Grandma Car
Too pricy. Engine is too noisy (leak of power). Cheap Goodyear tires (can't hold). Uncomfortable seats. Build quality is very poor. Nothing special. Toyota is now too lazy to be the best.
Most reliable car ever!
My dad owned an ‘05 and bought it with 113k on it.had it for almost 8 years. He just sold it about a year ago, best car ever!CE trim with beige cloth seats.very comfortable. The rear was crowded for 3.But with just one car seat back there with three kids should be fine.It had a peppy engine with 130 horsepower and about 116 or something like that of torque.0-60 in around 9.5 sec.Its pretty zippy around town.Efficient gas mileage of around 28 city and 34 hwy.when he sold it last year it had around 166k.Great car for commuting, reliable, and efficient!I’d recommend it to anybody looking for an efficient, comfortable commuter that will last 4ever!👍

Count On It!
Purchased new with a 5 speed. Never have had it back to the dealership with any problems. Has enough stuff to get up to freeway speed safely (with some to spare). Road noise noticeable on chip- seal surfaces, but otherwise quite good. Put brakes on @ about 160,000 miles. Have never had to align vehicle and tires still wear evenly. I change oil/filter regularly (about every 5,000 miles) and don't use more than a 1/2 quart between changes. Will pass 200,000 miles this week. My driving is 70/30 freeway/city and I consistently get 35 to 37 mpg. Have gotten as high as 42.5 mpg on long trips. The epitome of function over style. Will buy another one after I have 300,000 miles on this one
High maintenance
I purchased this car new. I have had the oil changed every 5,000 miles and it sits in my garage when not being driven. At 34,000 miles the car started making a screeching sound like a belt was bad and it began shifting roughly. The dealer said I needed the transmission fluid changed and a new belt. $312.00 later my car seems to be ok. I have had a Ford and Pontiac in the past and never had to make these types of services until 100,000. I am disappointed with this car and feel that the quality that Toyota is known for is slipping. Will never buy another Corolla.
Not So Hot
This vehicle handles dangerously on the highway. Toyota chose to equip this vehicle with Goodyear Integrity tires, which arguably are some of the worst passenger car tires ever made. Torque steer is way out of line for such a small car. The Corolla gets blown all over the highway in strong winds, and is difficult to control. Persistent problems abound with the fuel system in the Corolla. Including no start conditions after the car sits 30 minutes. Impossible to make factory stereo iPod ready. Cheap, paper cone speakers produce horrid sound. This car simply fails to do anything well.
