Best Car In It’s Class
I bought a 2017 Subaru Impreza Sport Hatchback with CVT. I agree the acceleration is not the best but it's adequate. The reliability has been great so far, I paid extra for the Eyesight technology and it's great, but not 100% accurate. I've had people in my blind spot and yet my light wasn't on. It will also tell you when the car in front of you moves if you stay still, but this could be bad, since if the light is red you obviously don't want to move forward. The lights will flash if you use your signal and try to change lanes with something there. I think the Eyesight Tech. is worth it, but like with all technology you should use it to aid you, not do everything for you. There are some Apple Car Play and Starlink quirks that are bothersome. Sometimes it if I connect my phone through the USB port for Apple Car Play, it has difficulty connecting or will connect and then later disconnect. The Apple Car Play is spotty, meaning sometimes it works, sometimes it disconnects after working. I worried it was my cable, but I still have issues using different cables and a new i-phone. The Starlink very rarely won't come on when I start the car, every 3 months or so. Then it will reboot and kick on. I had issues with Blu-tooth but I was using an i-phone 5s with i-phone watch and every once in awhile it would disconnect and the reconnect. This means your song would stop, then start again. This changed once I updated my phone, no problems so far, 6 months going. Using the in car phone features is good, but sometimes on the freeway it's difficult to hear the person. I often have to turn the volume all the way up. Gas mileage is okay, but not as good as reported. I get approx. 350-375 miles per fill up if I wait until my gas tank is really low, which I rarely do. I love the 3 displays. 1- is between MPH/RPM, 2- is on dash, and 3- is actual radio. You can customize these which is a great feature. I usually have MPH on 1, music on 2, and phone on 3. Getting to know how to use each one, and change each one is important so you can look at tire pressure, know how many more miles for next fill up, how long you've been driving, etc. The all wheel drive is great in the snow, but that doesn't mean you stop any better so you still need to be careful driving in slippery conditions, but you shouldn't get stuck. Seats aren't the most comfortable, especially on long drives but their adequate. Road noise is at a minimum. This in my opinion is the best car in it's class, because reliability, safety, all wheel drive, gas mileage, are important to me. I recommend the hatchback over the sedan because of the extra space, and it's easier to see out the back window for safety. I added tinted windows which looks good on the hatchback and helps keep the car cool in the summer. Overall the best car I tried in it's class and price range. I’ve now owned the car for over 2 years and it’s still doing great. I have very few problems with STARLINK these days, once every 6 months. I’ll turn my car on and the infotainment system is black. I just turn the car off and back on and it’s up. The longer I’ve owned it and been in other cars the more I love my car. I highly recommend this car and I would buy another one, or a Crosstrek since they have better clearance, (dang pot holes and speed bumps).

Amazing, quirky car! I love her!
I bought my 2019 Impreza used at the end of last year with 42,000 miles on it. Before it, I had a 2007 Honda CR-V, a hand-me-down, and a very good car. I dreaded the day I had to give that car up, convinced I wouldn't ever find a car I liked as much. My brother convinced me to go with Subaru, I desperately wanted to stick with Honda out of familiarity, but really needed a smaller vehicle with better mileage and good longevity since I drive nearly 100 miles each day, 5 days a week. I live in upstate NY in the snow belt and the CR-V didn't hold the road particularly well, so safety and traction was a big concern. Went through a dealer- this was my first car purchase and I was pleased with that process. I test drove a 2022 Impreza limited hatchback, 2021 Hyundai Kona, but settled on my 2019 Impreza premium hatchback. Considering that I was driving a 2007 and not remotely used to the displays and everything, I found the 2019 premium a little less overwhelming. The Kona was simply not comfortable, it felt cramped and cheap inside, it was affordable at least but so was the Impreza! I've had my Impreza for three months now, I cannot stop raving about this car. I named her Sugar. It's comfortable- my mom says that the seats are a bit too firm for her (she's in her late 50s). The layout of the dash is very accessible and easy for me to understand, it took less than a week for me to have all the controls memorized. The radio can be quirky, it will often connect with my phone automatically and start playing whatever playlist I was listening to last on Spotify on its own- however WHEN it connects seems random sometimes. Usually it's when I first turn the car on, even if I turn the radio off beforehand it will start playing music. However sometimes it will be 5 or 10 minutes and it will suddenly connect to my phone and start playing music. Last week, the ploughs hadn't run yet but I had to take my brother to work, the little car was pushing through 6-7 inches of snow on the road like it was nothing, resulting in my brother commenting, "wow, Sugar's a beast!" as soon as he said this, comically, the radio started playing, causing both of us to laugh. It's very much a car with personality. I haven't had any problems passing people on the road, it's much quicker than my CR-V was. MPG isn't as good as I'd like- I mean, I'd actually like an electric vehicle, but it's good for now and definitely better than the CR-V. I was averaging 31mpg driving my brother to work on mostly highway, when the weather was nicer. Winter has been rough this year and it's lingering around 29mpg more. I tried the lane assist a bit, I'm not a fan of it, it kind of just ping pongs between the left and right lane if you let it. I like how it follows the car a head of you and matches their speed with the cruise control- that's the coolest thing to me! I realize that this is pretty standard in modern cars, but my family doesn't typically own modern cars! It's really handy, and you can choose how closely you follow. If you start to drift out of the lane, the car gives you a little ding to let you know- which I think is very sweet. As I've said, it handles exceptionally well. Ploughs through deep snow, that low center of gravity really helps with ice, in fact I've only very briefly lost traction a few times during absolutely horrendous weather that had other vehicles slipping everywhere. We've had plenty of temps well below zero and the car has started up every time without complaint, it heats up quickly and the premium's heated seats are a nice bonus. I'll update in a few months, but I've put 8,000 miles on Sugar (up to near 50,000 now) and am exceptionally satisfied thus far. It's a great vehicle and I hope to keep it for another 200,000 if I can! I'm not sure if cars still go that long, I hope they do.

