2020 Titan SV Crew Cab 4x4 - Awesome truck

I was in the market for a new truck and picked the Nissan Titan over the Ram and Chevy. I was upgrading from a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT with 5.7 HEMI. I did a significant amount of research on which vehicle was the better value for similar price points. I also looked at maintenance and consumer reviews and the Titan consistently had less issues and high consumer reviews. I know every manufacturer has some kind of issue and nothing is perfect, but I didn’t see anything monumentally wrong with the Titan. I liked the maintenance aspect of this truck, since I do my own maintenance. No turbos, 16 spark plugs, etc. just a simple V8 that had really good power and didn’t require/recommend 89 octane or higher to run properly. These are my impressions of the truck: Ride quality - drives more like a car, but maybe not exactly like the Ram’s luxury car ride that I test drove. However, it is light years ahead of my previous truck. The steering is very good and responsive and I don’t feel like it’s a chore doing u-turns in it. The cabin is quiet and mostly hear the engine when I’m climbing RPM’s and the engine just sounds tough. Drivetrain - the 9-speed really applies the power appropriately and it just wants get off the line. The 5.6 is a solid engine and has “plenty” of power to make the truck feel nimble. Has great acceleration. Interior/Tech - I purchased the truck with the convenience package, utility package, and tow package. This truck has the 9” screen and looks good with clear definition and the Nissan connect software works really well. There’s no lag or hesitation when using the interface. I feel it’s laid out well and just easy to use. The seats are cloth and wanted leather seats, but the quality of the cloth seats are very nice and not in a rush to do the katzkin seat treatment. The seats are very comfortable. Overall the interior doesn’t feel cheap like the Chevy I sat in and is actually pretty nice. I think it’s better than the Chevy for sure and a little better than the Ford. It has plenty of space in the front and in the back for a crew cab and also has all the outlets and comfort you could possibly need. I really like it the interior and have no complaints. Overall, I think this truck is excellent and totally underrated. For all the amenities that you get for the price of the truck you just can’t beat it. Plus the warranty is 100k. Just a great truck and highly recommend.

2020 Titan is impressive!

After looking at similar offerings from the big 3, I compared them against the Titan and came away impressed with the overall package. Each of the manufacturers has their high points and low points, for instance: Ram has the nicest interior/infotainment system and best ride but falls short on reliability. GMC has a great 360 degree camera system for trailering but the interior materials quality is at the bottom of the segment. It has a lot of catching up to do in that dept. Ford offers a great turbocharged V6 option (Ecoboost) with a lot of power and great fuel economy. They also tout the highest towing numbers in the class but in real-world towing situation, it just doesn’t feel confident towing over 10k lbs. go with a Super Duty truck if you want to tow more that 10k. Finally, while the Titan doesn’t offer the most configurations, it does most things really well and is a good compromise between quality and value. For 2020, they have stepped it up with a ton of high-tech safety features as standard equipment. Basically, all of the options available in high-end luxury cars now come standard on the Titan. Yes, it only offers one engine option but it is very powerful and the truck/platform pulls and tows with great confidence. The interior was recently updated with more standard tech than the competition and is only behind Ram as far as nav screen size goes. It also offers lots of connectivity options (standard) inside the cabin and the materials feel high quality. There is also an optional panoramic moonroof! Overall, you can’t go wrong with the Titan. If offers a ton of standard equipment and you can get a great deal if you negotiate, significantly cheaper than the competition. Not to mention that it offers by far the best warranty in the business, 5yr/100k miles. The Titan is not just a great value proposition, it is a very capable truck. Just spending a few minutes in a Titan, you can instantly tell that truck is built very well with high quality materials and feels very solid and planted. Unfortunately, most truck buyers will never get to experience how great the Titan is as they will only consider one or maybe two options from Detroit. Even the Tundra gets little to no respect with domestic truck buyers. Speaking of the Tundra, it is due for a major redesign in 2021 or 2022 and feels very dated so I didn’t even consider it as an option at this time.

