Used 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander Consumer Reviews
Great SUV at a very attractive price!
I looked at several mid-sized SUVs to replace my Ford Transit Connect passenger van, including offerings from Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, and Volkswagen. Being a former owner of 4 Mitsubishi vehicles, I decided to look at the Outlander, and am I ever glad that I did. I like it so well that I bought a second Outlander, as I needed a new car for my disabled partner to drive. Both of them are in the SE trim, which is very well equipped. One thing that the Outlander offers that few other competitors don't is a third-row seat that folds flat to make a generous loading space. However, it is miniscule and suitable only for very small children or pets that can fit in it and get into it through the folded second-row split bench seat. We don't have either small children or pets in the household, so the third-row seat will remain folded down. It's all in the details, and Mitsubishi has made some very positive changes for the 2025 model year. I heard complaints about overly light steering in the prior years as well as rough ride and high noise level. These complaints were certainly addressed by Mitsubishi for 2025. The steering is now well-weighted and gives the driver some road feel. The suspension in the 2025 now handles rough pavement with aplomb, and the car is VERY quiet. It is so quiet that when engine is running and stopped, you can hardly hear it from inside or outside the car. The exterior styling is somewhat bold and unusual, certainly differentiating it from other mid-sized SUVs, but I find it attractive (your mileage may differ). The interior is unbelievably posh for this price point and well executed with good fit and soft touch surfaces everywhere you would want them. The SE seats have a sueded fabric insert in the center surrounded by simulated leather, and they are very comfortable in both the first and second rows. In hot Florida I appreciate not sitting on uncomfortably warm all-leather seats. I was parked next to a Lincoln Aviator SUV, and to be frank, the Outlander's interior looks posher than the Lincoln. Leg room is great in both first and second rows. The technology that Mitsubshi has incorporated seems state of the art. The infotainment screen is large and sharp, and the audio system by Yamaha that is standard equipment blows me away - probably the best stereo system I have ever had in one of my cars. So far fuel mileage has been in the upper 20s. There are all types of safety-related technologies, such as collision avoidance, lane centering blind spot warning, and front, rear, and side cameras to help with parking and visibility when navigating tight spaces like narrow alleys. Apparently, Mitsubishi is #6 in reliability for its vehicles and low annual repair and maintenance costs, and they give you several free services. The warranty is about the best in the business, so you will not have to buy a protection plan as insurance. Overall, the Outlander is awesome and a terrific value, and we now have fraternal twin SEs in the household, one pearlescent white and one dark gray metallic.

Step up from the Outlander Sport
Back while my wife was in school (2013) we purchased an end of lease outlander sport and 120,000 miles later besides a bad TMC module that thing is still going strong. Loud road noise, bad acceleration but it pulled itself through several snowstorms. So since we had such great luck she wanted a Outlander. We've owned the Outlander for several months now and the only issue so far was a faulty backup camera, had to wait a month to get that repaired. The interior, ride, acceleration are all a huge improvement over our old sport. Lane assist works well, blind spot indicators are great (but I still double check). The interior room is perfect for 4 adults, the 3rd row imo is useless. Wish there was an option to have a full size spare tire in the trunk instead. Any of our long trips we now take the Outlander, from looks to comfort honestly it's hard to beat for $30k.

Awesome body but as some isdues
As others mentioned the HOOD!! The first week I had mine I thought the hitch wasn’t on good. I pulled over and it was fine. After going over 65 it shakes to were you think it’s going to fly off. I’ve gotten used to it, but it does have a recall on it!! Second issue is my led screen, sometimes I’ll be listen to music and the whole screen goes black, and after a few seconds it reboots itself and turns back on!! Third issue I had to get the rack and pinion replaced after the first month because I had a thump in my stirring wheel. Fourth issue the mirror on the driver side 75% of the time it won’t pop back open unless I mess with the button inside. The dealership where I bought my outlander has promised to replace my hood for 11 month’s and I’m still waiting!! I’m actually thinking about trading mine in. For reference, I have the 2022 white diamond sel .

Really Impressive SUV
This is my second Mitsubishi SUV. My first was a 2011 Endeavor and I loved that vehicle, so I thought I would give Mitsubishi another look this year when searching for a new ride. I’ve driven many different brands over the years (Audi, Lincoln, Mercedes-Benz, etc.). Something always brings me back to Mitsubishi. The build quality, impressive technology, and luxury interior craftsmanship are just a few highlights of the new 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander. It’s beautifully designed inside and out. Normal driving mode is fine for everyday driving, but if you need/want a few extra horses, just put it in tarmac mode. Zoom! Wireless Apple CarPlay and charging make your daily commute a breeze. The MiPilot self-driving feature on the SEL edition is such a great option when driving long distances. I’ve used it many times without fail. The interior of this vehicle is truly remarkable in design, soft touches, and comfort. It’s breathtaking to look at (much more luxurious than some of the luxury brands I’ve owned). There’s no buyers remorse here.

A Uplift in this Uplander
Wife and I rented a 2023 Uplander SE for 2 weeks and 820 miles of mixed highway and suburban driving in flat Florida. Did 29mpg which is good for this larger SUV. Handling was better than I expected, with a tight turning radius making parking and maneuvering (using the camera and safety settings) easy. Seats were comfortable, except the third row really is useless other than a selling feature. Power was ok but we didn't challenge the engine on the flat roads we covered. CVT shifted flawlessly. Tech wasn't great with some annoying alarms that were distracting rather than helpful. Cruise control was jerky at times. Settings on the flat screen were pretty intuitive. Exterior styling was eye catching but a bit overdone for us (it's a matter of taste) Saw several Outlanders on the roads so it's selling down south. Overall I wouldn't mind owning this SUV but plan to check out a few other next.
