Very Nice 4 cylnder Midsize Truck!

This is 3rd Nissan Truck and it's an improvement! My first truck that I buy w/ an automatic transmission. Pluses: Mid-size truck feel, handsome exterior, smooth shifting automatic transmission, big cargo bed, firmer truck ride, lot's of interior storage, durable cloth seats, power package/keyless entry, back doors that swing open to allow the the occasional passengers. Folding side mirrors, side airbags, anti-lock brakes, and bigger fuel tank. Lots more cargo room than my last Frontier! Reputation for reliability and better resale value than most domestic trucks. Today's vehicles have lots of interior plastics, and Nissan uses quality plastics.

This is my second Frontier. I have owned Toyota, Mazda and Nissan trucks in the past. This is a much bigger vehicle. I am getting 24.9mpg with a range of 420 miles! Very solid feel. I got the SE with a manual and the power package. (This was a HARD to find combination!) The throttle by wire takes a little getting used to but it works great. The turning radius is about 4' larger than the pre- 2005 models but again, this is not a small truck. It feels more like an Ford F150 but it gets almost 25mpg. And that is mostly city driving to boot. The manual transmission works great and really lets you maximize the mpg. I wouldn't get a 4 cyl with an automatic transmission.

Forget Toyota, get a Frontier!

This was the my first ever Nissan. I looked at Toyota, Ford, Suzuki, and Dodge. The dealer became the difference. I had a great experience. Having said that, I love my truck. I have the 4 banger with a 5 speed auto. The millage I get so far is better then the EPA at 19 city and 23 highway. It handles well but takes U turns wide. The auto has a hard time picking a gear in mountain driving. San Jose rains a lot and it handles very well in wet and windy conditions. I love everything about this truck! I would stongly recommend it and honestly after looking at the Toyota, I see little reason to buy one when the Frontier is a better truck in my opinion. Also check out the Suzuki Equator.

Bought this truck just before Christmas 2009. I tell you what a fun truck to drive , a very very peppy 4cyl with a smooth shifting Auto Trans. This truck really moves, handles well, and is very very quiet! Had a 2000 Frontier but this one is a far cry better !!! I would recommend the 4cyl Auto to anyone if you just need a truck to drive and not pulling anything. Plenty of ZIP getting on the Highway. Love the ride also the 16" tires and wheels are a nice addition. Overall as you can tell i am very impressed with this truck, the more i drive it the more i like it !!! And it is a very nice looking truck at that ! Traded a Honda CRV for this and have not looked back since !!! Way to go NISSAN

Honest review 177,000 miles

I purchased my 2010 4.0 V6 SE 2WD back in 2016 with 70,000 miles. Initially it was a major upgrade that I desperately needed for work. I drive at least 50-70 miles a day working construction around town. So far these are the issues I have had and or currently have with it: - Starting issue (replaced IPDM $120.00) 130,000 - Dead battery($140.00) 140,000 - Leaking at passenger side heater hose pt# 27185M and 92400( replacement part $60.00) 150,000 - Stalling/loss of power issue ( replaced alternator $240.00!!! /timing belt as well $20.00) 177,000 - Stalling/ loss of power (replaced Camshaft Position Sensor $80.00) 177,000 - Leaking power Steering fluid ( have yet to fix) 177,000 I have taken the liberty of learning how to work on my own vehicle, just a little bit every day. In my honest opinion if you take care of this truck it will be good to you. However maintaining this vehicle has been quite expensive and tedious to remove and install parts and pieces due to the design of the engine. - Full synthetic oil+filter ($50.00) from walmart. I have to use about 7 quarts in mine even though owners manual says 5. - Transmission fluid 999MP-MTS00P Nissan Matic-S Automatic Transmission Fluid ($20.00/quart) will need about 4 for a standard flush. If you are willing to put in the effort and dont abuse it its a good buy. BUT!! Do your research... some years and models have different issues that may only surface later on down the road. It would be wise to look at RANGERS, TACOMAS, and the HONDA RIDGELINE as well.

