Armada save 10K OVER the others
My first impression when looking to buy a new large SUV was that the Nissan gave me more for less. Have experience in R&D for a key supplier for the automotive manufacturers, I also know there is no free lunch. GM interiors stink in part on the quality of the plastics they specify. The gaps, finishes wearing off items, it is all related. Ford is better/tighter in its specs and the Japanese, esp. Toyota are the best. Nissan uses a number of parts from the Infinity version and you have those high quality bits. In short, the vehicle is well built, I have had no problems in 15K miles, tows well up to 5000lbs, above that a pickup is better, but it will still do it. Note I find the drivers seat not as comfortable for those over 6'1" and the third row is for kids. It also has excellent back seat leg room. As far as the price, I can only come up with that Nissan has lower margins on this vehicle than GM or Ford does of theirs. Update at 36,000 miles and almost 3 yrs of ownership. I have become generally more pleased with the vehicle as time has gone on. So far just general maintenance and no repairs. Tires wear well when rotated and it appears I will get in the low 40k range on the tires. Passengers generally comment on how comfortable and spacious the rear seats are. Towing is good and the load leveling aspect helps level the truck. I would still like more driver seat adjustment. My daughter who does not like driving larger vehicles got used to this truck on a long highway drive. I do much of my own maintenance and I am always impressed with the heft of the chassis and "running gear" underneath this truck. UPDATE: 48,000 miles and no issues. I did change the front and rear differential fluids; the rear was darker than the front. Gas mileage remains about 18 combined. I have noted that the a/c temperature setting and what it delivers is sensitive to the cabin filter being clean. Now change filter 2X year. Do basic maintenance and it runs and runs.

Continues to be a Great SUV!
We now have over 100k on our Armada and we still like it, but we finally had several repair issues between 30-100k. First, we had battery/electric system issues. We are now on our 3rd battery and the dealership says this was from our aftermarket trailer brake attachment, but who knows? That's annoying, but nothing that can't be overcome and we don't really tow that frequently anyways, so we just leave it disconnected now and maybe they were right because we haven't had any issues in over a year now. The major issue that we had regarded the safety sensors. Please Google Nissan Armada BCI malfunction because it's unfortunately common in both the Armada and Q80 platforms. Basically, the BCI malfunction results in your safety sensors not working as intended, which initially disables most, if not all, of the auto safe features of the vehicle. Driver's assists, such as adaptive cruise control, collision avoidance, lane departure/collision, etc, are either degraded or disabled. However, there are reports of the vehicle's faulty sensors deciding to spontaneously turn on resulting in a near-instantaneous restoring of driver assist functions and results in an unwelcomed, if not dangerous, safety correction - which did happen to my wife while driving down I-10 resulting in her being pulled off into the shoulder due to inappropriate breaking and a "lane departure assist" that she did not require or desire. Thankfully, this was the only instance that we had with our Armada and we never experienced the advanced issues that others have reported, but it did result in the replacement of 2 x faulty sensors. Side note, the dealership initially told us that "all of the sensors required replacement." Our Armada has never been in an accident and has received all of the scheduled maintenance items, so it has been abused by our family of 6 on road trips, but it has been maintained. Aside from this, we still enjoy the comfortable ride and it does very well for 5 people with luggage/gear, but you will still need a trailer tow-hitch or back pack/small bags if you are traveling with 6+ with luggage/gear (think sporting event weekends, beach trips, etc). After 100k, mileage continues to remain unchanged. We are still happy with our purchase and so long as you don't have a BCI warning, we still recommend the Armada to anybody looking for a family SUV that can handle just about anything. Original Review Below: The 2019 Platinum Armada comes equipped with just about every bell and whistle that you could want. While the tech and layout are somewhat outdated compared to newer competitor models, the Armada continues to provide a comfortable ride with tons of safety features and it's actually fun to drive. While it may be somewhat outdated, the tech that the Armada offers is decent. The driver display and cabin layout are efficient and easy to learn. The maps and Navigation system are accurate and work well, but the system is cumbersome to input an address into. You can import locations/addresses via your smartphone, but this is still a chore and I never fully got the hang of it (or honestly cared to). That being said, it still is functional and works well. There is no Android Auto or Apple Car Play in the Armada, which as I previously said is weird because other Nissan models have it, but oh well. Our family has both Android and Apple and everybody can connect their phones to the system via Bluetooth or USB. There are 4 x accessible and usable USB ports: 2 x in the front and 2 x in the middle row, which work great. As I said in my previous review, we are coming from a Honda Odyssey minivan, which has the central TV screen. The Armada has the dual, built in TV screens in the back of the front seat headrests. The middle row USB can control their respective side TV screen to independently play/stream media, if desired. Or you can play DVD from the front console (only DVD, not BluRay). Additionally, we haven't had any issues or complaints with our kids viewing the TV screens from the back seats. Finally, the sound system is awesome. I'm not sure if this is from the Bose sound system, the sound dampening interior, or combination of both, but whether it's music, podcasts, or movies playing, the sound is great. The seats are very comfortable and there is more than enough passenger comfort space in the front and middle row captain chairs. The front seats are ventilated/heated and can be multipositioned. The middle seats are heated, can be reclined/inclined, and are still very plush, roomy, and comfortable. The 3rd row in the back is definitely not the same. I'm 6'2" and can fit back there, but I wouldn't want to go more than an hour riding in the back. Our family of 6 with 2 x dogs can still take road trips (see luggage/cargo concern below). I still like all of the safety/driver aids. The adaptive cruise control holds speed and standoff distance like a champ. The collision warning/self breaking can be harsh, so check your settings, but it works well. The lane keeping assist can be overbearing at times, but it's easy to disable if you don't like it. I only enable it on long road trips and it's nice once you learn the nuances. The blind spot warning and intervention works well and the cameras offer true dimensions and great lines of sight. We have found the Armada to be very responsive and it handles much better than you would expect from a big SUV. It turns sharply, handles well and thanks to the V8, you most certainly can get up and go if needed. City and highway driving are nice thanks to the high ride with excellent lines of sight. The only blind spots I have issues with are the right front and rear bumper regions - and thanks to the bird's eye view, safety cameras, large mirrors, and warning systems, this really isn't an issue. It offers a smooth, level ride despite any turns or potholes encountered. We haven't really needed the 4WD, but on the 2 x occasions we used it, it performed well and we didn't get stuck in mud. We haven't really been in icy/snowy conditions much, but so far, the Armada has handled well in all environments. My only concerns continue to be the relative poor fuel economy and lack of luggage space with all 3 rows in use. With respect to the fuel economy, it's a 3 ton SUV with a large V8, so expect it to be bad. We're still averaging 14 mpg mixed with city and highway driving. We have found that true city stop and go driving gets in the 10-12 mpg range and highway driving gets in the 16-20 mpg range. With the middle row Captain's Chairs installed, there is actually a fair amount of internal storage space in the cabin, so the personal space is awesome, but the back luggage area will barely fit 2 full size suit cases unless the 3rd row seats are straight 90 degrees. We ended up getting a trailer tow hitch with a cargo bag to overcome this. It's a hassle, but well worth it (side note - minimal, if any, effect on gas mileage). Final note, we towed a small travel trailer (~4000 lbs) and the Armada handled it as though it wasn't there, with the exception of the trash fuel economy (we averaged 8-9 mpg while towing).

