Used 2019 Subaru Impreza Hatchback Consumer Reviews
Great little car, engine lacks pep
The Impreza is an enjoyable car to drive in many ways. The AWD feels extremely safe and in control in rain or snow. The car handles admirably in curves, gripping the road with a stiff chassis (no body roll) while also smoothly absorbing bumps in the road. It’s a much more smooth drive than our Honda. The steering is also precise. Where the car performs less admirably is engine power / acceleration. It’s hard to speed up to merge on the highway with short entrance ramps; it’s difficult to speed up to match traffic on the Interstate at times if everyone accelerates quickly. If the engine had 200 horsepower (or turbo) I’d love it. As it is, it lags behind Honda, Volkswagen, and almost every other car company’s compacts, in power.

Clunk Clunk
Bought 2019 Impreza Premium (hatch ) in late September 2018. 16 weeks after purchase I began hearing a loud clunk clunk noise when I ran over minor road bumps. Took to dealership on Thursday 2/7/2019 and still don't have a prognosis yet. Sounds like a suspension problem to me. The dealer did give me a 2019 loaner and stated everything is warranty covered. I did a lot of research before buying and thought I made a good choice. This will be a true test of changing my loyalty from Hondas, which I have driven the past 30 years ( 10 new in that time). Wish me the best. Well, the best did not happen. I had this car into the Dealership for various problems three more times. I traded this car July 13.

Sold it to Carvana
Liked the Impreza Sport a lot. Had a front end noise issue that the dealer seemed to fix. Only drove it about 4000 miles a year and Carvana offered us a price that was VERY good. We are a one car family and happy the Impreza had such high resale value.
Imprezive Impreza
Enjoyed this car for about 2 days now. Drove it around to town running errands, through some country roads, and on the freeway a bit. Very stable and maneuvers quite well. Seats are a bit stiff, not as cushy and comfy as previous vehicles we've owned, but seem very durable. The whole car seems to have a very durable long-lasting feel to it. It's not as quiet as some of our other cars either. I can hear the engine and other external road noises while driving. My other cars were very quiet when idling and sometimes I could not tell if it was running, but this car you can definitely tell it's on because it has a noisier idle. These are the only two things I notice about this car, and it was very mild and not worth saying no to buying it. I really dig this car and I look forward to hopping in it all the time and going somewhere. So far I'm really happy with this car.