Only had it three weeks and it's such fun that every night, we all find an excuse to go out on an errand or to get ice cream. I'd describe the driving experience in more detail, but can barely pry the keys out of my wife's hand. Cool enough that our seventeen year old covets it. Love it love it love it

Sold my car and traded my old truck in for a Nissan Altima on the cash for clunkers deal, then determined I could not live without a truck. The only 2 that I would consider was the Toyota Tacoma and the Nissan Frontier. For the price there was no comparison. Ken Pollock Nissan gave me a great deal. I could not be happier with this truck and realized this is the only vehicle I need and now selling the car.

This truck fulfills a need to haul equipment for the weekend warrior and provides great transportation for the daily commute. I am consistently averaging 20 MPG. A 10 hour drive is very comfortable for two. The jump seats are only used for a short local trips. I installed a spray in bedliner plus a matching color high cap over the bed to keep items dry and out of sight. The truck looks great and performs well.

This Is my 6th Nissan Truck. I have had a 1990, 1997, 2002, 2006,2007,2010. All the trucks were very good in every way. The 2010 has gobs of power. I have always had the 4 cy till know. I like the 6 cy but if gas goes up a lot I would likely go back to the 4cy. I like the manuel trans. I have had in on all my Nissans. Truck is quality inside and out.

The first tank of gas averaged 25.2 mpg. The truck rides like a truck which is expected. I use my truck for work and this is the 5th Nissan I have bought. I have never had a problem with service and have never had any major problems with any of the truck I have bought. The only complaint I have is wind noise. The sound proofing could be a little better.

I was looking at the Tacoma TRD and the Frontier PRO4X. I feel both trucks are great. Why I went for the Fronier is it felt more comfortable, had more power and felt like it, the automatic shifted better, and the options were more to my liking. The sprayed in bedliner is and the rail system is awsome, not slippery when wet like a composite, also like the radio and 6 CD player, sound great, and the blue tooth is a plus. Never like the looks of the new Tacomas I think the PRO4X color keyed front end looks awesome, but that is in the eyes of the beholder

I grew up driving old stick shift PUs. And I use a PU as a PU. This is my third King Cab with 4cyl/5 spd manual. Mpg with proper use of manual is a pretty steady mid-20s, up or down a few mpg depending on driving conditions and brand of gas, and reliability seems to be a given. I'm not going to bad mouth other small pickups out there. I've driven them and used them and a couple of them I really liked. But when the time came to fork over the money for a new one, I just couldn't bring myself to do it for anything other than what I think is best of breed.

Recently bought truck. Has value package & bed liner with bed extender. Considered Tacoma, Dakota, Ranger & Colorado. 1st truck since 89 Toyo 4x4 with 4 cyl manual. Main reason for buying Frontier over Tacoma (1st choice) - $. Nissan gave $2K rebate, plus another $1K since I own Toyota + dealer sold well below invoice. Great value for $. Was torn between the 4 cyl and 6. Got the 4 because it's mostly a commuter truck with weekend warrior activity. After 1,700 miles happy with truck, but 4 cyl lacks power with auto trans. Highway driving is fine when up to speed. But lack of power is apparent when getting on highway, stoplight to stoplight, hills or with load in bed.

I Purchased my Frontier 11/09. I researched a number of trucks and for the money, options, and owner reviews, my decision was easy. To put icing on the cake, when I test drove the truck, I went from city to highway and back to city driving and she rode like a car but had that firm suspension a truck needs. I once owned a 06, F-150 but had door problems from the start. I'm very pleased with my frontier. It hauls my trailer (loaded) with ease. I have taken a couple of 600+ mile trips and love how it handles on the highway. The seats are comfortable and with the 16" wheels she sits up pretty high. Super Black is the color of mine and she is shines all around town.