We are very pleased with our purchase!
We bought our 2019 Armada Platinum about a month ago. This is our 2nd Armada. We’ve racked up about 800 miles so far and it’s everything we hoped it would be. Comfortable, quiet ride. Very roomy. Kids love the captains chairs in the back as well as the DVD player. I keep hearing folks talk about the gas mileage, what do you expect when you buy a beast. You can’t have everything. Go buy a Prius and sit on top of each other. We are very pleased with our purchase.

Great riding vehicle
I have rented Armada's many times and always enjoyed driving them. So much so, that i finally bought one. I cannot think of a car that rides better than this vehicle, and my other car is a Lexus, and i will drive this one any day over that vehicle. Smooth, quiet, and powerful.

Severely Underrated SUV
The first time I drove the Nissan Armada was a mistake. I was moving across the country and was given the Armada instead of the Suburban I had requested. Was I upset!!! I attempted to exchange the car for another SUV and was out of luck. I wasn't thrilled about the look and wasn't happy about the lack of cargo space. Well, after putting 2000 miles on the rental, I was sold. It got me across the country safely during the winter and in comfort. The SUV had power... tons of power. This beast could pass a car on the road effortlessly. It was quiet, smooth and unbelievably comfortable. I'm not a techie and enjoy simple things like a nice quiet cabin & smooth ride, easy access to the infotainment, a nice sounding stereo, moon roof, cup holders and brakes that don't squeak. In short, everything I needed was in the Armada SL and more. When it was time for me to trade in my Durango, I drove all the top SUV's before looking at the Armada, including the Suburban, Yukon, Telluride, Expedition etc... When it was time for me to drive the Armada, I knew immediately that the search was over. Nothing drove as smoothly as the Armada or felt as luxurious. I now have 57'000 miles on my big blue beast and have never had one issue. I've averaged about 16 mpg over the life of the car, terrible mpg for today's standards, but it wouldn't stop me from leasing/buying another Armada in the future. I was hoping that Nissan would have a new look for the 2024 model with better gas mileage, but it appears I'm out of luck. Before settling on an SUV, make sure to put the Armada on your list. The reviews have been harsh... too harsh.

