2025 Ford F-350 Super Duty

The F-350 is part of Ford's Super Duty lineup, targeting those who need more capability than the F-250 but not the industrial strength of the F-450. But the F-350's impressive towing and hauling capacities don't make it just a powerhouse. It also offers many features that help make towing and hauling easier, including the Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Onboard Scales, as well as the newly optional blind-spot monitors with trailer coverage and a tire-pressure monitoring system for trailers. The crew-cab model can comfortably seat up to six passengers, and those who want a luxurious workhorse have lots of features to choose from. Ford Pro offers chassis cab models for commercial use.

The heavy-duty truck segment is small and only consists of models from America's big three truck manufacturers. The Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is the F-350's top rival, and it was redesigned in 2020 but was refreshed with updated tech and powertrains for 2024. The Ram 3500 should also be considered. The Ram was redesigned in 2019 but has been updated a few times since then. But if you're looking for the most power and the highest towing capacities, the newer F-350 tops the other two trucks.

The F-350's gas engines offer plenty of power, but the diesel engines are on a whole other level. The standard version produces 475 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft of torque, but the high-output version churns out an incredible 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft, the most power in its class. With dual rear wheels (DRW) and when properly equipped, the F-350 has a maximum towing capacity of 28,000 pounds. When equipped with a fifth wheel or gooseneck, the maximum capacity shoots up to an astonishing 40,000 pounds. As for payload, most single rear-wheel (SRW) configurations have max capacities ranging from about 3,000 to 4,000 pounds, and DRW configurations top out at about 5,000 to 8,000 pounds.
