Best Little Red Car Ever
Only repair was Air Conditioning & 3 fuel injectors in 12 years and 175000 miles. By far the peppiest 4 I've ever encountered. Top speed unbelievable. Economy from 25-35 mpg depending on. 30-35mpg @ 70mph on interstate. Doesn't use any oil. For an old retired guy, this is the best and most enjoyable car I've ever owned.
Excellent car -- fun and practical
This car is great. It is fun to drive (peppy thrust, good cornering, t-tops) and practical (hatchback for hauling bikes, very reliable, good gas mileage).
Very reliable, fun, nimble car
I have had excellent reliability with this car. I have over 250K miles and I am still on the same clutch. I am pushing 11 years with this car, but the thing will not die.
Great Car
Very nice and fun car, great on gas. I would have a new one if they still made these.
Big surprise
This car is by far the most outstanding surprise, very fast, comfortable and reliable, I am not crazy about the look but is good enough for the money.
Have had three
That's how much I like(d) these cars. One burned up, one was stolen and trashed, and the third is my 30 year old project car, teaching my son to drive stick and have fun in a lightweight, quick and nimble car. Being thirty years old, these cars are getting quite hard to find, and hard to find parts. I could get antique plates now. I've been very hard on them, racing and modifying, but the engines are rock solid reliable. The five speed had "5th gear popout" issues -- I rebuilt my transmission with the updated service file gear back in the day. Other than that, it's a solid car. The NX2000 came with the larger front brakes, a superb suspension, a sweet 2.0 liter engine that is more than happy to pull all the way to redline (and in fact you should do that regularly for engine health!). Take the t-tops off, turn off the radio, and enjoy some twisty back roads on a sunny day. It's too bad they don't make cars like this any more.

My Yellow T Top
Bought the Ttop on sight in '92 as a true sports (not muscle) car and discovered it was also a practical hatch back that let me carry almost anything up to 8 ft in length and three feet wide. MPG 30 in town driving. Speed adequate. Low engine noise in 5th gear from 35mph to XX mph. Handles great, parks great, feels great. Lots of fun. I am replacing it piece by piece. There is nothing even close now being built.
Good little car
I've had my car for two years and it's got 157,000 miles on it. I have had to replace a lot of things with this car. Only on the body, though...never anything dealing with the engine. It starts up great all the time!
Nissan NX-1600 Excellent small boy...
He runs over 137000, but still very reliable and flexible..... I am very happy to own this kind of car
pocket rocket
I've only own this car for a few months but i can help having a stupid grin on my face when i get out of it, I love the car its very reliable it just made it quater mill in mileage but it runs as if it was bought last week, the legendary SR20de engine is a perfect match for this car great on gas even with my lead foot on it just hard to find aftermarket parts for it. 3 words: "not selling it." when people ask what kinda car is it they ask whats that? i hope i can give it to my kids.
The 1992 NX 2000
I bought the 1992 NX 2000 about 2 years ago this car is very fun to drive and cool i really like the T-Tops and the hatchback thing this car is off the chain!!!!!!
Nissan NX 1600 1992
Very fun to drive,an absolute eye catcher, And very reliable would not trade for any other car in the world.
EXCELLENT BOY RACER
lOVE THIS CAR RELIABLE ECONOMICAL IT IS ONE OF THE BEST CARS TO COME FROM NISSAN. A REAL SURPRIZE
Nissan NX is a classic car!! A rare find.
I've been driving this car for about a year now. 135,000 miles put on it and it still drives great! This is just fun to drive plain and simple. It still drove even in the worst of conditions. It is built well for it being an economy car from the early 1990s. The T tops are AWESOME on this thing. An all around solid car from Nissan. They really don't make a car today that comes close to this thing. It seems even more fashionable now than when it first came on the market. Other than the fact that it rusts easily and has about 135,000 miles on it, it's still a great car and I hope to keep it around for awhile longer !!
Awesome little car!!!
I just got this car from my sis-in- law. It has 160,000 miles on it and is still in great shape. I love to drive it. It is so much fun with the t-tops off and 30 miles to the gallon is just the ticket. I actually told my husband he can have the 2008 Camry cause I LOVE driving this one a lot more!
BEST CAR EVER!
This car has never done me wrong. It has never failed to start, never hesitated to do what I ask it and has given me back far more than I could ever give it. It starts even in -40c (and below) every time. The only things I have had to replace are the fluids, breaks and tires. The spark plug went at just over 350,000km and original battery just recently gave out at 405,864km. Other than that I have never had to put a dime in it beyond rotations, 1 alignment and changing tires. It is unbelievable to me that Nissan stopped making this car as it is a blast to drive, out performs almost every car I've driven (except new cars) and is straight up amazing! It's never given me anything but it's best!