40k miles. Still love to drive it. Very good acceleration. One issue repaired under warranty. No issues since. 15 in city and 21 mpg on interstate. CarPlay not the best with Iphone 11. Radio is somewhat haunted (comes on intermittently when I’m not in vehicle). No regrets on purchase. Other Nitpicks. The seat heaters are poor. Ventilation to back seat is not great. Battery bit the dust at about 28 months but replaced for free by dealer. Steering is probably stiffer than some might like but fine for me. Transmission downshifts roughly sometimes at low speeds which is concerning. At 39k. General tires replaced with Michelins. Rides much better. At 44k. Timing cover leak, parts ordered/covered under warranty. Software update to address radio. Hope it works. Front rotors need to be turned (grooves) but pads ok

Bought a 2019 Titan as a Dealership left over, saved a couple grand. Plenty of power, nice spacious inside, and gorgeous exterior. When you read the reviews from the sites they don't rate them the best, but the person reviews are always great. People don't want all the engine options like car and driver believes. Nissan has the one V8 and doesn't need anything else, nobody wants a V6 or 4 cylinder turbo in a full size truck.

Best Value By Far

I'm one of those typical suburbia dads who just wanted a big truck. Not for hauling or work... but just to drive to and from work and occasionally use it for home depot runs. So I wanted a truck that had the most safety and convenience features for the money. The Titan by far has the most features for the money after rebates and promotions, etc. I'm not brand loyal and 5 years ago I owned a Dodge Ram 1500 which I thought was a great truck. After that I owned a Honda Ridgeline for a couple of years which I thought was the best of all worlds. However, the Honda just didn't look the part... actually a bit dorky to say the least. So now I own a 2020 Titan SV 4x4. Interior - Very nice and comfortable interior; especially the cloth seats are amazing. The sound system sounds great and the infotainment system is awesome and easy to manipulate. The 9" screen is nicer then all except the Dodge Ram with the giant screen add-on. There is plenty of storage and cup holders. Everything seems to be as nice if not nicer than all the other brands. Like the Ram's, Nissan's interior doesn't look like it was designed by a child. Ford's interiors are so awe-full looking it's pathetic. Chevy is getting better but still looks weird. Dodge is the best by far but Nissan is a close second. Almost everything in the Titan is well put together and thoughtful. What is not that great is the upper interior door panel where you put your elbow. While it's not uncomfortable as some might describe it... it is not soft like all other manufacturers. However, the cab is designed so you can rest your elbows on the door armrest and the center console which are all very soft. Safety - Nobody comes close to the safety equipment offered at this price range. Toyota is the only one which also offers the whole safety shield thing but the Tundra is outdated and more expensive. The Titan SV is like a Ram Big Horn, or a Chevy 1500 LT, or a lower Ford F-15 XLT. However, none of the other brands offer this kind of safety stuff in their lower trims. Also, how far up do you have to go in the other brands to get "smart" cruise control. You can't beat the Nissan for 2020. Exterior - the exterior of this truck looks good and is very solid. I have the in-bed storage which is a nice option. The step is also a nice add-on for the SV. What the truck lacks in the trim is power folding mirror.. which in this case would be nice since i have the trailoring package. Also, this truck has no daytime running lights... a big omission by Nissan. However, not a deal breaker. As a matter of fact, the regular halogen bulbs are so easy to change out, that for $60 I added LED replacement bulbs which make a huge difference. Engine, Gas, Driving - The engine is awesome on power and the transmission shifts great. As a matter of fact the engine is as good as the Hemi in the Dodge. However, Nissan didn't add any fuel saving measures so you have to deal with paying more at the pump. My first tank of mixed driving was around 16mpg. I can tell that on the highway it will get around 20mpg....not great but not a deal breaker. The truck feels good to drive and isn't too stiff. It's not as soft as the others, but there's very little difference in my opinion. The only complaint I have is the steering is a bit too heavy at low speeds. If Nissan were to fix that this would be a real contender for best truck. I can see how the steering can be an issue for smaller people. However, it makes the truck feel secure and steady on the road. Overall - this truck is totally underrated. It's worth every penny once you apply discounts. Not only that, i got almost all the discounts plus 0% financing... the others couldn't touch that. I'm happy and until gas goes through the roof again I won't complain too much about pumping gas lol

