Dependable Daily Driver
I've been fortunate with this car, replaced a few bearings, clutch, and regular maintenance, 180,000 miles. Im going to have headgaskets done for preventative measures since I plan to drive it another 100,000+ miles. (2006 Foester Premium pkg. With 5 speed 195,000 miles now Feb still on original head gaskets but now giving codes for Catalytic Converter

The Maine state car!
This car is the best snow car there is. It's reliable, has been my saviour in weather and road conditions no one should be on. I have been"the plow" getting through snow like a tractor. Totally have felt safe, confident, and never missed a day of work because of bad roads. Pure fun with that beautiful moonroof. The car lasted me 11 good years. It was one of my favorite dependable cars I've ever had. With my change in work demanding much more travel, it was time for a trade, so I gave it to my husband and it's still running like a clock. :) The update is he's still driving the 'ol reliable! Pretty darn good!!

First 20,000 fine so far
GREAT visibility. Super easy to drive, back-up and park. Yes, it's not the most comfortable...it's not sold as a comfort car. I'd rather have a little stiffness for the great handling. To those who think it's so bad for your back...did you even test drive it? I get 26-28mpg with about 50/50 highway/city in our warm weather. No problems at all. Easy DIY oil changes. The car does need better tires and a thicker rear sway bar for those wanting performance. Car runs very smoothly and is more fun to drive than any of the past 4 Toyotas I've owned.
Cool beans (L.L. Bean that is)
This edition of the Forrester was the best of the normally aspirated models. Great leather seats, superior visibility, and all the dependability you expect from a Subaru.

Subaruy
FXT is a great example of a Subaru. It's not perfect but it makes you happy. Don't know what else gives you what the manual/turbo Forester has for a reasonable price. But I like and bought because of ride height, performance, utility, reliability. I prefer this to my 04 wrx and 05 legacy GT. If you are thinking about this car things you get are: great visibility, ride height, 4wd, utility, reliability, performance (as easy or easier than wrx to mod if you want to). Things you'll have to live with: ugly (it is but its ok) gas mileage (good for what it is but not amazing), bit of wind noise. Not perfect but just does everything and makes you happy.
