I always wanted a Toyota Tacoma and I found the perfect one at Toyota of Watertown MA. The only thing I don’t like about the interior of the Tacoma was he lack of room inside, but I guess it’s understandable since it’s not a full size truck. Overall so far so good. It’s nice looking, good in gas compare to other pickup trucks, and it rides smooth.

Getting used to it

Update 2: 2.5 years and I've grown to love the Taco. What vehicle does more for less? I couldn't imagine what I would buy to replace it other than a 2021 Taco. Update 1: I had a TSB installed and the drivability issue is much improved. I've now owned it for 1.5 years. I have a Tesla model S in the garage, but I take the Taco 9 times out of 10. I'm averaging 22 mpg overall. I only get less than 20mpg when I tow something. Everything is still tight and it still looks like new and awesome looks don't grow old. KBB says its private party sale value is within $3k of what I paid for it new. Old review: It has very poor drivability for a modern vehicle. The transmission shifts too soon, then acceleration stops, then you give it more gas, then it down shifts! 1,2,3,4,5,6,5,6. For a modern engine it vibrates too much.

My 18' Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport quad, 5' bed, auto tranny 4x4 has had 2 recalls and 1 engine light come on. All were fixed at no charge. Truck has amazing power and not experiencing any other issues thank God except 1. My rear drums rusted out the paint completely after 18 monthe/18,000 miles. Dealer replaced both of them at no charge. Was very pleased with this. Over the power, the fuel economy have been amazingly good. This is my 4th Toyota pickup and at this point still wouldnt buy any other. Although Dodge pick ups are good looking my friend bought his dodge pickup same year as me and had 9 recalls. I believe ALL pickups are having issues due to how many features these car companies are loading them up with.

Bearing Issue.

I bought this truck brand new. I noticed from day one from speeds of 20 up to 55 I can feel and hear a roaring from the front end. I was told by a Toyota Mechanic that it's a spindle bearing and Toyota is aware of the issue. If they know about it then why not fix it. The truck has 8800 miles and I'm thinking about trading for something else. I put a lift on it nice wheels and a few other thing. It stands out and I get constant compliments. It's just not the quality you would expect from a Toyota. The paint even has dirt in it from the factory. Geeezzzz. Really Toyota!!! Also same transmission problems as everybody else.
