Very reliable
I just want to tell you that this car has been a great car to me even though I may not be the best at it's maintenance. I change the oil and have had no problems with this car. It makes me think very highly of Oldsmobil cars.
one of my favorites
Purchased 12/2001 with 68,000 miles, now has 114,000 and going great, but having trouble finding parts for convertible only. Lost the paint color chip when I replaced spare tire cover, trunk leaked and ruined it. Top leaks but only in heavy rain, heard it was a common problem. I need a top, and a few minor trim items repaired that probably I only notice, but it still looks great and gets comments on how good it looks.

This car is typical American nonsense.
I have grown to hate this car over the years. The cheap plastic components, cheap finish, basic design flaws and tedious repairs have made owing this car a pain. Why can't GM make cars that do fall apart after a few years. I have had to change the transmission pan gasket about four times, the altenator twice, the starter three times and other numerous nonsense repairs. Even the dashboard display lights have gone out on me and it is a pain to replace the lights.
Last of the Olds Droptops
My Cutlass convertible was bought from my uncle who bought it new. It's been a wonderfull car. It has some cheap plastic, for fitting interior pieces, but mostly it's ok. The 3.4 V6 engine is pretty peppy. Olds should have offered a manual transmission.
One Word: Value
This is a great car, personally, I don't know why many more people drive these. It came with everything standard, and to me that's great.
A great car for a great buy!
Bought the car with 100K on it. It currently has 175,000 miles and STILL going strong. Never had to take it to the dealer for an oil leak. The timing belt is on a steel chain so it never has to be replaced. Minor problems: had to replace A/C compressor at 145K, solonoids for transmission at 130K, broken antenna motor at 135K. The car is strongly built, not filmsy like Japanese cars. A BIG pleasure to drive! Very COMFY!
Great buy and fun ride
We bought our daughter one with 275000 miles from a friend for her first car to learn with. She drove it 50000 more and we loved it and she did also, so we bought one with only 19000 miles that was actually the last one built. We still Love it and Just found one with 10450 original miles. We did have the top to come up going down the road and broke the braces and caused a lot of repair. It was locked down and was passing a truck when the draft caused this to happen. We plan on writing GM about that but still Love the car. Great bang for the buck! It is American also!
Pampered from the showroom floor until now.
My 95 cutlass supreme convertible has just 44,000 miles on it. Every single one of them was driven in beautiful weather. Never out in the rain or snow and barely out in the full blown sun. This car has only had two owners and both of us are over 60. Mostly driven in the evening when it's a pleasure to be driving a drop top automobile. Recently taken on a 500 mile trek and handled like a new one. It has a beautiful original dark teal metallic paint job with awesome white original interior. If there is another one this age that looks like mine, I'd be shocked. The only thing not original is the ac compressor. All of that was replaced last year when a leak developed in the original system.