Overall, a very good experience
The other posts are correct about the starting issues. I had swapped the brake switch and then still had the issue. It ended up being addressed under warranty with a software update (Search NTB19-099) and haven't had the issue since. I work from home, prior to COVID as well. So, I don't put a lot of miles on it and drive it infrequently as I have other cars. I use it mostly for towing a boat and longer family trips. I love the sound of the V8 and it's an extremely quiet cabin compared to any vehicle I've owned before or currently do. The rear air suspension levels out when I have a trailer, or the boat connected. It feels planted towing 6000# at highway speeds. If i had to replace it, I'd get another Armada without hesitation.

Great SUV if I could get one that worked correctly
Nissan does not stand by their product. I have dealt with a continual problem on my 2019 armada platinum for 36k miles and the dealer has attempted to fix it 9 times without success. Nissan refuses to do anything. This is my second Gen 2 armada platinum and the first one had a terrible issue with the transmission that took many attempts to correct and never really worked like it should. I had to trade that one in to get a proper working transmission. So here I am almost 5 years after buying a Nissan armada still dealing with problems they can’t seem to fix and won’t offer a solution for. We have also owned 3 QX56/QX80 and those did not have these kinds of issues. Seems illogical since they are basically the same vehicle.

Fantastic family SUV
This is our 2nd Armada. We owned a 2019 SL and bought a 21 Platinum. This 21 Platinum has every single option and is the EXACT same vehicle as the QX 80 for less $. It rides like an absolute dream, super quiet inside and the styling is amazing. The updated screen and wireless carplay is great. Wireless charger is hit and miss, has to be on perfectly which rarely works out. Very happy with the purchase. Gas mileage is bad, but I knew that going in based on the last one we had. That's a price you pay to have a large SUV that is super comfy and roomy for the family.

New.... to me, Armada
A couple of years ago I rented a large SUV for a family trip and ended up getting an Armada for that trip. Long story short, 2 years later, when I needed to replace my Ford pickup (after 40+ years of Ford pickups) I decided to try something different... Bought a second hand 2021 Armada with 70,000 miles and have never been as pleased with a vehicle. The Beast (as I call it) has the quietest ride I've ever been in. The seats are extremely comfortable, it has an awesome sound system. When you have to move and hit the gas, that V-8 will definitely get it done. I've read a few people complain is that the controls are somewhat dated... personally as kind of a dinosaur myself, I really like the knobs and buttons. Very satisfied Armada owner here!

Armada vs GL550
i traded a GL550...my third one....for a Platinum Armada and there is no comparison. The Nissan gets a bum rap from the reviewers over the gas mileage. The Armada runs on regular and the oil can be changed at the quick change. Figure the difference in price of gasoline vs just those two items. The Armada is larger, more comfortable, just as quiet and has a killer HVAC and radio. As to the back seat, did the reviewers ever SIT in them? Compare to a Chevy or GMC rear seat. The Nissan is a LIMO! Have I said enough. WE LOVE THE ARMADA.

Electrical Issues Galore / Lemon Law
Within the first 18 months, our 2019 Armada was towed 8 times. Eight. It happened twice right before we were leaving for vacation. It simply wouldn’t crank. It happened the first time at less than 6,000 miles. The dealer could only say it was an electrical issue somehow connected to the brake sensors. They would reset a few things and it would work for 2 months. There was later a recall that they guaranteed would fix it. Then it didn’t. Then on the eight tow, still for an electrical issue, they called in a corporate mechanic and “figured it out.” We contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs and they have officially ruled it eligible for lemon law and we are in the process of a buyback. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR.
Great SUV if you can get it to start- Updated
Update: I’ve now had my Armada about 3yrs and have 78,000 miles on it. The not-starting issue was a sensor at the brake which tells the CPU the brake is engaged for starting. It didn’t think the brake was being presses so it wouldn’t start. The first time at the dealership the said that wasn’t the problem. The second time they replaced it and no more starting issues. Apparently this is a common problem. Other than that no more serious mechanical issues. The navigation and audio controls are still a hot mess. Nothing could be done about that because that’s how they were designed. It seems to struggle starting many times as if the battery is low. I still have the factory battery and had it checked under load and it was fine. Overall I’m now happy with the Armada! I bought a one yr old Armada with 35K miles on it. For ride, comfort, feeling safe while driving, and just looking good I would give it Very high marks. The technology controls are a hot mess. Not easy to navigate and just programmed backwards. My SL has the collision avoidance system which will hit the brakes for you if you’re not slowing down quick enough. It works great and the manual says it should almost always be on, but the default is off?!? You have to remember to turn it on every Time you start. It makes no sense. If someone is in your blind spot the blind stop indicator light is too dim. It’s sometimes hard to tell if it’s even on. It you turn on your blinker but someone is in the blind spot it chimes quickly which is great but the volume is so low it’s hard to hear! Neither is adjustable from what I could find. Here’s the biggie. The SOB many times just simply wont start. Not a battery, key Fob, or mechanical issue....it’s the electronics, electric control unit, or brake sensor. I’ve had it less than four months and it wouldn’t start as it should at least 20 times. As I write this this is the second time I had to have it towed to the dealer because i couldn’t get it to start for over a full day. Many times it won’t start but you let it sit for 5-30min it would somehow reset itself then start. Stopping to fill up or to leave work is a way to stressful situation because I may get stranded. I’m currently documenting and preparing for legal action if they can’t or won’t fix it. I’m not paying for a $35K driveway ornament. This is not an uncommon problem with the newer Armadas or Q56’s from online blogs but Nissan hasn’t cracked the code on how to fix. If it wasn’t for the not starting Debacle I’d give it a 3.5 or 4.