NX2000 was a Superb Product
I bought my Nissan NX2000 in 1992. There weren't a lot of options, but it was a "Pocket Rocket" up to the day someone pulled out in front of my son and totaled it. It still ran almost 130 mph, passes the Illinois hydrocarbon test with flying colors, got 32 mpg, did 0-60 under 8 seconds and handled great. That car was never in the shop for anything but routines, I changed the oil every 5000 miles, and the finish on the paint was great, still shined up nice...not a rust spot.
NX2000
This has been and still is a great car. The quality and performance is exceptional; I got 151,000 out of the original clutch, along with the exhaust system and alternator. I have driven this car extremely hard in the 9 years I have owned it, and it has responded admirably. A blast to drive!
NX2000 Adieu
Purchased the car new in 1993. This car has been reliable, durable and sporty. Replaced muffler at 153,000, still has original clutch at 170,000 and steady 30 mpg. Ignoring minor body damage and wife's complaints about the aging beauty. Since the model discontinued, shopping for adequate replacement in the next few months, the new 350Z, perhaps the CL or G35
So Much Car--So Little Money!
This little car is my all time favorite! She's so fun to drive, so fast, still so modern looking that it is a wonder I'm not in jail--this car will fly if you are not careful. This car is safe and reliable to boot. It is really too bad Nissan quit making such a great little sports car! What a loss. My only complaint--I have to open the door with a key--no beeper like everyone else has these days!
my nissan 2000 nx
This is a great first car. And a great summer car with the t-tops. You get alot of look s with this car also because it is rare. it is just all in all a great car
Excellent Car!
The NX has been a fabulous car to drive. In TEN YEARS (purchased new) I have had absolutely NO surprises! It is solid, safe, fun to drive, reliable, and great to look at!
They don't make 'em like this anymore...
Didn't have any strong expectations, it wound up blowing me away. Torquey engine, impressive power, very impressive 32mpg economy. Bland cockpit, but the steering, shifter, and controls all offer very nice tactile feedback. With the rear seats folded down, the car offers tons of hauling space, par with most mini-SUVs. Lastly, T-tops? It's not a little roadster by any stretch of the imagination, but having that combination of power, versatility, economy, and still having the wind in your air makes it almost the perfect car!
NX'en the fun car
Nothing bad to report. The T-tops rock on a nice summer night. Nice peppy 1.6L with decent power.
None Better!
12 years new and still going strong. After 136000 miles the car still runs like new and has been dead reliable in all kinds of weather. Only routine maintenance and no problems! Nissan definitely missed the boat by only building "the egg" for 3 years.
Great car!
I have had no major problems out of this car. It has great power for a 4 cylinder thanks to its SR20DE motor, and the 4 wheel disk breaks are strong and linear. Excellent japanese build quality.
Good Car - still going
Car has almost 120k miles on it and have had a couple problems: A/C doesn't work ($$ to repair) - use to cycle cool/warm air. Had to replace starter and also water pump. Replaced hatch struts too. Still on original clutch but there is some noise downshifting to 2nd so car will eventually need some work. MPG is around 24 on average. Use to get more. Car is starting to show/feel its age--running a little bit different, paint fading. The 195/55 tires don't offer many choices these days (only two). Overall decent car.
Nissan NX 2000 is Great!
Very reliable car all around. Engine is very powerful & reliable. Fun car! There is also lots of aftermarket support. Check out se-r.net, sentra.net.
an underated car
i bought this car as a gas saver only and was pleasantly suprised by its pep in the city and its consistent ride on the highway. I've had no problems at all in the 30k miles i've owned it. I recommend this nissan to anyone.
SILENT ARROW
Day by day that car run better.
1993 NX-1600 ~ Fantastic little car!
Never broken down on me, never ran out of gas (even when it should have), never got stuck in the mud or snow...nothing! Just starts right up every time and gets me where I gotta go. It's small but some how roomy on the inside, More than once all I've had to do to accommodate for my Great Dane! Is take out the tops and fold down the back seats and she fit just fine! Lol sure we got plenty of strange looks from other drivers but I love driving it and she loves the T-Tops! The only thing I personally could say I wish were different about it. Is how low the bucket seats are (I'm 5'2) so I do have to sit on a cushion to be able to see over the wheel and reach the clutch. Lol But I make it work;)
