Used 2022 Rivian R1S SUV Trims Comparison
Trim level differences
As of this writing, the 2022 R1S is available in a single trim level: Adventure. Previously, Rivian offered a Launch Edition trim, though it was limited to just a few hundred models that sold out before the R1S ever went on sale. Initially, the R1S comes standard with a quad-motor setup (one powering each wheel, giving it all-wheel drive) paired with a 135-kWh battery pack (835 horsepower, 908 lb-ft) that Rivian is calling the "Large pack." It has an EPA rating of 316 miles, though we saw 330 miles in Edmunds' real-world EV range testing. Eventually, there will be a dual-motor setup (one at each axle, still giving the R1S all-wheel drive) and a 105-kWh battery pack that Rivian is calling the "Standard pack," though we don't have EPA range estimates for the smaller battery pack quite yet. Which R1S trim does Edmunds recommend?
The only R1S trim Rivian offers is the Adventure trim. It comes well equipped from the get-go, though you are able to choose between dual-motor and the more capable quad-motor setups as well as a large or small battery pack.
