My second NEW Passat SE and my forth late model VW
Passat SE is NO WAY a better or even equal car to my last Passat SE. Engine is UNDER POWERED and VERY noisy. Transmission seems to slip ofter and dealer says it's normal. I regret buying a later model and not keeping my old one.

Passat GT Excellent Value and Overall Capable
Excellent larger than mid-size, lots of room and nicely equipped. 2018 Passat GT has classic design, smooth lines, and powerful V6 engine that growls. Solid power-punch and go. Sunroof, 19in wheels, and upgraded design cues make it sporty. Since 2018 was the only year, the style stands out now years later. The model year also comes with a factory 6yr/72k mile bumper to bumper warranty. No significant maintenance issues this far but the warranty is there if needed. With a used price of just $23k in 2019 w/10k miles, it is easily the best value of anything on the road today.

Fantastic deals to be had
Bought my R line with the LED package for little over $21k out the door. Absolutely terrific deal for what essentially will be my daily work driver. Although with the amount of space and ride quality, it would double as our weekend family trip vehicle as well. Only wished it had vw Wi-Fi hotspot option and more usb charging ports for the kids in back, but as a daily driver it works perfect. It may be made here in the US but its very Teutonic in feel and nature. I've owned plenty of Honda's and Toyotas, their reliability has been generally excellent. The driving of them of them soulless and sterile. The passat does not have that problem. The reliability remains to be seen but it has a 6 year warranty so I'm non too worried. Thanks VW for making an affordable fun daily driver.

Remote Start Quit Working 9 days after the purchas
Bought a 2019 VW Passat R-Line for the technology and assist options on 3/2/19. Remote start quit working on 3/11/19. Took it to the dealer on 3/12/19 and they said it is a known issue with an unknown fix. They are hoping the new software update will fix the issue, but they have no idea on when that will be. Pretty disappointed in VW. Also, the remote start (when it did work) starts the vehicle, but is designed to turn off when a door is unlocked / open for theft prevention. Really ? Why not do what all other OEs are doing. Enter the cockpit with a key in your possession and press the start button and the engine keeps running. You cannot shift out of park with out the key. Poor design - horrible engineering on this one.

First VW - Not the last
Roomy interior, huge trunk, MPG better than estimated. Smooth/quiet ride. Now after 3 years, still feel the same. The car runs flawless, gas mileage 30/40/35 city/hwy/comb. Can't give it up. Very classy looking in black w/gray interior.

Over Looked Gem
I am a car freak. Love my 2018 Passat GT V-6. Looks, Engine, Torque, Transmission, Power Curve, Interior, Dash, Brakes, etc. Easy to like because I don't like today's pin ball machines dash design or the modern angular/insect design today's autos Frankly, I love the interior. The only thing I don't like about the car is the suspension. Frankly, it doesn't have one. I like it so much, I put up with the budget basement suspension. I also immediately replaced the Continental tires, worthless in the winter, and replaced them with all season performance tires from General Tire. Remarkable improvement. Traction is not about AWD, but rather tire choice.

Great car for a great price
Bought the car used with 31k miles and it is still in like new condition. The car rides very smooth and has so much space. I love almost everything about this car, the only thing I would change is to add a little more power. It’s not slow but if it was a little more powerful it would truly be an all around amazing car.
