2001 camry LE V6 Gallery Series

I purchased this car from a friend who wanted a 2008 model. It is in excellent shape in all areas. I also like the two tone paint and the other upgrades that went with the Gallery Series. It had 162000 miles on it, but looks like new. I did put new tires on and brake pads and new belts, only because I wanted to start off with them on it. It had been taken care of in all areas. Besides changing the oil on date of purchase, I had the radiator flushed. I only paid $5000.00 for it, and am extremely happy. I have 164000 on it now. My last car was a Cadillac Seville and it had 378000 miles when I gave it up. All my mileage is highway travel. I baby my cars to go as long as possible.

I'm Jealous

The wife bought this in 2002 with 28000 on it. Well I am a Mercedes/BMW man. So in 2002 I drive this and I am saying, while nice quiet ride no engine noise great power. Soon I'm trying to get new tires and trying to match her dang Camry ride! She gets all service for next to nothing. Never a prob with this Camry. Last year 2008 I'm looking at 2009 BMW or Mercedes, test drives were comparing to Camry ride. Camry wins no doubt. So smooth I'm falling asleep. So she wins I'm getting her a new 2010 XLE v6. Only V6 by the way. My new car is her old 2001 Camry with 114000 on it. Sweet as ever and quiet as ever. Sweet ride.

It won't die.

Bought my LE V6 in 2005 with 58k miles on it. It has 143k miles now. I secretly wish it would die so I can buy another more exciting car, because this car is utterly boring to drive. But it's refusing to do so because it is so danm reliable. It has never broken down and found dead on the side of the road. The only parts that have been replaced were brakes, timing belt and water pump at 100k miles, spark plugs every couple years or so, and the door handle on the driver side that unexpectedly broke off a couple winters ago. The windows on the driver's side is beginning to go bad now. It can go up and down, but it's loose. This car would probably run for another 100k miles. The engine is still very quiet and clean, not even an oil leak. I had considered replacing it with a 3-series BMW, they are really fun to drive, but decided against the idea given the reputation of costly and frequencies of repairs of BMW. Cost of maintenance for the Camry has been low. During the 10 years that I've owned it, besides oil changes and tires, total cost of maintenance was about $1k or so.

Very Fast, Corner Carver

Jeff from Pittsburgh, 10/08/2006

This car is awsome, you can do 0-60 in 7.8 seconds, also this thing will go around corners like nothing. After about 3 hours the seats get uncomfortable, and the rear seat cup holder broke, but was fixed by the dealer under warranty. This car only has 42000 miles on it in 2006, and still looks and runs like new.

Squeaky

Squeaky brakes since shortly after break-in. This is considered "an acceptable level of noise" according to the Longo Service Manager. I wonder if they are telling all the new prospective buyers about the noise to come. I'll be listening for you! If you buy a Toyota product, get it in writing...They should fix this problem at their cost!