Cutlass Supreme SL
Purchased used w/165,000 miles from an old lady for $800. Since then, I've only had to replace the front + rear brakes (expensive). The glove box is stuck open, and the serpentine belt makes noise, but overall a very solid car. Has black leather interior and all the bells and whistles. Decent acceleration from V6, but gas mileage is terrible at about 17 mpg average. Very comfortable, and classy too. Overall, a good purchase.
Reliable and Sporty Car
My 1990 Olds Cutless Supreme SL, 4 door sedan, is one of the most reliable cars I have ever owned! My friends always enjoy their smooth, sporty, and roomy ride.
A real convertible for real adults
Bought this as a summer toy for my wife. Other than being grievously lied to by the seller, the car has been perfect for us as a family to tool around in, and it gets plenty of affirmative (and envious) looks from other drivers. It's fun to drive, and with the sports package handles much better than you'd expect a car of this size to handle. Unfortunately, GM in it's infinite wisdom pulled the plug on this model, and eventually all Oldsmobiles, ending a great run. However, if you can find one, and are ready to hang on to it for a few years, it should prove to be a reasonable investment in the future, as so few of them were made.
Perfect first car.
This is a great all around car. Good engine, with few major repairs, mostly gaskets, exhaust manifold replace after 180000 miles. Very fun to drive, handles well. Cruise control doesn't work...
What a car!
What a car! I bought it at only 45,000 miles and the last owner did take care of it; this Cutlass Supreme SL is practically the "oldest new car" I know. I am impressed with Oldsmobile, I wish they would come back with a vengeance: Olds- Hybrids... Made in America!
1995 Olds Cutlass Supreme
I love my '95 Olds Cutlass. It has been very reliable and I have had not had that many problems with it. I wasn't really interested in all the features on the car (one of the last few in the lot), but once I got them, I liked them. The trunk is roomy. Within the 1st 6 months of owning this car, (trunk end), the paint under the rubber stripping peeled off. The dealership informed me this was common for this year car and offered to repair it at no cost.
Car Saved My Life
This was my first car given by my grand parents, it was a fun reliable car, and when the time for testing came this car saved my life, i was in a head on collision, where my Olds and a Camry were smashed, car was totaled but i walked away from the accident with only small cuts, i would buy this car again it was reliable, fun, and SAFE.
Love It
I can honestly say this is the first car that I would be mad if someone hit me. The car looks great. It has many many wonderful featurs that I love. The trunk is great! I have a disabeled daughter and there is enough room to carry all her needs no matter where we go. It was a great purchase for my family. I have had very few problems with the car. Great Car
Long Live Oldsmobile
I bought this car with 221,000 miles on it and everything works the car is Great i love it handling and the 3.1L V6 SFI has 160 HP the acceleration/power is amazing and great mileage i get anywhere between 26-28 MPG highway AVG its got as high as 30 MPG once it drives smooth like a Cadillac its super roomy AC super cold and Fabric seats I HATE LEATHER this car puts my moms 2000 Dodge stratus ES 4dr to shame its 2.5 L V6 Mitsubishi helped design that engine for dodge but the olds has a 3.1 L V6 and i get more horsepower better fuel economy more room and acceleration out of it there is no match OLDS wins i have only put 4,000 miles on it but so far its perfect hope to get it up to 350,000 miles.
My Baby
My son needed a used dryer, so one day my wife and I read an ad for a dryer in the next city. So off we went. This was a older couple recently remarried. They had two of everything. As we were walking into their garbage, there sat a 95 jet black convertible. New black top, perfect leather interior! 86,000 miles.Ended up with one dryer and one car! 3.4 is very hard to work on. Luckily I have a local place that has a old timer who is patient.Gas mileage is at best 18 highway, but I didn't buy it for mileage! I use this car for short trips, and house it in the winter. Looks like rain--it does not get out of the garage.
This Cutlass is very Relaible
This Cutlass Supreme is the best vehicle I have owned since I purchased a brand new Chevrolet Lumina in 1995. Both have the same V6 3.0 liter engine. The BEST engine GM built. I don't understand why they discontinued it.It must have to do with economics... The reliability and wear on this care is excellent. It was built to last. I have 99,300 miles on it and just changed the factory water pump.
Awesome car!
I am 15 and recieved this vehivle as my first car. It is fun to drive but hard to fix up into an even sportier machine. MOst teens are fixing up thier cars but there are no parts out there for the Cutlass.
still running well....
I have been burning up the highway with this car for at least the past 4 years, but it has continued to be reliable, as long as I have provided the appropriate maintenance. I'm currently at 140,000 and it is still running strong. Some appearance parts have had to be replaced, which causes me to question the feature quality, but otherwise, this is a reliable car.
Great reliable car!
After 144,000 miles I've only replaced the AC and a couple of air control knobs. Great ride, excellent comfort with driver electronic seat control, huge trunk and storage. Excellent gas mileage too. Get leather seats if you have a dog though!
Everything I Hoped For
I had been searching for this car for over a year and had given up finding one with a tan top and interior. It has the 3.4l engine. I bought the car with 33,000 miles and it now has 74,000. I wanted a bigger convertible that would be comfortable for family to ride in. The only complaints I have heard is that it is difficult to get out from the low seated position in the rear. I have had the usual wear/tear over the years: replaced batteries, breaks, tires, power antenna. Not a day goes by that I don't smile while driving this car. I still love it 1000%!
Love This Car
Purchased in 1997. It has been a wonderful car. A few repairs, but that comes with the terriorty.
Can't fix it, have to ditch it.
I loved this car for the first two years I had it. Then it developed an intermittent stalling problem. It will just quit. Sometimes when you are stopped, but sometimes when you are driving. We have been five months trying to fix it. Has been in two different garages for a total of 8 times. No codes show up on the computer. We have tried everything we know, but are ready to give up. The car only has 80K miles, but we will have to trade it in for practically nothing. It is so frustrating. No more GMs for me.
My Little Bro
My mom has a 1995 Cutlass Supreme Sedan LS. We are really satisfide with it. I will get my license soon, and the Oldsmobile will go to me. Can't wait!!! It is really fun to drive, because 170 horses not much, but enough for 33** pounds!
My Cruiser
My 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme is my "toy" for my mid-life crisis and I've enjoyed it all summer. I took it to the Cape for vacation and saw lots of BMW and Mercedes convertibles but I had the only CS convertible! I had my car done in "emergency red" with a graphite interior. It has 78,000 miles and is in great condition. The 3.4L engine is powerful and I get 23-24 mpg. Everything works on this car and I've spent no money except for gas. It is lots of fun and very underrated in resale value...last year of production with less than 4,000 made. It is considered a potential collectors car... mine is going to be in our family a long time!
Love the Look, Hate the Curse
I really like the way the 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme looks and how comfortable it is. It has loads of looks and is fun! Unfortunately it is a GM product of the 90's which means that it eventually falls apart. When you get a few miles on her things just break!
I LOVE MY OLDS
This Cutlass has been the best car I have ever had. I have had only 2 problems with the car since I have owned it - I have had to replace the alternator and we had to have (under warranty) several cd players replaced. The ones I had kept giving an error message and would not release the cd to eject it. This happened several times but finally I got one that has worked for 3 years. The car rides like a dream and has been an excellent car. The interior and the exterior still look like new when the car is cleaned up. If and when I have to trade I will have auto-withdrawal from this car. I really have enjoyed riding / driving/ and owning this car.
The Best
I love this car. I have had no machanicle problems only routine maintanece. I have never been stuck or broken down with the car. I use to commute between NY and DC 3 or 4 times per month and I never worried about getting to my destination. I was disappointed to here the Oldsmobile line was being discontinued and can only hope to have as much luck with a Buick or Pontiac.
Great Car
I love my Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. I haven't had any problems with it. I bought it with 95,000 miles on it. Now it has 135,000 is and still running strong. The only problem I have is that I have not been able to find any performence parts for it.
I'm not happy
I would like to push this car off a cliff. The controls knobs for radio, AC,& fan have snapped off many times; power windows & antennae quit; alterantor has been replaced; trim around door handles has to be tighted constantly because Olds was too cheap to put more than one screw in it. The plastic trim in the trunk panel has been replaced, the paint is flaking off the "alloy" wheels. The dash board rattles due to use of 2 different materials in it- on hot or cold days the materials have different rates of expansion & so always rattle. The hinges on the trunk door take up so much space when closed that you can't fit two large suitcases in there.
'95 Olds Cutlass
This car has been very dependable with no major repairs required for my 11+ years and over 110,000 miles of ownership. I have used this vehicle for both in town and highway driving with a family and friends.
Awesome Car
I was hesitant to buy this vehicle because it had over 190,000 miles on it, but that was almost five years ago. It now has over 250,000 miles on it and still runs great. I have had to do nothing but minor repairs to it and she is still going strong. I love this car and plan on passing it down to my daughter for her first car in 2 years.
Best Car Ever
Bought this full featured car new and it was very reliable. Other than replacing alternator no other maintenance (other than regular upkeep) required. I would still be driving this car except it was stolen in home invasion - I would have given him life sentence, not for what he did to me but for totaling "betsie". She was great on acceleration, handling and sharp looking even on the day she was stolen.
This car is great
I love to drive this car. It's reliable and the only problem I have is that it over heats occasionaly, but still I couldn't have asked for more. This car will run for a long long time if I take care of it. I'm never going to get rid of it unless I have to.
Fast and Furious !!!
Great little car with lots of pep, great on gas, and rides like a dream.