Had the car two months, brought it in for service
I think Subaru quality control missed my car! The biggest problem is the automatic transmission shifting at low speeds. Between 25-32 MPH the transmission is jerky, like the car is being pulled back. Sometimes, when accelerating, the car will pause before accelerating. When lifting my foot off the accelerator at slow speeds, the car will downshift and feel like I put my foot on the brake, after that it will upshift and the car will coast. The steering control disappears for less than a second. This issue has happened 5 times in the two months of ownership. Losing steering control is a scary and dangerous issue. I'm concerned if the car loses steering control for more than a second. The engine hood is uneven. The right front edge is noticeably higher and the left front side lower. The windshield is covered with water spots. You only see the spots when cleaning it or on misty morning. On misty mornings it's difficult to see though the windshield with all the water spots. The last problem is a chip in the backside of the glass touch display. How could Subaru QC miss these obvious and glaring cosmetic defects. This makes me question Subaru's overall quality control. What else did they miss. The dealer doesn't seem concerned at all about these defects, to them, I'm just a complaining customer.

Most car for the money
I have the Premium Hatchback. This is my first Subaru ever and I have owned a lot of premium cars like Mini, BMW and Mercedes. I used the car a lot for rideshare so it gets a serious workout. I believe this car is the most car you can get dollar for dollar. First, it comes standard with AWD and all weather capabilities. I think the Premium is your best bet for value and if you want it all go for the limited. A great deal at all levels. So here is the feedback not just from me but hundreds of passengers 1. Ride is very good, a blend of smooth and sporty. 2. Back seats are comfortable and three adults are cozy but doable. Car seats hook up quickly, too. 3. Cargo room is amazing for size. I routinely put two of the large suit cases side by side in the rear laying on the long narrow side and room for the overnight bags, too. 4. Storage in doors for water bottles and accessories is good. Nothing in the center cushion of the rear seat. 5. Traction in wet is good and heading into snow the next four days in Colorado so will get a winter workout. 6. Good visibility all around with huge front windshield. 7. Tech is great w/Apple Car Play. Cons: 1. Long low front end even for a sedan. The trade is a nice low roof to throw my 45lb kayaks on. Watch the steep road and driveway dips, though. 2. No seat adjustments till Limited level, like lumbar. 3. The crossbars are cheesy. They are small, slippery and slightly curved. I would not get them but find some Malone's or Thule's that would fit. I throw a kayak on and it tends to slip off the side of car. Will have to tape the bars or replace. All weather mats are mediocre, too. Back ones constantly slip, fronts okay. I'd buy aftermarket mats. Last, the power is actually okay. Throttle/pedal management is a little different in a CVT and once you get used to it, it's not bad. I took it up to about 11,000 feet and it did fine. Won't win races but the MPG are good and in my driving I constantly get high 20's in rideshare which is a lot of city and occasional highway. I think it would be mid 30's or higher on all highway. The mpg calculator is not real useful. Do it by hand. In any case, I highly recommend the vehicle as a low operating cost, high capability vehicle that has huge resale here in Colorado and other areas. Depending on your budget and location I'd go Premium or Limited. All trims are a bargain in my view. Cheers to all!

I am now a Subaru fan.
This a shoutout to the A+ sales representatives, Louis Hernandez and Mike Medina, both of whom were incredibly efficient (and witty!) and made the purchasing process of my 2019 Subaru Impreza 2.0i a smooth and enjoyable experience. The whole process took no more than 2 hours, and I was able to get a much more competitive price for my car in comparison to other Subaru locations. It's great how paperworks and financing can be so hassle free. After getting my new Subaru Impreza keys, Louis gave me very specific information on how to take care of my new Subaru, and things to watch out for in the first 1000 miles, including driving at varying speeds, avoiding cruise control, and more. Mike showed me how to operate the Subaru, from using EyeSight to connecting my phone to StarLink. It's been half a month since I purchased my Subaru, and I love everything about it, from the strength of the acceleration to the embedded technologies and the beautiful sleek look. Louis also followed up with me several times to make sure everything is well with my new car. Customer service is definitely a defining part of Subaru, and it's one of the reasons I am now such a big fan. If anything goes wrong with my car, I know Subaru will have my back!
