Never thought I would switch from Honda!

Update: They asked for an update and I must say, still love the car and really the only thing I would change is adding a charge port in the 3rd row. Took me 4 months to decide on a new SUV (which drove my husband crazy). Thought for sure I would stick with the Honda Pilot bc I loved my 2007 so much but wasn't thrilled with the reviews for the new Pilot and did not care as much for the interior design. Drove a few other makes but fell in love with the Highlander as soon as I drove it. LOVED the interior design and the quiet, smooth ride from the get go. The radio is so much better than my old car as well. Most of the new SUV's I test drove had limited visibility towards the rear of the vehicle. I found that learning how to correctly position my mirrors helped drastically. What I would improve on would be the USB ports. There are none in the 3rd row and the ones up front I feel do not have a lot of power. It takes forever to charge my phone compared to my old car and that is annoying. It takes a while to get use to the navigation system but I played with it to destinations I was familiar with and am getting use to it. After a lot of research and test drives, every vehicle will have positive and negatives and you need to find what is most important to you. So far my family loves the Highlander and I am very happy with our decision.

Bought the car 3 weeks ago. Paid 37,400 on a 40,840 sticker XLE white with leather.Car is comfortable AC is cold both front and rear . Have owned toyota before and played a big part in the purchase. Dependable and reliable. Turned off the ECO button feels the car is being pulled with it on. Gas mileage about 22 hwy 18 city could be better.touch screen has many features takes a few days to get used to. Side mirrors seems large and sometimes block view on turns.

Love my Highlander!

I traded in my Toyota Sienna for the Highlander XLE AWD. I was concerned about losing too much space, but I didn't. I do miss the sliding doors. It was nice not to have doors in the way when you're loading and unloading kids. If you've had a mini man, you will understand that. Drives so smooth. Far less road noise. With my radio going, I feel like I'm in my own little world. The broadcast radio doesn't sound super, but when you play from bluetooth or XM, it sounds great! I opted for the black leather interior. it's stitched with brown thread and there's also some brown leather accents on the doors and dash. Super stylish, manly enough for my husband, but still very chic for me. Love the screen! Wish I was able to add my own apps to the entune suite (like Spotify) since I already subscribe. You cannot access any of the entune apps without subscription. Bummer. Back up camera is nice has a wide angle. Something very important to me since I've have had two cervical fusions and my neck does not crank around easily to back up. This is a nice helper and makes me more at ease. Think we got a decent deal and I love it. If I were to change things, they'd be very minor. Happy with my purchase!!

Beware of the wind noise

The car runs well. However, if you are sensitive to noise, you will hate this car. On my car, a 2017 model, there is a wind intrusion, whistling noise on the passenger side window above 45 MPH; None on the driver's side. Dealer acknowledged the problem but said that it's a "normal characteristic" of the car until Toyota issues a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) on how to fix it. You can google the internet and see how many other people are having the same problem. I would not have bought this car had I known about this. The noise is very annoying and persistent. None of my other Toyotas (2014 Avalon, 2006 Sienna, 2003 Sequoia) have this problem.

After 2 years of research

Very happy with our choice, my wife and I love our new Highlander. It is very smooth and refined, very comfortable seats and great interior. We chose the Oh la la rouge red witch I have to say is kind of a cheesy name for this red color but whatever it's great to look at. The V6 engine has lots of power in the high rpm range and it really gets up and goes when you put your foot in it. I'm not having any of the problems other reviewers are having with the entune system, it does take some learning and getting used to but it works well when you know how to use it. I do find myself missing some options on my XLE AWD that come standard on the limited version like blind spot monitoring and automatic seat settings, those things should come standard on a suv that cost 37k+. At the end of the day I think the highlander is the best looking 3 row crossover on the market and I have faith in it's reliability even though we've only put 2000 miles it to date. I will come back in the future and update this review.