2019 Nissan Titan SL Midnight Edition

Awesome truck! Had a 2006 Titan LE 4x4 for 13 years, just traded it in on a 2019 Titan SL Midnight Edition in black. Has more than enough features and options and power to keep me happy. The truck rides great and after my first 1200 miles I'm averaging 19.7 mpg (22.8 mpg is my best 100 mile trip mpg--with speeds up to 80 mph at times). The only slight drawback is the column shifter, I preferred the old Titan's console shifter and sometimes the column shifter feels a little clumsy finding its way from park past reverse and neutral to get it into Drive.

I've been driving a 2017 Platinum Reserve for 3 years. It has been a solid truck, with little to no issues. It did have to have a tailgate latch replaced, but obviously the warranty covered it. I picked up our new 2020 Platinum Reserve recently. The truck is by far the most impressive vehicle I've driven recently. The 9" touch screen is vivid and clear. The Fender audio blows the old Rockford Fosgate system out of the water! The engine is more responsive, transmission shifts smooth and is always in the power band. 400 Miles in on the first tank and it is showing 18.2 MPG on premium, my old one over 3 years averaged 13.6 MPG's, also always on premium. If you're even considering the 2020 Titan, this truck has more standard power and WAY better features than most anything that's comparably priced. I got my $62,000 MSRP truck for under $53k, and with 0% financing!

Ok so where do I start. I’m a truck enthusiast who regularly trades in every 3 years. I was getting ready to trade in my 2017 Ram Big Horn with the Hemi. While shopping with the wife for a new suv I mentioned to the salesman that the next day is my day to purchase a new truck. He asked if I’ve ever considered a Titan. I laughed it off like a bad joke as I test drove one before my Ram purchase in 2017 and thought the term “truck” for it was used lightly. He asked if the next day I would give it a shot and sit in one and I gave him my word since he was a pretty cool guy. Purchase day. I wake up, look in the mirror, give myself a halftime super bowl talk, and get ready to rumble. First stop, local Chevy dealer, as the Silverado and bow tie hold that special fuzzy place in the heart. Come to me Mr. Trail Boss or hell I’m come to you. It was sweet. It invited me to step in and stay awhile. Employee pricing plus a rebate? Thank you. Sorry mr. Salesman. I do this every 3 years and I’m not ending my run this soon. Off to the Ram dealership. My ‘17 Ram treated me well but it’s time to look at Miss 2021, the hot younger sister. Oh my 12” touchscreen, what big beautiful eyes you have. You run so smooth and quiet and have that hemi power that melts my heart. Employee pricing as well you say???? Love it. But sorry Mr. Salesman. I promised the ugly duckling in the corner a dance as well. Off to Nissan. Talking to the wife and kids about which one to get, Silverado or Ram. Pull in, kids get excited for the golf cart ride, and off we go. Then I see it from a distance. That ugly duckling ditched the braces, glasses, the acne, and dropped a few pounds to boot. Mr. Salesman what is that one? That is a Pro-4x Titan. Damn. What was this??? This think looked sweet, hopped inside, features galore. Orange stitching, orange interior lights. I fell in love. Drove it and it felt like a car while just as quiet on the inside as the Ram. Pressed the peddle and what? How can a Nissan throw me in the seat harder than my Hemi? 400 HP with 413 lbs of torque you say? For real though, I scooped up that thing with great rebates and 0% financing. Sometimes I wonder who am driving a Nissan truck but when I hop in and drive I realize why. A+++ and the new style Titan is something I wouldn’t have suspected. Hopefully the secret doesn’t get out so they keep throwing out insane deals

