Never Again!!!!!
2001-C240, 165,000 miles. I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, EVER buy another Mercedes. 1) I had to unplug the power seats because they drain the battery if left plugged in overnight. 2) Automatic trunk opener does not work. 3) Sunroof does not open properly. 4) Cup holder does not work. 4) Dash lights do not work. 5) It sounds like either the rear bearings or the transmission is going out. 5) Poor gas mileage (20-23 mpg). 6) two spark plugs per cylinder. Each spark plug cost $20.00. 7) The rear window shade does not work properly. 8) Cigarette lighter does not work. I do not smoke but I need it to keep my phone charged. 9) CD changer does not work properly. 10) The radio will shut off on its own but if I open the passenger side door the radio comes back on. A mechanic told me that the engine will last forever but the rest of the car will cost you your house! I have a 1995 Toyota Camry with 395,000 miles on it and everything still works.

So much hope
Loved driving the car, great handling! Made me look forward to the drive to/from work. Fun on the weekends too! However, having an alternator go out at 52,000 miles is ridiculous. We bought this car used, 44,000 miles, in May of 2005. After the alternator was fixed at the dealer yesterday afternoon, drove the car straight to be sold. We felt like this car was ready to become a money pit. We had MANY bulb failures, and a "thumping" that the dealer couldn't ever figure out nor fix. We had researched the Lexus and intended to buy one, but, found this car on the lot and fell in love. Reliability is very important to us, and we (I) made the wrong decision.

Ain;t that bad
Got the car, no problems. Perhaps the multiple reviews are because of the price paid and expectation levels. Car is ok and cool when you drive it around.
beautiful!!!!!!
I fell in love with my Benz the first time I saw it. It's fast, reliable, and very comfortable. I am a business woman who travels often for work, and I've had no trouble with it. It's great on the highway and has very distinctive styling. I love it.
Addictive Lemon
I look forward to the drive everytime I get behind the wheel and step on the gas, as it has power, handling, and style. What I hate is the reliability. I had more problems with this one car than with my 10 previous cars combined, including a 20 year old $300 Accord. I still love it but it's easy to go bankrupt fixing this car. Problems: power steering pump broke, cam and crank sensors ($1k repair), dual zone climate not dual anymore, vent solenoid making noises, alternator replaced, numerous light bulb failures, other minor electrical gremlins that I stopped bothering with. Do not buy this car unless you have FULL warranty or money to fix it. Otherwise great driver's car.