Drive it until the wheels fall off.
My car was purchased used in 1999. I divorced the next year and know nothing about cars, the biggest expense was replacing the head gaskets, which was over $1,000 repair. At that time the car had 97,000 miles on it. The antenna motor has stopped working and the antenna has broken, I have had to replace the brakes several times. The rear strut completely broke last year and I nearly lost a tire. My car now has 108,000 miles on it. I parked it in the garage for a year and purchased a 2001 Grand Am, saved enough to have the Cutlass repaired and sold the Grand Am..This car is like an old friend and still looks great. It's a single woman's dream car. I am hoping to get another 100,000 miles !
Top notch ride!
After searching several years , I was fortunate enough to find out that one was traded in to a local dealer. I went to see it. It was dirty and needed some tlc. It had 72k miles on it. When I drove it, I instantly decided to make the purchase. I found out this was a 1 owner car and spent most of it's life here in south Florida. I polished it up. Had some service done on it including a new set of tires and new belts and hoses. I am amazed how everything in the car works, The steering controls, all the lights in and out, the air conditioner power seats, windows and roof. This has been one of my greatest pleasures. I drive it every chance I get. I have been asked numerous times if I would sell it. Absolutely not. Soon, I will have a new top put on it. I love everything about this car. The styling, the drive and I love the idea that this is a rare gem that seems to bring a smile to everyone that sees it. Thank you to the previous owner for taking such great car of my car!

