More Hype Than Fact
I now have over 4000 miles on this car and wish I had stayed with my Civic. I can never drive this car long enough to make up the cost of the Hybird system. For a high tech car you can't even get an MP3 player in this car. Gas mileage is in the high 30's to low 40's at best. The seats are not comfortable for even a 45 minute drive, and no power seats at that. The car is unstable in a cross wind.

Outstanding vehicle. Comfort of a larger class sedan, fuel ecomony better than a sub-compact. I've had this vehicle for over two years, have driven it all over the United Kingdom and Colorado. I am very happy with its performance. Average fuel economy is about 45-50 mpg, nowhere near the advertised 65 mpg, but still very respectable.

Computer problems
We immediately started having problems with the prius computer saying check engine and take to service station immediately. Our dealership said it was safe to drive, and that toyota would have the fix for it in several weeks. Meanwhile, we were responsible for paying for the rental car while they took their time to have it checked out. Toyota customer service is terrible.
Proud owner of a Prius
I love this car! In the past I viewed Honda Accord as the best made vehicle. Since owning this car I now think Toyota Prius is the best made vehicle. It surpasses all expectations.

Bad!
I owned this car for three and a half years, used about 60,000 miles and it was awesome until it rained, snowed or was windy at all. I felt completely unsafe, and scared during any storm or driving on snow. The seats were decently sized, but hard as rocks. The gas mileage was the reason I bought it, and that stayed true to what was said about how great it was. I ended up buying a Honda SUV because this car scared me so much to drive even on a sunny day with lots of wind. I now feel so much safer, and would never purchase another small Toyota again.