New tow vehicle needed
I traded my 12 Expedition as it was time for an upgrade. I was disappointed this did not have CarPlay but proceeded anyway. Overall - this is a lot of fun to drive. Sight lines are great. Lots of low end torque rides smooth and quiet. I have one annoying rattle near the shifter/AV console that I cannot figure out. Less than 500 miles on it thus far so I think it’ll be going in for a look. I have yet to tow anything with it but based on its HP and tranny, it will pull my 3,500 lb boat around fine. My 7 yr old Ford pulled it around fine with it as well.

Great SUV!
This is my 2nd Armada...1st Armada I had for 4 years and this 2019 Armada for 3 years now with no issues on either vehicle. The only only negative is no apple car play, my son's car has this and I absolutely love it! I really wish they would add this at some point. Otherwise, this SUV is the smoothest I have ever driven for it being so large! Of course the gas mileage sucks, but what do expect when you buy a V8?!! The interior is luxurious and comfortable and large enough for everything I need it for. I would highly recommend this SUV!!

Not Prefect so is MB and Bimmers/solid as rock
Definitely not a Gas sippers like Highlander Hybrid, luxurious X7, nor MB GLS 450. Yet, it growl like meanest vocal and powerful like the Tenor, Luciano Pavarotti. The engine sound really makes you want to push down the throttle, again and again. Soooo damm GOOD! Does Hybrid can reach 60MPH in 6.3 seconds? NO absolutely impossible, but the 5.6 litre Armada does. Does Bimmer X7 .4.4 or MB GLS AMG63 has price tag as reasonable as the MSRP of the ARMADA Platinum so like middle income earners, like myself, can consider to have one in their Garage. Oh!, don't forget all the bells and whistles that comes with standard unlike the x7 5.0 and AMG. In addition, end of the year or/and because previous generation model, you'll get hefty discount, like myself, did knock off $12K from fully loaded ARMADA Platinum's MSRP. How about that?! Already SATISFIED 100%. Outdated Infotainment ? Once enter into the driver's seat or any seats, you are deeply mesmerize by real leather seats unlike similarly equipped or better equipped TOYOTA SEQUOIA TRD PRO, which has leatherette not real leather. OH?!!! and don't forget even the 3rd row seat is REAL LEATHER!!! Anyone can adapt to master uncommon tech device and smallish buttons :( :) Just relax and tune for the Pavarotti's powerful tenor tone. The standard 13 speakers BOSE will please your ears. REMEMBER STANDARD for Platinum trim. Does MB or Bimmer included or Toyota Sequoia, GMC Yukon, Chevy Tahoe, Caddy's Escalade? Find yourself at the dealers. Silk smooth 4 corner independent suspension soak up the little ones, compare to solid real axle which is bit more bumpier. Remember the Armada can tow up to 8,500lbs. Steering feel loose but always nearly stay center and adjust accordingly with how the road surface is slope. However, body roll is very minimal and can confidently push this 6,000lbs beast to cornering. Alright, the Armada so far averaged 15 miles per gallon with UNLEADED not with Premium Unleaded gas. Of course been soft on the throttle, but don't know until when because the engine sounds so temptingly excellent feel like driving Mustang GT. Put 4 stars because of gas per miles gallon, but overall especially compare to 6 figure name brand vehicles? I'm not an automotive analyst nor critics drives tons of new fancy vehicles every year, but for the American Middle Income Earners, definitely consider to have this Armada PLATINUM!!! Recently, 2300 miles trip down to California. Comfortable cruiser on the tarmac. 20.07 MPG average. Quiet unlike no other . Reliability is on my hand like confidence after 5 years. No issues at all. Too bad Nissan will no longer offers 5.6 However, twin turbo 3.5 pro 4x with rear locker is rear deal that many armada enthusiasts been waiting for!!!

