Used 2014 Toyota Corolla S Plus 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 6M) Consumer Reviews
Toyota fan since birth
I just bought my 2014 Corolla S in April of 2014. Usually I hate when people write reviews with under 60,000 miles on their cars, but there's a lot to say about the Corolla, and I just can't wait! I love everything about it. The gearing system takes a little getting used to. People say that it has weak horsepower, but you just have to know how to use it. 3500+ rpm's seems to be the new "2500" that you would normally shift at. Obviously because it's brand new I haven't had any problems with it whatsoever. I do plan on writing reviews on it the longer I have it.
Unbelievably Reliable
It's a great car in total. Bullet proof engine, Direct and port injected and no problems even at 140,500 miles. The one I have is a manual 6 speed which in my opinion is much better than a CVT. Yeah its throws are a bit long and the clutch is lengthy but from what I've heard, most of the everyday Toyota manuals are like that. Seats are comfortable, driving position is comfortable, everything is comfortable. The back seat feels freakishly big for a small sedan, I'm 6'1 and I can do a road trip sitting in the back seat. The only think that bothers me just a little is the infotainment but if you look at Toyota and Lexus, the infotainment is pretty bad so I can't complain too much. The six speakers are pretty damn good for a small affordable car. Now I came from a 06' Pilot, so for those of you coming from nicer cars I don't really know how you would interpret it. The trunk is spacious, cabin is spacious. Made in Canada (at least this model). Overall, I am very glad I own this car!

I think I have a lemon :(
*Starting the car: You have to have the clutch pushed very hard, all the way to the ground and make sure to hold the button in long enough. My fiances car is a 6 speed with a push start and Ive never had any trouble with his car. I have driven a stick shift for over 15 years. This clutch is very picky and after a lot of time spent stranded, sitting in my car, I have finally realized that I need to ride the clutch, unfortunately. That's the only way I can get it to get up and go without stalling. I'm always super nervous while driving it for this reason and feel unsafe. My fiancé also refuses to drive my car for this reason. *Where is the sound proofing?? When driving in the rain/snow...
75000 miles
At 75K miles I had to replace the charcoal canister, and the air conditioner is giving me trouble. Other than that it is godd

Love the 2014 Toyota Corolla S Plus
It's a very sporty car, not your typical Corolla. Great gas mileage and fun to drive.