Has held up wonderfully! Still immaculate in 2018
Really still a great daily driver; leather upholstery has held up amazingly with good care. Exterior paint is spotless. All in all, very few cars have maintained their quality and value for such a long time. It has 168,000 miles with no major maintenance issues.

Antique now!
I love my 1995 Cutlass Supreme Convertible. My convertible history starts with a '69 VW Convertible, then a ' 65 Karmann Ghia with a Porsche engine, then a '71 Cutlass Supreme Convertible, then an '85 Chrysler Le Barron, then an '81 Mercedes 380 SL briefly before my "New" 1995 Cutlass. The Mercedes was the worst! Since there is not a decent new convertible in existence I kept my old ones. I have been driving this one for 15 years and I love it. I keep my latest Cutlass Supreme repaired and looking good because inside and out because I love the new car look, just not the new cars available in the market today. My two cutlasses have been my favorites but the Le Barron (old style) was great too. I never want to part with this one. The 1995 Cutlass Convertible was the last year of an era!
Unbelievable car!!!!
I bought this car with 42,000 miles and I have NOT had to do one thing to it except change the oil It now has 169,000 miles and I would buy another one if I could find one. they are becoming rare and sought after.

1995 Red pepper Olds
Bought this Olds Cutlass Supreme new March of 1995. Been 1 great car. I did have an after market CD player added. My sons have done a lot of work on it over the years. Had the dealer do the blown head gasket way back. Big mistake. Should have let my sons do the work. We still use it as a back-up car when my newer car has repair issues. Recently drove it on the freeway on I-15 to Rancho Cucamonga, Ca from the High Desert. Was great on the freeway. AC works really good. My newer car had a bad leak in rear end seal, so had to park it & drive the Olds. Lots of people have tried to buy it, but we still need it. Worth a lot to us. Gets good gas mileage. When you step on the gas, it goes. It's been 1 great car. My late husband had hand controls added when it was brand new, grab bars & e-brake lever. He sure enjoyed driving it.GM reimbursed us for the hand control & grab bar equipment. When he passed away, I had those removed except for grab bars. I drove it to work for quite a few years-a lot of California freeway driving. Hands down, the best car I ever bought. It has passed the California smog check every time with the first test.

Wannabe cutlass
I've owned this car for 3 months and already have to change the ac clutch and the power steering pump is whining and I have to change 2 more sensors cuz it's idling higher than normal and this car only has 65000 original miles it's a typical 90s gm car that's always needing something never getting another one

My 95 Cutlass convertible
I absolutly love the aggressive styling of my convertible. It has been a blast to drive around with the top down. It always puts a smile on my face. I bought this car 4 years ago when I was 15 and have never regreted that decision. I was brought up with 2 other cutlass's a 1994 and a 1997 coupe. So I have always had a soft spot for them. Mine just recently had a paint job. It now no longer has rust, scratches, or dents. It has been my money pit car that I am hoping to never have to sell. Its a shame up here in Michigan the ones that you see are either really beat up or rusted to death.
Very reliable, fun car
My wife and I bought a '95 Olds Cutlass Supreme 4DR as a program car with 15,000 miles. It currently has 118,xxx miles and is still going strong. Aside from basic maintenance, the only thing I have replaced in the past 7 years is the alternator at 90,xxx miles. The 3.1L engine has plenty of power to haul my wife and I and our 3 children + a trunk full of gear. I have talked to a number of Cutlass Supreme owners and have yet to find one with a major complaint with this car.
Great to drive!
This car is without a doubt, the most fun I've had driving a car...it has all the things you look for, including style. Heads turn when the top's down on this one!
