I did considerable research, and kept coming back to the Rogue to meet my needs. After several weeks of ownership this car has exceeded my expectations. The SL is very luxurious and feature laden. Essentially everything seems to be well executed. And the performance is just fine - much better than I expected after reading some of the reviews. This is a great vehicle for its purpose. Updating the review after two years. The vehicle has been overall very reliable and continues to satisfy. I had one small mechanical problem - the bolts on one of the struts for the liftgate came loose, causing a horrible rattle, it was so difficult to find that it took two dealer visits. I have one major design problem with the car - the heated seats are barely noticeable, even on the high setting. In fact, sometimes I feel like the low setting is warmer than the high. The dealer replaced the complete heated seat system in both front seats and it is slightly better - but if heated seats are important to you, you will not be satisfied with this car.

A purchase full of regrets

I completely regret this purchase. I’m a mid-30s guy, and this is bar far the worst new car I’ve ever owned. I’ve been lucky enough to own 4 in my life, all Hondas. But after the infotainment issues in my Accord, I went on a limb. The limb broke about 3 months into ownership, when a persistent rattle started in the dash where the instrument panel connects. About two weeks later, upon the first below freezing cold spell, the sunroof started to rattle when the cover was opened. Three visits to the dealership later, the problems are still present. Their fixes last for about a week, and then the problems return. The blind spot system is also completely useless in the rain b/c of false +s.

Don't agree with asceleration reviews

We bought a 2014 Nissan Rogue SV after having a basic 2010 model. We previously had Kia Sportage which we really liked. While shopping for a new car, we zeroed in on these two models. We were shocked with the highway performance of the Sportage. I actually asked the sales person if the emergency brake was on since it seemed to be very sluggish. By comparison, I never worry about accelerating from a stop light since I know that I can easily beat almost any car on the road, even without gunning it. I have no idea with other reviewers since there is no discernible shifting and I hit 60 mph. in just a few seconds.

Total loss but definitely felt safe

Had a nasty car accident in my new rogue. The good news about it was no one was harmed, however car was a total loss. The car is top safety pick for a reason. My accident was the result of my car's front end being in a side collision crash. The other car drove right through the front of the Rogue, ripping off the bumper and the engine fell out of place. The new design of virtually all plastic encasing the engine did cause for a total loss, but it allowed me to maintain control of my vehicle and did not allow the other car to come to an abrupt stop. Most of the energy transfer did not affect any of us in the car. Before the crash I had a knocking in the steering, which the dealership had a service bulletin on, this was attributed to washers, and unrelated to incident. Other than that, it rode very well, cabin was luxurious, but the infotainment system left something to be desired. Navigation system was laughable.

no brainer for the price

We looked at a lot of suvs used and new, when we added up the standard features the new gas mileage, the features and the package option that added a lot more for less than 1500 dollars this wa a no brainer. the safety features are great and at the price of the vehicle this is not even available in comparable suv's. the MPG in the 2014 models is enticing and makes you fell better buying this vehicle.
