BAD AC unit on this year 4runner
$3000.00 fix for parts and labor @ Toyota dealer to fix AC/Heat relay and blower related problem. Don't buy any 4runner from the late 90's to 03. Problems with AC unit, Heat, clutch relay, not cheap to fix at all. Problems are recurring too. 2004 and newer are fine. Other than those problems listed, this SUV would of been GREAT.
Don't buy this truck!
This is an awful vehicle. It has horrible emissions INSIDE the cabin. The gas mileage is also terrible - 14 mpg on the hwy on premium fuel and horrible emissions INSIDE the cabin. Research before you buy. Take at look at the sulfur problems on Edmunds.com car discussions. Take a look at NHTSA site too at all the complaints of emssion smells inside the cabin.

Get A Ford!
I have had this vehicle 4 months, one of which has been in the shop. The sunroof quit working and so did the dealership. I finally got the car back and the paint is peeling off of the front! 40K for this??? I should have bought a Hyundai!!
Don't waste your money...
This was my first and will be my last Toyota. Toyota's 4 Runners are not the high 'quality' advertised. My past 6 Jeeps and 3 Buicks were all better. Worst, for a vehicle that is advertised to perform well in adverse weather, beware. It's rear doors freeze to the wheel wells after running through even the slightest mud and allowing the vehicle to sit overnight in below freezing temporatures. Bad design. Despite numerous contacts with Toyota, they refuse to even acknowledge the problem or do anything about what could be a serious safety defect, one that would prevent emerency egrees. "Oh, what a feeling..."
MY TOYOTA :: Can you say Lemon!
1.The tires weights were 90 degrees off of balance and the weights were the wrong size on those tires. 2.Wind noise in the front driver side door (somewhere) 3.When I apply the brakes while driving the vehicle will sometimes pull severly to the right or left as if the brakes are not properly adjusted or the alignment. 4.Engine tapping (lifter noise) coming from the right front that is significant but seems to somewhat diminish goes after the engine is warmed up. 5.CD player would not work without CD's skipping. Dealer of course says everything is perfect, noting the dealer did change out the CD player.