Great Vehicle
This truck is a great vehicle. It is big, comfortable and powerful. If you are looking for fuel economy then you are looking at the wrong vehicle. It's size weight and engine are not made for economy. If you judge this vehicle by a ragged out rental you are missing out. The infotainment system is out dated but still has most things you need. You get this vehicle for the ride and towing capacity and it does these things very well.It is a well made and reliable vehicle. The comfortable ride and road presence are its best qualities.

Wow, absolutely the best value in its class!
Lets first say, the mileage is the same as the tahoe/yukon in the real world, everyone acts like its 10mpg..lol. The difference is, this V8 is second to none, will run forever. Tons of power and smooth. You get 99% of an Infinity Qx80, they are built in the same plant in Japan. I love the styling and apparently so do people around town, because I have had many compliments (pearl white) Platinum. Very Classy Interior is a wonderful mix of tech and classy dash dials/buttons, pictures dont do justice. Seats are beautiful and comfortable. My only two complaints on interior are 1. If i was taller then 6ft 1in, the drivers seat might not go back quite far enough. 2. The steering wheel could be a little thicker/softer leather wrap. Not a huge deal, but worth noting. The suspension is plush and very comfortable, but that also lends itself to some bump steer etc over uneven/harsh roads. I upgraded the front shocks to Bilstein and now it rides amazing all the time. $700 upgrade with labor. Worth it. Rear suspension is amazing.

2022 Armada love it but there is a battery problem
Love my 2022 armada sl. Has been our dream car but there is a known battery problem Nissan has not fixed and dealers can’t assist. We have mysteriously had to replace the battery after a year and two times now we have had to jump start the car to get it into the dealership. They know there’s a gremlin in this line but can’t fix it. So, buy knowing there will be a good chance your armada will strand you and new batteries and starters, etc. don’t fix it. Wish I had known about this problem. Google it and you’ll see how other owners have dealt with the problem. Nissan needs to step up and fix it!

King of the road!
We had an Armada 8 yrs ago a loved everything but the fuel mileage! 13mpg on the highway was normal! In the new 2021 Armada we found over 20mpg on the highway! This new model now comes with 400hp and a 7 speed transmission! Excellent combination for this SUV! I bought it for my wife and 3 children that are 6,8 and 10. We all have not one bad thing to say, no buyers remorse. This will be around for awhile for us! Love it!

The Tank
This vehicle is a beast on the highway with a smooth v8 transmission and comfortable and spacious. But my Nissan has a very bad, bad paint job with paint chips all over. Nissan refuses to deal with the problem. I also have an irritating noise in the dash that goes away only when you press on it.

Armada -meh
The 2020 Nissan Armada had a nice soft ride and road handling was good. The suv drove more like a car than a truck. Plenty of room inside for our family of four and all our gear. On the negative side, gas mileage was low (15 mpg) . Air/wind noise above 55 mph was noticeable and annoying on long trips. The entertainment system is at least 4 years behind the industry. My 2015 Toyota had more advanced features than the Nissan. Most aggravating negative and the major reason I got rid of it was due to a vibration that started around 40,000 miles. Vibration would occur around the shift points (1200 and 1800 rpms) and tachometer would bounce around until it shifted. There was a very noticeable feel in the gas pedal and a audible droning sound especially if the car was under load. Multiple visits to the dealer and I was told they couldn’t duplicate it. I even drove with them and reproduced it easily but they said it was within normal behavior limits for the car. Well if that’s normal or acceptable for this manufacturer , then I would recommend to stay away.
Will leave you stranded
3 new batteries in less than 2 years. It was explained to me by an ex service manager for Nissan that if you take short trips that the alternator doesn’t charge and you’ll be stranded in some of these cars. I’ve been stranded so many times. The 2019 is not a good model. Buyer beware.

