Happy new owner
Months of research and test drives came down to Flex vs. Highlander. Went with Highlander largely due to more conservative styling. Extremely quiet, comfortable car. Black after-market leather looks sharp with silver exterior. Great visibility, light steering, easy to drive. Factory tires seem questionable, prone to slipping under even light acceleration. Ride can be a bit bouncy, but overall a very refined, quality vehicle.
Love my highlander, bought another and kept 2010
Toyota dependable and plenty of zip with the V6. 8 years and 145k miles later and I still love it enough that when looking at new cars I will only replace it with another Highlander. It has survived three boys, towing utility trailers for jet skis, kayaks, mulch and more. I only have three complaints. The front door arm rests have small plastic supports that broke. The third row seat has virtually no leg room and too much plastic on the bumper. I miss real bumpers. My only major repairs out of pocket are a water and fuel pump both after 130k miles. Recalls were accelerator and window motor. On long trips I used a Yakima topper. The five us fit comfortably even as adults with the back seat for one person stretched out along the seat. Our trips are 12 hours one way to visit my family. Drives and parks easily like a car, but love the visibility of being a little higher and ability to carry toys and do yard work. Love it so much I kept it and bought a 2018.

A Great Vehicle
This vehicle is an all around great car. Performance is excellent both off the line and out on the highway when passing. It is very comfortable to drive (I am 6' 5"). Gas mileage is as advertised 17-23. I have never gotten as low as 17 and it averages 21-22 in a combination of city/highway driving. The S/E has about everything standard that you could want. The only option that I elected to get was the XM radio receiver. I would highly recommend this car to anyone. My only other Toyota was a 1970 Corona which was a drive to work car. Kept it 14 years and 140,000 miles and it never failed to start one time. Best car I ever owned. Hope this one is as good.
Trust Toyota
I love my new Highlander SE. My only complaint is the leather on the driver seat appears to have an odd wrinkling spot but other than that a great car.
Solid Mid-size SUV
Considered Highlander and Chevy Traverse. Felt Highlander would be better for the long run. Like Captains seats in 2nd row. Very quiet ride and comfortable. Rear camera is nice feature. Good value for price paid.
