Major front head on and side impact accident

The at fault driver ran a red light and we t-boned him at 30 mph. Total loss, front end half the size. The engine went up instead of into the cabin. Driver w/ only seat belt injurys and broken wrist and hand plus some bumps and bruises. Passenger who was 6'5" had knee injuries and bumped head on second impact. Feel like we escaped death very well and thanks to design and airbags faired very well considering. Will be replacing this tried and true very safe car w/ the same one. Had to right a review based on the accident but it has also been nearly the perfect vehicle.

Pros: Versatile. Need to carry 5 people in comfort? Venza can do it. Large doors open wide. Chair-height seats are plenty comfortable and accommodating. Step-in is easy. No big step UP like big SUVs. No big step down like a compact car. Need to haul cargo? The combination of a power lift rear hatch and easy folding rear seats turns the Venza into a super grocery getter/ home improvement store car. It’s also ideal for traveling with a dog or two. The V6 engine is another “pro”. Very smooth and powerful. Toyota reliability is a big plus. Cons: only real drawback for me is the 20 inch tires. Expensive to replace. I could have done just as well with 18 inchers. Overall very pleased. In fact I am currently on my second Venza. We had a 2009 and liked it so much that we replaced it with a 2015. I hate that Toyota stopped building them. 8/27/18 Update: We still are very impressed with the Venza - currently at 39,000 miles and NO issues at all. Toyota got it right with the Venza. Build quality is Lexus level. No squeaking, rattling, etc. In fact, I wonder if Toyota built this model a little too well and ended up being one of the reasons it went out of production. It’s so practical it’s not “cool”. It’s so reliable it’s not “adventurous”. I continue to strongly recommend the Venza. Look for a V6, low miles and XLE or Limited trim level and you will have a quality luxurious yet practical vehicle that you will be proud of for years to come. 08/28/19 Update: We still really like this Venza and it meets our needs comfortably. We did have one unexpected repair about two months ago - a rear wheel bearing went bad and began making a howling noise. Landers Toyota in Little Rock made the repair and so far so good. It just seemed like a weird random thing to go bad, especially on a Toyota ... just wasn’t expecting that. Otherwise, the positive ownership experience continues.

You will not be disappointed with this vehicle. First of all, It's a smooth quiet vehicle, the seats are very comfortable for long trips. I was looking for a wagon type vehicle since I take my mom to doctors etc. This vehicle makes it easy for her to enter in and out of vehicle with no problem. Cargo room is ample. I transported 4 women and all their luggage to Las Vegas. I couldn't believe we all felt comfortable and still had room for additional stuff if needed to take. I received so many complements after returning from our trip. I just love my car, it's so enjoyable to drive, love the surround sound, back up camera , and quiet air conditioner. Yes, mileage could be better, but I purchase the V6 for zoom!

This is really nicely executed higher riding wagon. It's almost the same length as the Highlander, but priority is given to passenger room and comfort, which I love. I'm 6'2" and I hate having to push my seat up for rear passengers and being cramped with no room in the back when traveling with things in the 2nd row. It's just very roomy and comfortable for long trips. The 20" wheels look great on the car and they keep it well planted and flat in turns, but the ride is a little rough on bumpy stuff. The voice navigation is a nice feature but it's extremely slow and rarely accurate. I just use my phone. They bluetooth is nice but a little slow to switching on and off when getting in and out of the car. I did not get JBL audio on mine so the sound system is adequate, but I'd love to update the amp and speakers at some point. It's anemic sounding. I really love the overall mix of luxury and simplicity. Women drive in this car a lot and I appreciate the layout of the car but I also appreciate the plastic on the doors. It's just easy to keep clean. Also, doing basic maintenance is really easy. The oil dipstic, transmission dipstick, location of O2 sensors, oil filter and drain plug, ect is all readily accessible if you if you're a DIY person like me. Getting to the rear row of spark plugs on the transverse V6 is another story though. This is all very important to me because I tend to keep cars a long time and newer cars are getting less and less servicable. This is a very nice and practical car that uses regular gas and has good torque in the V6. It's a great deal used but it was a little too pricey new. I like this car so much I wan't to purchase a 2nd one for work.