Drives nice but infotainment is the WORST on the m
Drives great on highway, smooth ride, and comfortable. Gas mileage is atrocious, 17 or so on a 500 mile trip. The infotainment/navigation is the worst I have ever used. Hard to navigate menus and no CarPlay or android auto. Stock tires horrible, lots of wheel slippage in rain under moderate acceletation(only 18k on vehicle)

Love This SUB
I bought this SUV for my wife who wanted a full size SUV. After doing our due diligence it was a no brainer to select the Armada. The vehicle is luxuries, plenty of room and large cargo area. It rides smooth with lots of power. The interior is surprisingly quiet. The sounds system delivers nice quality sound. This vehicle doesn’t have as many bells and whistles as its competitors but for the price is is well worth foregoing some of the extras. It has the options most buyers need.

A fairly good SUV with known issues.
Only have 8000 miles on it so far, the BATTERY is a real problem, went out to go somewhere several times, and the battery will be dead, took the car back to Nissan but they can't seem to find anything, but they did put a new battery in it. Had same issue a week or so again. It's on the internet as one of the known issues with the Nissan Armada. Shop foreman suggested putting a battery tender on it, but why should I have to put a $50.00 piece of equipment on it to keep a 60k car running. But it rides very smooth on the highway. 15 - 17 mpg around town. Got up to 21 mpg out of one tank on the highway with cruise control on driving at 65 mph. Like having the larger V8 engine so the mpg is as expected it would be. Like the interior, and the 2nd row captains chairs. Don't use the 3rd row seats at all, leave them folded down all the time. It is just the wife and I so there is plenty of room, like the infotainment center, and the ICC cruise control. Like the steering wheel control layout. Overall, a fairly nice, good looking car. I use a 4 wheel walker to get around and it folds up and fits between the drivers seat and the 2nd row captain's chairs with ease. The side steps do make it easier to get in and out of. We have owned 5 brand new Nissan's the Rogue, Murano, Frontier, Pathfinder and now the Armada, this our last new car, as I am pretty satisfied with this Armada, Nissan does have some areas of concern in their vehicles. Nissan is going to get to bottom of this battery issue or they will get a lawsuit they will not like.

I use Armada for a little while now and I found it with no defects, it is comfortable, reliable, and so smooth to drive out on and off road It is a family friendly car full with high quality materials and safety standards , they used just the right technology without exaggeration , so they kept the price right in compare to other rivals Thanks Nissan and very well done

2022 Armada is Brilliant
Just bought the 2022 Armada SL after extensive research and comparison of other Larger SUV’s. At the 60k level you have great choices, but there was always a but. Tahoe and Yukon were close but cost 10k more. BMW, and Mercedes have significant reliability issues. Genesis and Lexus were good but still cost more. I reluctantly traded in my 2016 Nissan Titan Premium Reserve but I am glad I did. The Armada SL is adequately luxurious, a poor man’s version of the Infinity Qx80. The power from the V8 is fantastic. Comfort is top notch. The infotainment system is decent. Exterior styling is better then it has ever been. I highly recommend.

Gas guzzler and rough ride
Rental company gave me an Armada as “Ford Explorer or similar” for week long rental to drive from Ohio to Texas. I’ve driven an Explorer and the Armada doesn’t come close in regard to handling and gas mileage. Had to stop so many times to refill tank. Nice interior and safety features but poor stability. Top heavy and didn’t feel solid or smooth when going over rough roads. Felt like it was skidding left or right going over bumps. Access to back is difficult because it sits up so high. Dog had difficult time getting into the back. Hard to pack in luggage. Not an SUV I would purchase. Taking back to rental company early.
Do Not Buy!
We bought a used 2020 Armada, low mileage and one previous owner. Worst vehicle I have ever purchased. Engine makes strange noise that dealership can't explain. Gas mileage is beyond awful. No where what website suggests. We have a seat that rattles that we've tried to fix several times. Now we're experiencing electrical issues. Driver's side no longer unlocks using the touch option. Touch screen glitches and moves around without being touched. Also, the navigation maps are so outdated it's ridiculous. Streets and business no longer there several years before 2020.
A technology mess.
We rented a 2019 Armada SL for an 8-day road trip. It was generally nice to drive - comfortable with a strong and quiet V8. I guzzled gas and had a pretty small tank, but neither was a surprise. The additional seating in the back was nice when we didn’t have our luggage with us, but is unusable if you need any storage. Lots of bells and whistles seemed a bit over the top - both a rear and overhead camera views for backing up is a good example. Nice, but overkill when you can just use your eyes to look around. The bells and whistles ended up making driving the car a real hassle - the whole system needed to reset pretty regularly. The front radar unit used for emergency braking and cruise control was broken from the start. It took some time with the owners manual to figure out what was wrong and how to work around that failure to get just regular old cruise control to work. About half the time, though, the broken radar would turn off even regular cruise control functionality and the only solution was to pull over, turn off the engine, and then restart to reboot the electronics system. One time both the cruise control and the stereo volume adjustment both went out. One engine shut off fixed the volume knob, but it took a second engine shut off to get the cruise control working again. Since you only know if the cruise control works when you are going down the highway, this whole event took more time than we wanted to waste and was really annoying. There were other weird things - one was some sort of “check the back seat” kind of warning that would occasionally honk the horn 5-8 times after I left the vehicle. I think it is supposed to stop you from locking an infant in the back, but in practice is just unnecessary. Walking away from a car that sounds like the alarm is going off is not really a safety feature in my mind. I can only imagine that the neighbors would get pretty sick of this pretty quickly if you owned this thing. There were other warnings that I would turn off, only to have them on the next time I started the car. All-in-all a really poor implementation of some probably unnecessary “features.” In the end it was a relief to return the Armada. One week convinced me to stay away from every buying one of these. All the minor annoyances never left us stranded or anything, but I sure would not want to be stuck paying the repair bills on this thing. The radar unit alone is probably $1k, and it would probably take ten trips to the dealer to figure out why the volume knob sometimes stops working. Our rental only had 20k miles on it - I can only imagine what a mess this Armada will be at 40k.

