Best value wagon
* UPDATE2* 45k miles on odometer, no major issues, however some minor issues tho: 1. Interior panel fitment, panels around passenger and back seat got lose and started rattling in couple area. Not sure why. 2. Touch panel is not responding on certain area. No fix 3. Window motor getting loud 4. This car doesn’t like any accessories attach to the OBD2 port. Warning light is up. Leave it open. Drivability is still good and I’ve been happy with some minor mods I’ve done to make this wagon more fun to drive daily. Drive assist sensors are helpful but not always working. Visibility all around is excellent. I’ve done some distance driving more than 6 hrs and I didn’t get tired at all. *UPDATE* 6k mile driven since my last review. It’s going strong and everything I wrote preciously still stands. Improvements I’ve done: 1. I have removed the 3rd row seats. It’s stupid and I didn’t buy because it’s a “7 passenger cross”. This wagon should market as a 5 passenger compact in the US (and I get it, in Japan CRV also has a 3rd row, but this is America we drive longer) 2. I installed a KN filter and improved performance significantly, much smoother and better acceleration. MPG and cruise speed have also improved. Highly recommend. 3. I have installed an OEM spare tire kit where it belongs. Had to struggle with Mitsubishi parts center but they sold kit and I installed it in my garage, easy task anyone can do and gives you extra peace of mind. I’m close to 40k and follow OEM maintenance schedule, so far so good. It’s a nice compact wagon and gets the job done. SAWC is really awesome, hugging corner (tho leans a lot due to high CG) yet never feel unsafe, mitsu rally heritage seems still alive in this wagon. I often compare it to previous Gen Subaru Forrester or outback…Outlander isn’t Subaru but does what Subaru does at less cost. ————————- I was in market for used wagon or cross, went to a big rental car sale office and test drive CX5 touring, Compass trailhawk, RAV4 XE, and outlander, all with mid 20 to low 30k miles. Since it was a rental place they had one trim level for each model. Long story short I came home with outlander SEL AWD. It was cheapest and most feature packed. CX5 came close but trunk space was not as big, otherwise CX5 might have won (a lot nicer sporty cross) Here’s what I think of this former rental wagon after driving 2k miles: It’s a decent wagon, lots of safety features are standard and simply works (not as many false alarm as my wife’s 2019 CRV) It has ample power to get up on highway and cruise at 85mph - don’t listen to “expert” who thinks cross needs clock 0-60 under 7sec. Handling is okay, definitely solid on high speed but at low speed steering feel loose. Shock absorption is adequate. Lean on corner is noticeable but yaw control is superb in AWD mode in wet condition, it’s actually a joy. Seat high enough and nothing to obstruct view. I get about 27mpg on highway commute, that’s decent for AWD. Engine room has good elbow room I was shocked considering this is very narrow wagon. Infotainment simply works - nothing complicated very straight forward big diagram and link up with my apple car play no hassle. Again, for a Japanese brand this is refreshing (take a note Subaru!) ....and this is Made in Japan. Other than luxury brand like Lexus, most “Japanese” cross on the street are made in USA. Cons - this is not a third row suv, don’t buy this for that purpose. Design is so old school you wonder this is some Eastern European car from Cold War era. Leather seat feel cheap and not sure why carbon ish panels. No spare tire. Dealer is limited and parts tend to be more expensive. I would not buy this wagon brand new, there are better cross out there that’s competitively priced. But for a used well maintained cross or wagon, Mitsu is worth a look.

I love my Outlander SE
I absolutely love my Outlander SE. The interior is elegant and classy, The seats are supportive and comfortable. The infotainment system works better than the one in my Chevy did. The professional reviews complain about the 2.4, but I find it to be reasonably peppy and quiet. So far I'm already getting low 30s mpg, but I expect thag to improve as the engine wears-in. Coming from a Volt, I love the CVT. I went with the SE to get blind spot detection. It comes with a 10 year 100k warranty, and I upgraded it even further for about 2k. You can find some great deals on them.

Awesome! My second Outlander!
I LOVE this car!!! I get really disappointed when it is not rated as highly as it should be! Mistubishi has added features that were missing- really listened to their customers. I owned a 2017 and decided to spoil myself with a 2020- it is loaded with safety features- I can tow our boat now as the one I picked had a tow package- the horse power they say is not good- this is so not true! It is a zippy little SUV and has sport mode- I got the premium package on the SEL- now down in NC, I do not need the all wheel drive - I have the heated steering wheel now and they put vents and USB plugs in the back which it really needed- this car is AWESOME!! great on gas too ... and so comfortable as we make long trips up to CT... and yes, the 3rd row is a bit cramped but we used it the other night and it is fine for the littles... It does not bother me as we do not use it a lot anyway. This is my second one and look forward to continuing to be a Mistubishi driver! My husband loves it too and I have to reign him on taking my car to work every day!! Everything you need for a great price!!!