The first and second both have 300,000 miles I've never had any major problems except the normal things brakes, clutches, batteries and tires the reason I bought the new one was I got tired of looking and driving the old one. I expect to get 300,000 out of this one also! These are great little trucks

I wanted a basic, simple truck, and that's what I got- roll-up windows, the horn doesn't beep when I lock/unlock the door, no power stuff to break. I like the 5-speed and 4- cylinder combination, although I have to gear down on hills even more than with my manual shift Camry. Don't even think of mating a 4-cyl with a slushbox. Only one nit-pick so far. The lower grille is a gaping empty hole leaving the radiator and A/C condenser with no protection from flying rocks. I am thinking of bolting a piece of stiff 1/4-in fence wire to the lower plastic and painting it black.

Bought an SE King Cab and have liked it with the manual and V-6: great acceleration and fun to drive. My issue is that despite having paid for Nissan spare tire lock, the spare was stolen within weeks and Nissan is refusing to do anything. The ease of stealing spare tires is big issue for Nissan trucks & SUVs (I had two stolen off 2008 Pathfinder) and it's very hard to find a way to secure them. Almost every Nissan SUV owner in my neighborhood that I've spoken with has same issue. Dealer said Nissan lock would suffice, but the thieves just bypassed it and removed everything from above the spare - and yes, they also stole the lock!! Will cost me $1,000 to replace it all. Very unhappy...

Vehicle 6 yrs old with 21828 miles. Took vehicle to dealer for inspection, they informed me the left rear oil seal was blown and would need to be replaced for $650.00. Nissan would not help with the matter since the vehicle is out of warranty. Only 21828 miles and blowing an oil seal????? Buy a toyota.

A big improvement over my old chevy S10. Very quiet and comfortable highway ride, reasonable economy (19.1 mpg after 1000 miles). Impressive acceleration and thoughtful bed rail system are appreciated. However, it lacks in available amenities. Every road bum sends an annoying jump up the steering wheel. The auto-transmission keeps going into overdrive too soon, it's especially bad going uphill and the manual override is poorly implemented. However, at startup, the rear wheels spin very easily. The gas pedal is too light and has poor feedback. Also, the brake feels soft and unresponsive. Lastly, I keep activating wipers inadvertently - too close to the steering wheel.

Instead of a Toyota, I bought a Nissan Frontier 4X4 and drove it home from the dealership 200 highway miles. The last 20 miles were over a snow packed, icy, steep dirt road through a forested and mountainous area. It was midnight and I was alone. I'm a 71 year old great grandmother and felt totally secure. Though still quite new, I really trust this truck. If you're looking for a smaller, rugged all- terrain pickup, check out the Nissan Frontier. For performance, it's an impressive vehicle.

When my teenager totaled my 2009 Frontier with less than 9000 miles on it, I didn't think twice about replacing it with the exact same spec 2010 -- even the same Radiant Silver. (He walked away with only a bruised shin after sliding into a telephone pole that totaled the vehicle. The safety features, especially the intrusion bars in the doors worked as designed. The Value Truck package is even better value on the 2010, adding the Tow Package to the deal. With the rebate, this is an incredible value for a powerful, tough 4WD truck that's well- equipped and fun to drive. The V6 is simply best-in-class, an incredibly smooth and powerful engine.

I traded in my Jeep Compass for this new Frontier and I love it. It handles, snow, ice, mud, steep, rocky mountains roads as well as town driving. My biggest impression was with the sturdiness of this truck. It feels very durable. Despite gas mileage estimates, I get 25/21 mpg, even in 4X4.

With a lower weight/horsepower ratio, 4-wheel disk brakes, roomer interior, better ride, less engine noise, outstanding road feel, and a much, much better financial deal than than Toyota offered on a similarly-equipped Tacoma, I chose the 2010 Frontier. If this truck is as durable as my '97 Nissan truck I'll be very happy.
