Recently, I purchased a 2006 Toyota Avalon. I had owned a Mercedes for almost 10 years. This car is absolutely fabulous to drive. It is quiet and has a lot of power. The interior is classy and outside desing is gorgeous.I love my new Avalon.

Love the Avalon. Fun to drive, very comfortable, and reliable. The car has lots of leg room, front and back.

The smooth Toyota

An absolute pleasure to drive. This car is quiet, smooth, comfortable, powerful, handles well, and is loaded with more features than the Audi A6 I previously owned. It was also 20K cheaper than the Audi and has better features. I would be hard pressed to buy another Audi (had two of them) after owning this car. UPDATE: I purchased a 2006 Toyota Avalon XLS in November 2005 as I needed a dependable, comfortable, roomy car to take my kids to college 250 miles away. I still own this car with 102,775 miles and it doesn't squeak or rattle and still rides very smooth and quiet. The car has the 3.5 liter V6 which has plenty of pep. I change the oil every 3000 miles and the car uses no oil. it gets about 25 mpg on the highway and 17-18 mpg in the city and runs on regular gas. In 18 years, I have done the brakes 4 times and had the water pump replaced at 60K and the alternator at 99K. I wish that the Avalon was still made as I would buy another one when the time comes. Best car I have ever owned.

A few things that I would change...

Park far away because any door that hits into this car, you will get knicked. Gas mileage averages 20MPG and the best 25, not what it's rated at. Inside compartments get stuck sometimes. Passenger seat doesn't have many options. Kids love the back seat (reclining), but when left reclined, it's not comfortable getting into. Trunk space should be more. I'm keeping my van for family trips longer then 3 hours. I love riding in it & navigation is pretty easy. I don't have a problem with voice commands, but system doesn't like my husband's voice for some reason. (He doesn't have an accent, just a lower voice then mine!) Sometimes it takes several attempts.

I love everything about this car. It looks good inside and out. Lots of storage, very comfortable and roomy, quiet at ANY speed, easy to handle. I have been told it is a Lexus with the Toyota name on it. Same engine and body as a lower class Lexus. I would highly recommend it to anyone, any age!!
