I read a review that said something to the effect of "drive it like you hate it and you'll love it." This statement definitely hit the nail on the head. The car doesn't do much until you hit 6000 rpms, but then it really flies.

My Celica
This car is perfect for the people that love sporty cars. By adding the action package, you'll increase the stares that you get from other drivers. It's a great Car!
All Around Fun Car
Pros: Wonderful Handeling, tight steering, excellent response, on-a-dime breaks, good arrangment of instruments, beautiful inside and out. Good gas economy-Toyota quality and service. Cons: Seat size. You must be a small to medium sized adult to fit comfortably in the front seat, and child-sized to fit in the back. Huge blind spot, spoiler doesn't help. Trunk is difficult to close. Needs more HP to be a true racing car. Low torque. Lowness to ground can make hard to get in and out of. Really a car for the young. I have been absolutley satisfied with this car...it's amazing to feel the acceleration and precision of the response on the highway...
CELICA- FANTASTIC BUY!
THE CELICA IS A GREAT CAR. IT HAS A GREAT PICKUP AND IS VERY ECONOMICAL ON GAS. IT GIVES YOU A SMOOTH RIDE. THE ONLY SET BACK ABOUT THE CELICA GT IS THAT THE BACK SEATS ARE A LITTLE UNCOMFORTABLE AND THE FRONT SEATS DON'T CONTOUR AS MUCH AS THEY SHOULD. OTHER THAN THAT, I WOULDN'T TRADE IT FOR THE WORLD!
