Used 1990 Toyota Cressida Consumer Reviews
Valuable car
I owned a Toyota Cressida for almost 2 years and I think it is a very good cruising car. Drive it carefully, use premium gas and get the maintenance jobs done in time, that's important. Head gasked failure can possibly be avoided by retorquing the head bolts. The car has a pretty good mileage for a V-6 engine (up to 30 mpg on the highway) and good performance. It shifts very smoothly and has a very good suspension. I wouldn't recommend the car for very tall persons.
Cressida problems
To many problems from 72K to 130K. Air cond compressor was replaced, $800. Radiator was replaced. Two water pumps. Cylinder head gaskets. Air intake regulator was replaced. The last straw was the need for a new head gasket. $800. Mechanic tells me that engine mounts, numerous sensors etc are ready to go. What surprises me is that everyone talks about how Toyota's go for so many mile without problems. Maybe I just got a bad one. I am not so sure however since my friends wife has one that has had far mor problems than mine. I can not recommend this product and will probably never buy another Toyota product.
My Lover Car
I love this car,it is my dream car.
Nice For a First Car
Nice car. Had every thing an 18 year old speed demon needed to be happy. Unfortunately, I was too much of a speed demon and wrapped myself around a telephone pole. Car got toasted, but I survived. All hail Toyota!
