Owning the dream
I had always dreamed of owning a 3rd Gen Bird.I finally bought the 5.0 V8 last year. It doesn't dissapoint. Although it has cost a fortune to restore the rewards are great. I havent come across a single person who isn't in love with the looks. A classic and timeless design which is admired everywhere it goes. The V8 sounds sweet and had enough torque to pin you to the seat.I went through my first set of rear tires in a little under a month. Talk about seeing money go up in smoke !! I would recommend this car to anyone. Just make sure your wallet can keep up with the car. It makes me smile and scares the hell out of any passenger. Truly Awesome.
An awsome car
I truly love this car. The ws6 preformance suspension handles better than any other car i have driven, including many little imports. The 5.0 makes plenty of tire squeeling pin u to your seat power. And the whole formula body style to my opinon was the best looking model ever made. I love drivin around cause every one always takes a second look. And it has 157000 miles on it and runs as if it just came out of the factory. What more do u want from a car.

1991 Trans Am
I absolutely loved my Trans Am convertible. It was the first car I purchased by myself, for myself; and rode like a dream. Though the performance as compared to todays cars was a little lackluster, it was as close to a real sports car in its technicval simplicity and handling as one could get. The styling is second to none and it always turned heads no matter where I went.
Wonderful car! Amazing memories!
I purchased this 1991 Pontiac Firebird Formula T-tops. WS6 performance package. 305 tuned port 5 speed. Arctic white with 20,000 miles from a dealer. It had a misprint in the local paper about the price. I stumbled upon it from a bumbling salesman. Long story short, I paid $6,000 for the car with not a scratch on it. It looked and drove like new. I owned the car for 8 years. Those are the most memorable 8 years behind a wheel I have had. I outran many cars on road races over the years. It had a bigger throttle body and injectors installed. That's it. All stock on the rest. Never let me down. Never left me stranded. A beautiful car inside and out. The only parts I replaced were the many 245/50/16 tires from burnouts. And the fact that you cannot rotate them on the rim. They have to be taken off the rim (offset). If I could turn back time, I would buy ten more of them. Long-live the firebird! R.I.P.

King of the Road
best car ever made. I swear that jesus himself designed this car. I would die for this car(carjackers beware)
All Out Performance
This car can go fast, handle turns, and fuel economy is good. So far no mechanical or body work, other rhan normal service. It has 145,000 miles and still runs strong and is a real tight clean car without the usual F body rattles and squeaks. Would highly reccomend to anyone.
Bought it new december 29, 1990
Had a formula with performance pkg - 5.0 h.o. 230hp 5spd 4wheel discs on order for 4 months but gm kept rescheduling build due to parts availability (rear disc brakes) I was told .....car was promised to be built first week of December.... Anyone who was there will remember there was a recession during daddy Bush presidency at this time.....just after Thanksgiving GM announced tthat due to inventory the Van Nuys Ca plant would be closed for entire month of december!!! Just before Christmas pissed off Went to dealer for my deposit and guess what that day a black formula showed at dealer with performance axle pkg but had rear aluminum drum brakes 5.7liter tuned port 245hp auto trans but otherwise identical to what I ordered....took it on the spot.....loved this car fast as hell and got 24mpg at a steady cruise controlled 85 mph with air on ......at the time everyone praised chevy ss454 pickups .....bone stock would beat em by 5 or 6 car lengths in the quarter mile ......great looks handling and power all for $$16500...loaded......try touching this performance for under 35k today

