loans to pay off!). I bought the Tiguan for myself when I gave the Golf to my youngest daughter. The Golf has almost 200k miles on it, and I've had the maintenance done at our dealer. Back to the Tiguan: I wanted a car that sat a little higher. I'm getting older, and my knees just don't want to climb in and out of the Golf any more. The Tiguan is the perfect height for me, and my husband likes it, too. The telescoping steering column is wonderful. Out of all the cars I've owned- Fords, Plymouths, Jeeps, VWs, Dodges, KIAs- the Tiguan is tops (although, I really did love that 1973 Ford Gran Torino.) The handling is great, the ride is comfortable, and the gas mileage is better than what was rated on the sticker. I average 33 mpg between city and highway driving.

HANDSOME VERSATILE AWD SUV
Great looking vehicle with plenty of room in the 2 seat configuration. Handles well but power could be a bit better when loaded especially. Do not use regular gas in this vehicle or you will be very unhappy with the lack of smooth performance from the turbo 4 cylinder engine. While the 4 cylinder is adequate in normal day to day driving it strains when pushed and or fully loaded. The comfort, quality and appearance of the interior is great. The radio, phone system and navigation are easy to use. The CD player is mounted in the glove box and is best accessed by the front passenger not the driver! The skyroof/sunroof is terrific. The vehicle seems tight and well built. The sporty 18 inch wheels and Pirelli tires exceeded what I expected in this vehicle. V.W. did a great job overall. I got a new color, white silver, and it is classy and cool here in the Florida heat. The storm grey/black interior is a nice compliment to the upscale interior,

Very good vehicle
It is bigger and suitable for family with three. The acceleration is not so good. But why do you want to start it quickly.