Call me Deacon Blues
We've owned a Galant (2001) and an Outlander SEL (2016), which we've passed down to daughters. We loved both, and when we needed a new SUV, we shopped extensively, not wanting to be boring. But the Outlander SEL once again won out. The value/price ratio is just unbeatable. Leather seats, third row seating (small, but there), great sound). We did buy blue rather than black.

Outlander Surpasses All Expectationd
Rescently purchased a 2020 Outlander SE L...in stunning Granite Brown Metallic. I have a 2019 Porsche Cayenne as well. I've always purchased luxury cars. The Outlander should be classified as a Luxury Vechile. The best warranty in the business along with quality high-end finishes inside and out make it an SUV that I'm proud to park next to my Porsche. Critics have been way off in their low scores of what I believe is a Great Automobile! Happy with my choice.

Spontaneous rear side body indentations develop.
This summer unique indents have developed in upper section of both rear quarter panels between each side window and rear hatch opening for no apparent reason. Their nature and possible cause is now under investigation by the Waverly MITSIBUSHI Dealership staff. Other than the unusual extreme heat this summer, it’s 14K km have been by routine city driving and regular hiway travel to our summer cottage.

Great Value. I’d Buy One
I rented a Outlander Limited (fleet only model? Equivalent of an SEL model I’d guess) for 4 days and about 500 miles of combined highway and city. I keep wondering why the press is so negative about this vehicle. The ride and acceleration are good. Interior materials are fine. Third row seat is small and cramped for and adults but would be fine for kids under eight years old. Gas mileage is excellent for a small suv (got around 30 MPH) If I was in the market I’d buy one considering it’s about 25 percent cheaper than a comparably priced RAV4 or CR-V. My only issue is with its CVT transmission. When the engine is cold. It’s searches for the correct gear at highway speeds. After a few minutes it adjusts to the right gear. The audio interface is a little funky but I figured it out. Apple Car Play would be a good upgrade I was surprisingly happy with the Outlander.

Drove a rental home tonight about 100 miles . Basic transportation. Not a comfy ride and you get what you pay for. I was disappointed with Mitsubishi

Dumb Stupid hurtful design.
Folding the seat back hurt my hand. Such an overly complicated stupid design Have to fold down all seats you can’t just fold down one! No volume control knob! Switches cause you to kill yourself by crashing the car cause you have to look into hell to find it!

Worst vehicle ever invented:
A 2020, what a waste of vehicle. No standout feature and who invents a smart vehicle that doesn't tell you exactly which tire need air? You literally have to play tag with all 4 tires, before you get the right one (so inconvenient), no GPS and the backup camera doesn't beeps or notify you of anything, it's only there as a picture. I will NEVER purchase another Mitsubishi vehicle again nor will I reccomend anyone else to do so. Expensive car, but bootleg features (yuck). Now my Ford, Chevy an Dodge vehicles comes fully equipped with everything above and more. I selling that Mitsubishi as soon as I can, like I said, "Mitsubishi is the worst car ever invented" and I stand behind this statement so let's argue (I got or I will make time for this topic)!!!

The worst car ever
Never buy it. Don’t waste you time, money and nerves. It has so many bugs. For example you will have to find how to open gasoline door cap.
Canadian owner
Awesome vehicle, it is constantly scored low for some reason. I own the sel model 2020, this thing is bullet proof In the worst canadian winters. Awc drives thru the snow and slush like nothing. I did find it a little hard on fuel but for the class of vehicle it's average. I tow my 12 foot pop up trailer loaded with camping gear like it's nothing. We're a family of 5 so the 3rd row made sense. Love this rig, I bought it because my brother in law drove his mitsubishi for 12 years and counting.

Radio boo!
Car runs ok, I’m glad i refrained from writing my review the day i found out i have to replace my radio for $6800.00 on a 2020 vehicle . Sounding like a mad man doesn’t make people take you serious . The 2 dealerships i took it too said i must have done something which makes me believe thats what they were told to say. I told them yes i turned it on daily. The one dealership wanted to charge me to look at it! I will never again look at a Mitsubishi again, I hope people reading this will take me serious if not, good luck!!