A Classic
The 1992 Pontiac Firebird turns heads and is fun to drive. I've owned my car for 10 years and have not encountered any major problems. Although a V-6, it performs like a cheetah on the open road. I've gotten it up to 115 mph before I had to shut it down. I only use synthetic 5-30W, which improves performance and gas mileage (a proven fact).
Like being on a picnic all day
This is a fun car! I had some trouble with electrical but the engine just keeps on running. I have 268,000 and it's like the Duracell Bunny. I look to have it for many years.
One of the best cars every made.
The Pontiac Firebird and Chevrolet Camaro which these two cars are based on the same plat form. They have best engine's the V8 305 5.0L Engine, and the V8 350 5.7L Engine. The Transmission are the 700R4, and the 400R4 are the srongest transmission I every seen in a car. If you like to drive fast go with the 400R4 transmission it's stronger and faster than the 700R4 transmissions. 700R4 Transmission - for faster acceleration. 400R4 Transmission - a stronger transmission for racing. If your thinking about getting a Pontiac Firebird or Chevrolet Camaro, don't get the one's with the V6 3.1L Engine, it has no power and it does not last long.
Love my Bird
I bought my GTA when it was less than a year old and been in love with it ever since. I had an 86 Firebird that I liked but it is no comparison to this baby. The V-8 engine is a must in a car like this as well as the manual transmission, no automatic here. My bird has been neglected for the last couple of years but is not in the process of coming back from the ashes to his former magnificence.
1991 Pontiac Firebird
I have owned this car for a while now, and it still gives me a smile every time I look at it. Not to mention when I drive it. You can't even smack the smile off of my face. It was quite the good purchase on my part. I would recomend this to anyone.
The 3rd generation f-body
I find the Pontiac Firebird to be a sadly dying breed of true american muscle...along with the camaro both cars were a symbol...an icon of american muscle...I'll keep my bird for a long time, maybe one day these cars will come back...maybe not...but this is one driver who will alway appreciate these types of cars
1991 T.A. review
it's my first car that i have bought. mine has the 5.0 305. in my opinion it has enough power although i wouldn't mind the 350. i paid $500 for it and it only has small problems. it had been sitting for a few years before i bought. So i can honestly say it's built well.
Fire Chicken
i have owned 2 third gen firebirds, and i would buy another. there is no sexier car out there. other than e-tests, i have had no problems with my 91 formula. the 4l60 is probably the best transmission i've ever had. i have no complaints whatsoever. P.S this car is well worth the fuel!
Braggs 1991 Pontiac Firebird
This car should be worth much more than the book value for it actually is... It is an extremely great car that is both reliable, sporty, and economic.
Amazing
I bought this car when I was 16 with 100,000 mi. on it. Now it has over 200,000 so my experience has been wonderful. Haven't had major problems other than minor things that need replaced after that many miles. The only thing that gave me trouble is the computer, i had to replace it at around 160,000.
Can't Complain
I really can't complain about the TA GTA. I got a great car for the price I paid for it.($250) It has awesome handling for a car with the power plant it has under the hood.(5.0 TPI) You stomp the gas, you are gonna go. The only really big complaint I have with it is that it doesn't handle too well on rain slicked roads.
15 years and still going...
We bought this car new in 91,and put it up every winter. Couldn't wait to get it out in the spring. I think the worst thing is having it sit in the garage for months and having things dry out from not being used, which I believe led to a few repairs. I still love to drive it and can't seem to part with it.
Cant be that with a bat.......
So far this has been the best vehicle I've owned (91 GTA). It has some of the best performance as well as great gas mileage. With some minor modifications you can have this car out performing 70% to 80% of the cars on the road today!
This is awsome car, i love it
The v6 is a downpoint but its an awsome looking car.
1991 Pontiac Trans Am 5.7 ltr. V8
Incredibly Fun Vehicle to turn the key in...I have added Flowmaster Mufflers and a Fuel Flow chip to increase the Fuel economy and give me more torque to rear end. Nice Car!The Mustang 5.0 Eater.
The one car I will never let go
I have the base model with the 5.0 five speed manual and the powertrain is amazing in its ability to last. I've owed this car for fifteen years and I will never get tired of it. I'm restoring it now at a very costly amount due to it sitting wal I was away but it's worth every penny in fun and a true America classic. The engine has about 150000 on it and not a leak which amazes me. Mechanically the car is bullet proof. If you want a fun car that is the car to have. I mite buy another one and start flipping them because everyone loves them.

91 formula. Im 36 and bought it when i was 20
I bought my 91 formula for $4500. It had 67k miles on it and was in perfect condition. I love my car so much. Ive had a 93 candle apple red acura legend and i have a 2013 camaro. But my 3rd gen is my fav car of all time. It Isnt the easiest to keep up since good mechanics are hard to find with the older engine. Ive blown a head gasket and had to replace feel like everything under the hood (twice) and im currently getting an engine rebuild after 119k miles. I plan on keeping it forever. Freshly painted and still looks amazing bunper to bumper

