I downsized from 2010 Buick Enclave because i don't need that big vehicle for my small family, but still i tried to compensate the ride comfort for the substitute vehicle. So the ride quality compared to enclave is the same other than Rogue is 1500 lbs lighter. It is fun to drive where as enclave was a chore to drive in city and locally. It has more technological features - electronics and trace control, ride control and engine braking. Ride comfort: it is quiet, smooth , less wind and tire noise, light steering on low speeds and precise on highway speeds, very little body role - you can drive this like a car other than the acceleration part. The only negative is NASA inspired seats.

A Financial Nightmare: Early Transmission Failure

For the first couple of years, I thought that my Nissan Rogue was one of the best cars I could've landed on. I had bought a 2014 Nissan Rogue SV with a lot of premium features that I would grow to love over the years. At the time that I had bought my Rogue, it had around 73,000 miles on it with your typical dealership warranties. All of the professional reviews of the Nissan Rogue helped cement an impression that this car would have a long lifespan if properly taken care of. However it didn't occur to me to read user reviews, which would have revealed the serious issues these models all have to contend with eventually. Nor was I aware that these Nissan Rogues needed regular transmission fluid replacements in order to extend an already unpredictable CVT lifespan. This would all become apparent when I was driving home one day on the interstate and experienced an extremely terrifying experience as I lost all power with my acceleration pedal and my car began to lurch forward randomly. After an anxiety inducing hour, I was able to safely navigate home. Unsure what was happening, as my check engine light and warning lights were off, I got an OBD reading which brought up a solenoid warning code. This discovery revealed my first fear, as I realized that my transmission was slipping. You don't expect something like this to happen this early on your vehicle while you are still only half way paid on your auto loan. I had my Rogue for less than 3 years and had done everything you're supposed to do when caring for a car. This was financially devastating for me. A replacement cost me nearly $4,200 and took nearly a month to complete due to back orders. When I learned that Jatco CVTs had a reputation for prematurely failing and that for nearly a decade Nissan was aware of these issues, I was understandably angry. Why hasn't there been a recall? Why was no one warned about this? Of course, I wasn't alone. Tens of thousands of Nissan Rogue customers have made their voices heard online and in court. There are dozens of lawsuits against Nissan for negligence and misleading customers. Nissan's CVT defects are well known among auto mechanics, who often refuse to replace them. It took nearly 30 phone calls to find a handful of auto shops who would even touch my Rogue. Nissan won't even stand behind a brand new CVT, offering a laughable 12 mo/12,000 mile warranty. After this horrific and stressful experience, I am left saddened that a car that had me so excited, could have such a major flaw. Had I known that my Rogue's CVT was a ticking time bomb, I would have run away in the other direction. Now I am stuck with another loan to pay off the repair on top of my original auto loan. A costly lesson I hope to never repeat.

Run!!!! The CVT will go out on you. This transmission, i am sure will give out after your 60,000 mile watranty is done. You will have to get a lawyer just to fight them. I am a single mom of 6 and this was my first vehicle in 2016 as a gift to myself!!! The car is sitting in a nissan dealership with me having no way to fix it for 4,725! Nissan refuses to help pay. After seeing all of the complaints with their transmission. I still have three Years worth of car note payments on a car that's worth mud. Very inhumane Nissan!

We have had this car only 2 months now and have already had an issue with it. The navigation/entertainment system stopped working for about 24 hours. It happened when I went to move the car off the street and into the garage. I noticed it start and then turn off when I shifted into reverse. Then it would not turn on no matter what buttons were pressed. A day later it started working again. My guess is that I shifted into reverse too quickly as the system appears to need time to boot up or maybe it was because I did not fasten my seat belt. Whatever the cause was, we haven't noticed any issues with it since. I saw a couple of other posts about this before, but now they are gone? Anyone else?
