Bad reliability!
What a lemon! This thing has had problems both inside and out. The engine has had stalling problems. The seats are terrible and I've had trim pieces falling off. Very poor.
Don't Like the Seats!
The front seats are enough to make me want to sell this car. I can't get comfortable. And the car is much noisier on dirt roads and rough roads here in Iowa than my previous Buick. I'm not very impressed. My son told me about this Avalon and said it was an excellent car. I guess he didn't drive it. I have, and I don't like it very much.

Great, but some faults
Overall our experience has been very good with our 2006 Avalon. The ride has been very smooth and quiet and the pick-up is very good. This may be one of the fastest cars we've owned (with a six).
Hate the Transmission
My transmission on my '05 Touring is AWFUL! Hunts for gear and sometimes doesn't work (it just shuts down). The problem seems to be random -- don't know what is causing it and neither does dealer. Mechanics can't replicate it. The only fix it to stop, shut the engine off, and restart the car. It's happened FIVE times so far in 2,000 miles! Bummer.
Fabulous Toyota Avalon
Recently, I purchased a 2006 Toyota Avalon. I had owned a Mercedes for almost 10 years. This car is absolutely fabulous to drive. It is quiet and has a lot of power. The interior is classy and outside desing is gorgeous.I love my new Avalon.