TA look alike
When i bought my 1992 firebird about three years ago, i had the idea to swap out the 3.1 l v6 till i learned how well the engine performed in the car. The car is defenitly worth the money. I never had to put a part in it besides tires and it starts no matter where or how cold it is outside. It is the most fun car i have ever driven, nd i have driven everything from corvettes to tuners. And my t-tops never leaked either
Reliable Fun, and Headturning
I bought this car for $900 roughly a few months after I turned 18, and received my licence. It's a great car, the engine and transmission are responsive. With dual exhaust my car prrrs with out being overly loud. Steering and corning are responsive and great. The stock honeycomb rims are stylish, and have a nice flare with the Firebird symbol in the center cap. My car is a little beat up, and is in rough condition right now, but It turns heads, I get compliments, and it seems like everyone wants to race me.
Worth Every Penny
I've owned two '92 Pontiac Firebirds; both with the V8 305ci engine w/auto trans. Both were very cherry. I just sold the second one this year after having it for 9 years. It was teal (only available on the 92's in the 3rd gen), and had 39k when I bought it in 2004. I had shorty headers put on, free flowing exhaust, K&N filter, & a Tornado. It was a "sleeper". This was a well built car, with decent performance, and you could do the majority of your own maintenance. I never had any major issues with the car, and had no issues driving in the snow or rain. It was still a head turner at 20 years old; received plenty of compliments. I highly recommend this car!
family bird
i purchased this car from my father in 2002 and have been pleased with it ever since. this car is very reliable with just normal parts replacement (battery, tires etc). this has to be the funnest car i have ever had and the power and performance are great. this car will stay in the family and i hope it will be enjoyed by my son as much as my father and i have enjoyed it.
VERY NICE BIRD!!!
I bought this as a summer/secondary car for the low price of $800. It needed just a few little things, maybe a total of $100 in repairs the previous owner didn't do. It has been the nicest ride i've had in a while! It accelerates quick, and handles with ease! Fun to drive, especially with the top off! I put neon lights and a sound system in it and am always getting looks and compliments on it everywhere I go! The repair bills are NEVER high, and the engine and transmission are still running strong even at the 187,000 mile mark! If you're looking to pick up some summer fun, this car is definitely for you!

Stay away from this
I've heard of other folks loving their Birds and having zero problems. While it is an attractive car, it is somewhat of a reliability risk. And it don't help that the V6 is probably the weakest to come out of Detroit in a while, at least for this type of car. The V6 version only looks fast. I mean, come on, it has a legacy to maintain. I was young, though, when I got it and my dad thought it best that I didn't have a large V8. I don't have room enough to list all problems, but I'll say there were many.
firebird
i woulnt trade for n e thing
Great Vehicle
Although I only have had this car for 2 years I love it..... Very minor repairs (alternator, battery, belts) over 2 years have been my only costs. It had 77,xxx miles when I bought it and now has about 97,xxx. It gets great gas mileage for a v6 3.1 (about 25 in town, 27 highway). I have the t- tops which are awesome in the spring and summer. The design of this car is a classic. My 3.1 v6 will can race most cars off the line which is nice.
92 automatic convertilble
Excellent ride for a sports car. Good sound system, could use some after market speakers. No major repairs ever. The top isnt power but is easy to handle alone. great cornering. Does seem to go through tires fast! Braking is my only complaint disc from drum rear, needs disc all around like the new ones have.
92 305
My Second firebird, decent power for a 305. Body style is a real eye catcher. Engine is durable and reliable, drivetrain is solid and the construction seems strong. FBody has been plagued with annoying squeeks for years. GM never did manage to work out all of those bugs. Wet traction is not the best. But the car manages the look and feel it was designed to produce.
The Screamin Chicken
I love this car because i got about a year ago and I only $400 for it and all it needed was spark plugs, because nobody ever changed them and it runs like brand new. I love it I got a whole car for less then $500.
FABULOUS, FUN & SHARP LOOKING CAR
I bought my first 1992 Firebird in 1994, it was my only vehicle. I always felt so stylish and safe in that car. The way it hugged the road and turned on a dime, the exhaust even made it sound like a muscle car. I was in love! It was a V8, T-tops, teal with white & hot pinks graphics.....Gorgeous! I sold it in 2002 and have regretted it ever since. To my fortune, in luck and money, I found another one with very low miles in fabulous condition inside and out. I will NEVER let this one go! I'm in love once again! Thank You Pontiac!
