Im Impressed
This is my first Toyota, and i bought this a few weeks ago. It has 230k miles on it and it drives great! It making a Toyota guy out of me.
Original Owner
I bought my 1998 Toyota Avalon in 1998. It's still my car. I've put thousands into it over the years -- but we're talking 20 years. If I ever get another car in my life why wouldn't I get an Avalon?

Auto Climate Control - Beware!!!!
As others in this forum, burned by auto climate control to the tune of $1,050. No choice but to replace, as the car is not realistically driveable without the a/c, heating, defrost systems working. I guess several people have to die before anything is recalled. Front strut noise also as others report. Catalytic converter went out and one dealer wrongly diagnosed as a broken ring, needing a $5,000 repair. Second dealer correctly diagnosed and repaired under original powertrain warrenty. Steering wheel cover has peeled off. If you are looking to buy, I would insist the seller correct these issues first. Car is roomy and will get up & go.
Most Comfortable Car I've Ever Owned!
I bought my 1998 Toyota Avalon XLS in December of 2005. I loved it from the first day I drove it. It's ride is very comfortable and the V6 gives it plenty of power. All in all, this car is very reliable and a great car to travel in.
What a car!
I never really thought that we would be able to afford a car as luxurious as the Toyota Avalon. Well, it turns out we can, although the car we bought was pre-owned. The amenities in this car are fabulous. It has everthing, at a price that was truely affordable. I hope that we continue to be as happy with it as we are now.