Just what I wanted
Good looks, smooth ride very pleased
After the first trip
I love most things about this vehicle. I thrilled we bought it. That said the navigation system is somewhat out of date! It is not a GPS system. In addition, in certain weather conditions the cruise completely goes offline. When the front sensors get covered the cruise control is unusable. That is a flaw in the system. Update: After having the Armada for several years I’ve put a lot of miles on it. For a few years I had to drive from IL to WY to Memphis again and again. I drove in all types of weather - sunshine to blizzards. I was seldom home. This vehicle is amazing and comfortable. I wouldn’t trade the Armada for anything.

Would never consider buying one
Rented a full size SUV from one of the large rental companies for a week-long trip that was over 1800 miles total. The company listed full size SUV vehicles as Ford Expedition or "similar". I go to pick up my rental and they had a new Armada for me. I was never more happy to return a vehicle. It got us there and back, but that's about where it ended. None of the vehicles in that class have stellar fuel economy, but the Armada is worst. Averaged 16 mpg on the highway. The steering is terrible and it's a constant fight to keep it in the lane. Not to mention that the thing jams on the brakes if it thinks you are too close to another car. Dangerous on a highway when you're trying to pass or change lanes. The seats are horrible. I've made road trips three times as long and have never hurt so bad after a few hours behind the wheel. The middle row seats didn't recline and sat so upright they almost felt like sitting against a wall. The cargo area is a nightmare to load, especially if you lower the 3rd row for more space. Lowering the 3rd is electric and takes about forever for them to go all the way down. The rear bumper sticks out so far it's nearly impossible to reach in unless you're 6'8". Add all of that to a poorly laid out nav and stereo system, the whole package is a disaster in design and a prime example of how NOT to build a vehicle. Politely decline if your rental company offers you an Armada and definitely RUN if a car dealer tries to sell you one.

Could be so much better.
At this price the doors should be so “tinny” when you open or close them. Bring your largest gas card; this thing is a fuel hog; 5 hours of highway driving +$50 refuel. No car should be without Apple car play, particularly at this price. Very smooth ride on smooth roads, almost limo like. Very jumpy on turns with any roughness in the road, not very poised. Cruise control radar is very twitchy, better to run with it off if possible; it can make the truck brake very far behind the car in front even with the setting set as close as possible. Seats are ok, they feel flat and hard after a few hours behind the wheel, the leather seems to hold onto any stain. Needs an optional roller shade over the rear deck.

Like it again and again
Price tag much affordable compare to other same class SUVs very comfy and reliable good power towed 6’ by 12’ trailer from Pennsylvania to Florida fully loaded with ease good gas mileage for 6000 lbs truck with 5.6 engine highly recommend
12 miles per galon
The worst financial decision made. I had the car for 3 months, and I consider I wait to long to sell it. The gas consumable was ridiculously abysmal. 250 miles per 26 galon was the most. I have a 2007 Nissan Armada also, and no comparison. Don’t make the mistake I did. There are other cars in the market. Costumer service, hotline, the worst ever. They don’t even know basic math, and I spoke to more than 2 representatives. Do all bad around. I bought a Suburban 2021 and it heaven compare with the Armada.

