I test drove the car yesterday and just ordered one! I was skeptical go in and walked away in AWE! Very good acceleration, I got on the highway and was doing 70 before I knew it, impressive since I drive a '03 Accord. The acceleration is so smooth that you don't realize how fast you are going. Unofficially I did 0-60 in 10 seconds. Interion space is excellent, better leg room than the Camry or Accord and just slightly narrower. You could easily put 3 kids in the back and very comfortable with 2 6 ft adults and a 10 year old. If your considering a Camry or Accord you definately need to look at this for about the same price.

I was surprised at the power the Prius had when I needed to pass someone on the highway. I made a number of passes on a curvy two lane highway with no problems. My gas mileage is around 47 mpg, which is good, but less than I expected. The new Prius is fun to drive and attracts a lot of people with questions about its performance.

Everything you all say about this auto is right on, except one thing. You have overlooked one small detail. I live in snow country, guess what? I found out it is exactly 4.9 inches off the ground, and you might as well plan on keeping it in the garage in the winter time here. Otherewise it is just wonderful. THANK GOD my Toyota dealer is understanding, I now drive another Toyota product and am now happy once again.

We just got a 2005 Prius to go along with our 2000 Honda Insight, which has given us 121,000 trouble-free miles so far. We got Option Package #6, which is EVERYTHING. It's a true luxo-cruiser, as quiet and smooth as any Lincoln Town Car and with enough techno-spiffy gadgetry to keep anyone amused, including a nifty GPS and a JBL in-dash 6 CD changer, radio and cassette player that sounds better than the stereo in anyone's home. The climate control is silent, unobtrusive and draft-free, keeping the interior the temperature you set and all the glass clear totally unnoticeably. I have had no trouble keeping its mileage above 50 city and 60 highway so far without any sacrifices whatsoever!
