An SUV without flaw...but expensive to buy and expensive to maintain and own....I love my $runner

First of all, this is the first Japanese automobile that I have ever owned. That said, I will never buy American again! I wish I could give a balanced review giving both the good and the bad; but, I honestly have nothing bad to say about my 4Runner. Great feul effeciency, responsive ride, comfortable interior, quick acceleration, awsome sound system, etc... So far so GREAT! -- GOODBYE FORD --

I bought mine in Nov 2002, one of the first ones. Have done 20000 miles already and a number of off road trails. Very capable on and off road. Comfy, although some headroom and rear foot room would help, I'm 6'3". Great ride and great engine and transmission combo. Very solid and reliable. Had minor issues which was resolved, believe it is now resolved with later vehicles. Vehicle is great, dealer support lacking compared to BMW and Volvo which we had before. I want to see how all these fancy SUV's (VW, Porsche??, MBZ, BMW, etc) hold up after being really used off road. Explorer, etc does not even compare.

I AM VERY PLEASANT WITH MY RUNNER. VERY FUN TO DRIVE, STRONG AND QUIT ENGINE AND GOOD GAS MILEAGE (20.7 AT HIGHWAYS). IT IS VERY EASY TO PARK, AND VERY GOOD LOOKING INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. THE STEREO SYSTEM IS A MARVEL.
