I was in the market for a hybrid car. Toyota Camry seemed a good choice, but with long waiting list and more importantly poor acceleration, I changed my mind. As soon as I saw the 2007 Solara, I knew that I wanted this car. It is very stylish, powerful and comes with features that anyone would love. It is a very fun to drive car and you don't see too many of these cars around either. The price is certainly better than the other competitors. I love this car.

I bought my 2007 Toyota Solara last year and absolutely loved it at first. However, after owning it for a few months (once summer hit) I started noticing a problem with the stereo/Bluetooth. Once the top has been lowered and raised, the speakers will cut out. This seems to be a common problem with this car. The other problem is the headlights. They intermittently go out and according to the forums, there is no fix and Toyota refuses to fix the problem. Otherwise I love the car. I would suggest trying to find a new model which has a timing chain instead of a timing belt. At about 125,000 miles DRL stopped working. Might just be the relay; haven't put a lot of effort into fixing. I just had to have the alternator replaced at less than 134,000 miles. 3 of the tire sensors are shot which I hear is an expensive repair. Still love the car but I would probably never buy a Toyota again. UPDATE: Changing the driver's side headlight fixed the problem but now my DRL are not working. Probably need a new bulb(s) but not sure how to determine which one and they are really expensive to replace. Also, my tire sensors are out and again, a very expensive fix. I still love my Toyota Solara but have a lot more (minor) problems with it than I did my Nissan Altima.

I’ve been in the car repair business since 1980. Toyota is the best bet for my money. Most Toyota owners always hope their car/truck is repairable because it’s the best they’ve ever owned.