2020 Platinum Reserve 4x4. tested the Ford and Chevy and Ram. Ram I just still don't trust. Some of the guys I work with Have Chevy's 4 out of the 5 have had either the AC and one the transmission go out just out of warranty. $1500-1800 for repair, evap coil fracture. Had a 2005 Titan with 210,000 miles and no issues and sold for a good price. To many of the reviews are worried about 5 engine models or different configurations. I do light towing 4,000-5,000 range and do not even know it is behind me. Gas mileage is good compared to the 2005. Overall truck pulls and steers well. Not as smooth as the Ram but Ok. I thought the Chevy interior looked cheaper and will not hold up. Big item Nissan is dealing, Top of the line with many extra's (tonuea cover) and left out the door after discount and rebates at 55,000. And they gave me 3,000 over blue book on a trade. If this truck holds up like the last one I will be very happy and 5 year 100,000 mile is icing on the cake. Still loving most of the truck, only item I am concerned about is the screen. Looks scratched and we are very carefull

After owning an F-150 for 3 years, it was time to get a new truck. After looking at my options, I decided to try a Titan. Most reviews had me nervous about making that choice, but I noticed one thing. Most of the reviews by owners were very positive and they loved their Titan. My Titan feels tighter, handles better and rides as good or better than my Ford did. Gas mileage, both V8 4wd crew cabs, is about the same. You lose about 3 inches in the back seat but the rest of the truck is very comparable in size. The Ford had an advantage in a few more storage areas, a light on the tailgate and a slightly bigger rear seat. The Nissan, firmer steering, more comfortable seats and an awesome warranty of 5/100 bumper to bumper. The Ford tows and hauls more, but just by a few hundred pounds. All in all, I'm very satisfied with my Titan and think I made the right decision.

Researched half-ton trucks for close to a year before I decided on a 2019 Titan Platinum Reserve. I can't understand why so few people are buying this truck! Best warranty, great looks (subjective), strong and reliable V8, and the best deal available. I bought a 2019 Titan PR and they took 15K off the sticker before any real negotiation began. My two comments for improvement are: the remote is too small! Feels like it belongs with a Tonka truck. And the ambient lighting is near non-existent. Otherwise, I'm very, very, happy.

I have a 2019 crew cab Nissan Titan SV. I am very pleased with the truck I have 53k on it. No issues, very comfortable, smooth ride and lots of power. I love the exhaust sound has some grit to it. Comfortable back seat as well. Gas mileage is ok at 17.9 for highway and city. I wish the infotainment system was a little better but it is ok. The big thing is no issues had a F150 and Chevy by this point had plenty of issues. UPDATE: I bought my 2019 Nissan Titan SV new in 2019. I have owned it now or 3 years and 55000 miles. The truck is solid, no air noise leaks, quiet, no rattles and smooth driving. Gas mileage is ok I average 16.9 with both hwy and city. Hwy only I get about 21mpg. No issues or repairs, the original tires still on the truck look good, I rotate every time I change the oil which is every 5k. A/C blows really cold. Ride is not as good as Ram or Ford but is is not bad and I think the truck looks great. I would buy again. I'll write another review at 75 and 100k. I plan to have this truck for a long time.

Bought the 19 crew cab 4x4 Platinum Reserve, most comfortable on road trips than Ford, Chevy and Ram, I’ve owned all them. Plenty of power and great on gas 19+ @ 78mph, I’m happy with it

Unsure why these just don't sell. Powerful, nimble, comfortable, great warranty, and looks great. I have 32K miles on it and still enjoy driving it.

Over sized, rough riding, worst stereo I've ever heard in any vehicle (very poor clarity and reproduces only three instruments in a song if that), and way too much tech that just makes thing worse. I really liked my old 2004 Titan but really hate this one.

The Titan was comfortable, quiet, and powerful. The only shortcoming is the navigation system, the system is actually good but the most recent map database is dated 2017 and is grossly inaccurate! Nissan does not provide, nor will they provide, an accurate, current map. They refuse to properly support their products even though under warranty. Nice truck but do not recommend Nissan.

I have owned many trucks and for a long time just Chevy's but then two F150's. I bought my Titan about two years ago and it is been my favorite truck. The seats are so comfortable and it drives great. The only negative thing I can say is that it does not get good gas mileage but it does have a big V8 so I really can't complain.
