I'm 60 and have had many cars. The miata is hands down the best car i have ever owned. I love the way it drives. So much fun winding it out through the gears. Best manual I've ever driven.
Don't listen to those who say it's a summer only car. I live in New England and I drive mine in the winter. I couldn't bear not to. I bought a second set of rims with blizzak times. Swap to … the snows around Christmas and take them off in March. Only downside is it would be tough to have this as your only car. The trunk is tiny. I had to get a luggage rack for my beach chairs.
