Very Impressed so far - initial reactions
I picked up my new 2022 Outlander almost 2 months ago and I have to say I am quite impressed. I have the LE Premium package (Canada) and the driver's seat is very comfortable, it is quiet and smooth. The non-Bose sound system sounds really good. The power is quite adequate, it may not win a drag race, but if that's what you're looking for maybe a mid-size SUV isn't what you're looking for. The CVT feels better than any other CVT vehicle I have ever driven. The mileage has been really good. I've been averaging under 8L/100km in mixed driving. The fit & finish is good - no squeaks or rattles. I have the pearl white paint as well and I think it looks just fantastic. I was sold on the looks (both inside & out) & utility of the vehicle and the good warranty gave me the confidence to try something new Time will tell, but so far so good!

Terrible
Unfortunately the 2022 outlander SEL is a terrible choice. They seemed to have rolled out these vehicles without doing much quality checking. I have taken my vehicle in for an oil change and told them my hood is shaking bad, I was then told they need hood replacement (hood is too light) and seat belts werw recalled. The engine in colder weather sounds like trash and it feels like you are driving in neutral for the first half hour of travel. I also made the mistake of not checking that it is 4WD or AWD. These vehicles are not meant for cooler temperatures and definitely not snow. I cannot wait to get rid of this "nice looking" piece of junk.

3rd outlander in a row
I fell in love with this car 6 years ago and now I am on my 3rd one. Handles great in rain and snow gets amazing gas mileage on the open roads (53 MPG driving from NY to Florida) and the only maintenance was normal service,
The new Outie.
This is my 3rd Outie, and 5th Mitsu overall. When I leave for work and the roads are snow covered I put the AWC obviously into SNOW. I stop for a coffee at the gas station, start the car back up, and it defaults back to NORMAL setting. Owner's manual says it'll do this..I guess my question is WHY? Hood flutter doesn't really bother me as my 2010 did the same thing. The one thing I cannot excuse is the garbage Bose stereo. There's a half baked sub under the rear floor with absolutely no adjustments, no volume, and no sub "punch", and 10 speakers. Problem is 8 of the 10 are in the front doors / dashboard, and you only get the basic volume/balance/fader/tone controls. It cannot be adjusted-to suit my taste anyway. My 2010 and 2019 Outies, along with our 18 Eclipse Cross all had the Rockford sound system. THAT was a stereo. Mitsu built this beautiful new car, then completely ruined the upper 2 option packages by skimping on the radio. More than alot disappointed. Some may think I'm nuts, but if you listened to the RF sound system they used to use, and adjusted it to your liking, it was the best! This Bose does not even come close. My opinion is they should stick to making Wave radios and stop meddling in factory car audio.Brand new car and I'm getting my game plan together to come up with with a solution to fix something where the Mitsubishi engineers failed miserably.

Good family vehicle, more available than Toyota
We purchased a 2022 outlander es with AWD after looking at a Rav 4. The outlander seems to have more interior room which was important because I am six feet tall and need room for my teenage sons who are close to six feet tall now. They can sit comfortably behind me. The outlander is a few inches wider and longer than the rav4. Also the Outlanders were on the lot and less expensive than the Rav 4. The Toyota dealer wanted $3000 over msrp for the rav 4 and we would have had to wait at least a month for the rav4. We don't plan on using the very small third row, it seems like it might only be usefull for very small children.
