Practical but Pedestrian
A bit unstable, but low drag and a fairly quiet ride. Even minor acceleration elicits a strained whine from the engine. Real world driving won't get claimed mpg (I get 40-45). Fine interior overall. The seat comfort is fair, front visibility excellent, rear visibility poor with severe blind spots. The "dashboard" strip beneath the windshield is great (reflects on windshield though). The center-mounted display screen is in theory a good idea, but boring and annoying as configured. The interior room is very good, and trunk space is fair. The finish of the car isn't bad for a car in this price range. It is a practical car, but not very fun to drive.

Best Car in the World
This is my wife's car and she doesn't try at all to conserve fuel, and she still gets 45 MPG. Doesn't matte if it is stop and go commute or over the hills to the beach. She loves it and was very happy to have waited 6 months for it in her color (red). The most amazing thing to me is that the engine is cutting in and out constantly and you don't feel any change - smooth as silk. I drove it a little and was able to make a steady 30 mph for about a mile without using the engine AT ALL! Very comfortable, quiet (especially at stop lights!), roomy, expecially in the back. Handles easily, and can accelarate up freeway on ramps as well as a Camry.
Like this car, but have had problems
I was one of first in my area to purchase this model. For the first 18 months it was a great car, although the display needed to be replaced. Then it broke down on me (computer failure) at 18 months (15,000 miles). The computer was replaced, and immediately my MPG went down significantly. My 54 MPG highway went to 44 MPG highway for the same route (same seasonal temperature). My local MPG went from 41 to 35 MPG. Dealer thought the software recall/upgrade would help but it has not. Others seem to report this problem. Dealer has not offered any solutions. Aside from these problems, I have enjoyed this car, but I want my great MPG back!
Waited for months, love this car!
This car is a no compromise vehicle. Not only do you get terrific styling, size and performance, but it is incredibly gentle on the environment at an affordable price. The "wow" features such as smart entry and start, GPS navigation and the LCD information screen are options usually found on cars twice as expensive. This is an amazing improvement on the previous Prius.