Aged like milk in an Arizona garage
I have owned my 2019 Armada SV for almost 2 years now. It's an ok car but not really worth what I paid for it. It doesn't have a lot of features that I could have gotten in a car half the price. Other people must agree with my low assessment because the resale value is atrocious making it impossible to unload now that I have seen it's true colors. First the good. It rides really nicely, the seats are big and comfy, the rear legroom is amazing. The car looks really nice from a distance. Lot's of v8 power on tap for anyone willing to drop the hammer. Now the bad: The cargo area is small even with 3rd row laid down and has a slant to it b/c 3rd row doesn't fold completely flat. With 3rd row up, the cargo hold is smaller than in some midsize suvs. The entertainment center is not intuitive and doesn't include either Apple Carplay or Android carplay. To make simple changes in BT phone connection, you must go through several menus. If you forget before you take off driving, it's very unsafe to change it because the steering wheel controls aren't good. For example, there are no buttons on the backside of the wheel, everything is the face. The volume is a weird open toggle switch which I am surpised no one has accidentally spilled something into yet. There are separate buttons for dash display updates and entertainment center updates and no speed display on dash gauges despite there being a digital info center, I have a 2015 Dodge Journey and it has a digital speedo but this car that costs 2x as much doesn't have one. The paint is coming off of front edge of hood in tiny chips and a rust spot appeared on the rear hatch (I live in south Central US far from oceans or much roadsalt). The chrome can be permanently marred by simple bug strikes which means that if you own it long enough all the chrome in the grille area is going to have weird splattery effect to it. The wheels are an odd size making tire options harder to find and expensive. NissanConnect can't remote start or roll windows down unless you have a higher-end model. Also it's a $12-$24/month for the service. The collision sensors intermittently chirp for no reason but the dealer can never replicate it. The cruise automatically drops the speed 5-10 mph when going around even the slightest curves and will overbrake on hills and under accelerate on hills which causes the car to be accelerating and braking constantly even on interstates. I had someone driving with me in a convoy and they asked me to stop using it b/c they had to keep braking and accelerating nonstop to keep a decent distance behind me. The resale value is terrible. Dropped 25% in less than a year. It's probably 50% lower at this point and I bought it 2 years old with 40,000 miles which should have absorbed a lot of the depreciation. 2 years and 25,000 miles later, it's worth about as much as a toyota Camry with the same mileage and age despite Some of these problems don't exist with a newer Armada since they now have Carplay. Also it's possible that the remote start feature is now available at lower trim levels. So if you are looking for an Armada, I would skip the 2019 for sure.

Nissan Armada 2019
This is a great SUV. First time ever I have purchased anything but a Chevrolet, but it was the best decision I have made. Much smoother ride and absolutely beautiful vehicle. Never have I had so many people ask about this vehicle - very sharp and great ride.

2019 Armada and a 5,500 lb boat
I am very happy with this vehicle. We háve driven it 28,000 miles with about 12,000 miles of that on trips. We get 19.5 mpg on the highway, 15.5 in the city and about 11. pulling the boat. Acceleration is very good. The ride is not too firm but not at all mushy. The second row seats are very comfortable but there is too much leg room, which means the third row is cramped. It is fine for young teens and kids. Quiet rattle in the dash. It is a DEV --> Do Everything Vehicle.

The last straw. I wont buy Nissan again.
I bought a used 2019 Armada in 2019 with 30k miles and I was really excited about it. I’ve always really liked Armadas and their fancy cousin the Q80. Just days after buying it, it wouldn’t start. After having to be towed twice with two misdiagnosis at the dealership it was finally fixed. The switch that shows your pushing the brake pedal down is cheap crap. It wont start unless the brake is fully depressed. The dealership rightfully didn't charge anything. The next few years went fairly smooth and keeping up with normal scheduled maintenance. The information system and Navigation is glitchy and the vehicle needs to be stopped and restarted to reset. Nov 2024 I took it for its 100k service…oil change, brake fluid system drained and refilled, and replace spark plugs. Shortly after getting it home it was running rough so I took it back. One of the pre gapped plugs was bent causing misfired. Apparently inspecting new parts before installing isn’t standard procedure. The rightfully fixed at no cost. Dec 2024 after pressing the gas there was a delay before it started moving. At first it was rare then became more regular after a week. There were no warning light. I went to check the transmission fluid but there is no dip stick to check with this type. I made an appointment again with the dealer and took the next day. At the very end the following day they said the found a transmission fluid leak in one of the line. The transmission was nearly drained of fluid and its now making a grinding sound. They say theres no way to fix it and it will only get worse. The recommend a full transmission and transmission lines replacement. The fragile line that was punctured somehow is directly under the vehicle with zero protection from road debris or the elements. This apparently is a common issue. I understand not everything under the vehicle can or should get extra protection, but this fragile line should especially when a failure can cause such a big repair or leave a person stranded. Now I’m looking at $6,000 to $8,000 in repairs and still have about 12 payments left. Never again.
Loved it!
