We have put just about 1k miles on our car after trading in our 2010 Toyota Camry. My wife drives the same as she always does back and forth from work and it is half highway and half street. We get a BEST 22mpg. That is no where near the 30mpg combined they advertised. She would fill up her tank in the Toyota which has the same size tank and it would last her about 2 weeks. Now we are barely making it one week before we need to fill up again. Horrible advertising In my book. Would NOT have bought the car if I knew that it was going to be this bad. I'm hoping for engine break in but was told that it wasn't likely by Subaru. The rest of the car is great, the transmission is definitely sketchy but you get used to it. Overall we really like the luxury about the car ( I drive a 2010 Lexus IS250 and it is probably better than it ) but the gas mileage is not what we expected. DON'T believe the salesman as that is a MAJOR selling point they use. Once we bought the car the reneged on that sales point of course!

In order to get the Eyesight Collision Avoidance System we were forced to buy a package that included a Harmon Kardon so-called premium entertainment radio and Nav System. The audio sounds about as good as my computer speakers. The Nav system is clunky and takes tons of steps to find a location. It makes Apple Maps look good and Google Maps look brilliant.It does not show proper accident information or offer alternate routing. There is minimal lane guidance. The system offers and app that is called Aha which lacks most of the stations and content we want. It also "offers" Pandora which has 1/30th of the music on Spotify. The radio has a tendency to continue to play while you make or receive a call. This system will make you crazy as you fight it. Sirius was free for a while but not relevant since we can find what we want on the internet for free. After the introductory period they are going to have the audacity to ask us to pay for this junk.

Great car, AWD is big plus for our snow season

It's a great car with a few important qualifications to consider: The stock tires aren't very good, so if you buy it for winter driving, as we did, you're going to need replacements very soon after purchase. This car was the 3rd out of 4 Subarus we have purchased (all at the same dealership and sales rep). The others were a Forester (2009), Outback (2012) and another Outback (2017). The Forester and Outbacks are MUCH better in the snow given their higher high ground clearance and are unstoppable on bad roads (except for the cars in front of you of course), the legacy is a sedan, so even with the AWD on all models, you won't get the same ground clearance and hence as good snow performance as the Outbacks or Foresters. DO NOT BUY A BLACK SUBARU!!!! The paint will Scratch incredibly easily. My wife ran it through a non-touchless car wash, the washes that use the big rotating brushes, and the car came out with $300 worth of damage on the hood. But it has also had spots on the roof and trunk. This apparently happens when dirt, bird poop, sap, etc., is on the car in the sun. Whatever it is, the black paint gets so hot it will "cook" it resulting in the paint bubbling up and cause expensive to repair damage. In our case, the dealer went back to Subaru and they're going to repaint the car, mostly due, I think, to the fact that we've bought four Subarus from one dealership in the last seven years.

This car handled great during a heavy rain storm. The headlights are excellent and I love the mirrors deflect headlight blind from behind. The stereo system is great and the controls work fine. The controls on the steering wheel are easy to operate and I love the mute button for the stereo. The drivers seat adjust up,down,lumbar and the steering wheel adjust,it's perfect.

Efficient, comfortable and quiet. 30+ MPG and 4 wheel drive a bonus The safety features are quite good. Not a race car, but quite acceptable acceleration. My wife just bought another Subaru (Forester), with the same engine. Was happy with dealer service until they began to sell an "Extended Warantee" under the guise of a magic oil additive. I opted for a local service provider and am happy without the "upselling" of extras. Still very happy with it.
