Its transmission went out forty five thousand miles. Not to the lack of maintenance. Also the transmission fluid is extremely expensive. Then the computer went out 1800 dollars. Also the front air shutter went out. So if you live in a state like Utah it will trip trip the check engine light. Meaning you can’t get it inspected. Also it’s not just the Altima. Almost every vehicle they make has this problem. If you don’t want want to have your car more than your rear end the seat never buy a Nissan or a infinity.

My 2017 Altima only has 104,000 miles on it and after being charged $200 at the Van Nuys Nissan when I told them the transmission was having slipping problems and at times on the highway would not move faster when the gas pedal was to the floor, I was told they can't repair them, only replace them. They did not need to charge $200 to tell me that. They could have at least told me that no matter what is wrong with the transmission it needs to be replaced. They also wanted $6000 to do so. I went with Aamco instead. But after some internet searches and more info from the Aamco mechanic I learned that these transmissions are so bad that they did improve the transmissions he buys from Nissan to replace them, yet there is still no recall so that us owners are not blindsided by a financially crippling repair bill at such low mileage. If this is how Nissan does business this is the last Nissan I will ever purchase.

This car is sporty looking gets a lot of attention, I love the wheels, great on gas, very roomy. This is coming from a person who previously owned a Dodge Dart small compact car but I have to say this gets better gas mileage than my old car.
